Analysis of Effects of Learning Motivation on the Interaction in Online Cooperation Learning (온라인 협력학습에서 학습동기가 상호작용에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of learning motivation on interaction in online collaborative learning. The study subjects are 79 university students who take courses in teaching. Learning motivations measured the intrinsic goal orientation, extrinsic goal orientation, tasks value, control of learning beliefs, test anxiety, self-efficacy, goal orientation by MSLQ. Next, the level of interaction was measured by online collaborative tasks. The group for online cooperation tasks consisted of four to five people and random assignment. The level of interaction was used frequency and score that quantitative Value assess. The collected data were analysed using multiple regression analysis(stepwise). As a result, self-efficacy and extrinsic goal orientation, tasks value, mastery goal orientation were positive effect on frequency and score. next, test anxiety and performance avoid goal orientation were negative effect on frequency and score.

A relationship among task value, academic self-efficacy, motivation, self-regulated learning and academic procrastination in a college e-learning course (이러닝 강의를 수강하는 대학생의 학업지연행동에 영향을 미치는 요인들의 관계 규명)

  • Academic procrastination has been a concern for educators. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among task value, academic self-efficacy, autonomous motivation, self-regulated learning, and academic procrastination in e-learning courses. Based on the literature review, the path model was proposed and tested with 212 university students who registered in e-learning courses. The results showed that task value and academic self-efficacy positively influenced autonomous motivation and self-regulated learning, and autonomous motivation and self-regulated learning reduced the level of academic procrastination directly or indirectly. Implications and strategies to reduce procrastination were discussed based on the findings.

  • Delay of immediate gains/losses brings on additional gaines/losses as much as waiting period. However, there are individual difference in evaluating the value of delayed time discounting on the person. In this study, to investigates the individual differences about valuating the delayed time, it is ascertained the correlation between decisions from intertemporal choice task and individual differences of risk taking/perception, emotion, regulatory focus, and HPSP and BELT, subjective period measuring task. In Addition, it is analyzed the individual differences after classifying good/bad performer of intertemporal tasks and person who perceive long/short about the future periods. As a result, good performers of intertemporal task have high openness and perceive longer about 12 hours, 15 days, 6 months and 5 years. Reconstruction about future temporal length plays an important role on intertemporal task, and it is discussed about necessity of follow up study.

Social values and decision making on bioethical issues (물건인가, 생명인가?: 사회적 가치와 생명윤리에 관한 의사결정)

  • This article aimed to test whether specific social values (i.e., achievement vs. benevolence) could cause changes in decision making on bio-ethical issues. Study 1 investigated value preferences among young Korean college students according to Schwartz's (1992) model of social values. According to the results, the preference for achievement value was correlated negatively with the preference for benevolence value. In Study 2, following a sentence completion task which was conducted to trigger specific values, the participants had to indicate their ethical decisions regarding animal experiment, euthanasia, organ transplantation, biotechnology, sex selection and human cloning, Irrespective of the value priming (achievement vs. benevolence), there were more utilitarian decisions about animal experiment, euthanasia and organ transplantation. In contrary, there were more deontological decisions about sex selection and human cloning. Study 3 introduced a word completion task to assess implicit value preferences. The results showed that the participants with implicit preferences for the benevolence value in the condition of benevolence value priming were more frequently against animal experiments and organ transplantation than those with implicit value preferences for the achievement value. Social values are discussed for understanding one's bioethical decision making.
