Analysis of Environmental Factors for Full Bloom Stage and Fruit Growth in Peach (복숭아 품종의 만개기와 과실 생장에 영향을 미치는 환경요인 분석)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of environment factors on full bloom stage and fruit width in four peach cultivars. The average temperature in March was the main factor to determine the date of full bloom in 'Kurakatawase'($-0.6871^*$) and 'Changhowon Hwangdo'($-0.5270^*$). The fruit growth curve after 35 days from full bloom was the double sigmoid shape in 'Changhowon Hwangdo' cultivar. Environmental factors affecting fruit width were mean diurnal range(BIO2) and temperature annual range(BIO 7) in 'Kurakatawase', growing degree days(GDD) after 30 days from full bloom and July precipitation in 'Yumyeong', and annual mean temperature(BIO1), BIO7, and July precipitation in 'Kawanakajima Hakuto'. Of these, major environmental factors affecting fruit width in more than two cultivars were BIO7 and July precipitation.

Comparison of Soil Nutrient Status in Conventional and Organic Apple Farm (관행농 및 유기농 사과과수원 토양의 양분함량 비교)

  • Soil nutrient status in an organic apple farm was evaluated in relation to a conventional farm to better understand the effects of organic farming system on soil fertility. Soil organic matter, total and mineral N, available P, exchangeable cations, and available micronutrients were monitored at depth of 5-20 cm from May to October in 2006. Average soil organic matter content was 63.3 and $31.0g\;kg^{-1}$ in organic and conventional farm, respectively. Total N content was 3.3 and $1.7g\;kg^{-1}$ in average for organic and conventional farm, respectively. Ammonium and nitrate N in organic farming were maintained at relatively stable levels, but in the conventional farm the levels were very high in early season due to the chemical fertilizer application. In the organic apple farm, available P content in May was lower than that found in the conventional farm, but during the growing season available P content was continuously increased and in August the content was more than $1000mg\;P_2O_5\;kg^{-1}$. The organic farm maintained relatively greater exchangeable K, Ca, and Mg levels than the conventional farm. Available Cu, Fe, and Mn contents in the conventional farm were relatively greater than those found in the organic farm. However, available Zn extracted in 0.1 M HCl was much greater in the organic farm. Nutrient levels above crop needs were observed in both conventional and organic apple farm suggesting a more appropriate management of soil nutrients in organic farming to secure its fundamental functions for the sustainable agriculture.

도태품종 고집은 손해만 초래

  • 과수농사를 잘 하려면 식물생리, 토양의 이$\cdot$화학적 성질, 비료의 성질과 작용, 병$\cdot$해충의 생활사, 농약, 유통등의 지식을 갖추어 조화있게 조절할 수 있어야 최소의 경비로 최대의 소득을 얻을 수 있다. 일반적으로 기본지식이 없이 다른 사람들을 따라서 농사를 짓다보면 너무나 몰라서 실패하는 경우가 많은데 과수농사에 성공을 하려면 수시로 발생되는 문제점에 대해서는 실물을 가지고 농촌지도소, 농촌진흥청 또는 농과대학에 가서 완전한 해답을 얻고 그 해답을 기록하여 두는 습관을 길러 지식을 축적한다면 실패의 원인을 감소시킬 수 있다. 과수농사 성공의 비결은 과종과 품종의 선택, 병$\cdot$해충방지, 알맞은 토양관리, 알맞은 전정, 생산물의 상품화 적기판매 등이 잘 되어야 높은 소득을 올릴 수 있다.

'올해과수병해충 발생동향 진단'

  • 금년의 과수농사는 개화기에 다소 많은 비가 내렸고 강풍이 불어 다소 어려울 듯 하였으나 그후 생육기에는 안정되어 예년에 비하여 10$\%$정도 증수될 것으로 추정되고 있다. 이와같은 결과는 기상의 안정에 힘입은 바 크지만 농민들의 피와 땀의 결정이고 병충해 방제 및 모든 어려운 일을 슬기롭게 이겨낸 덕분이라 믿는다. 특히 금년 여름은 무던히도 더웠던 탓으로 후기에 굴나방, 점박이응애, 진딧물등 해충의 발생이 지역에 따라 심하였으며 과실의 숙기가 빨라진 탓으로 탄저병과 부패병(겹무늬병)이 약 20일 정도 일찍 발생되어 약제 방제를 소홀히 한 지역에서는 크게 문제가 되었다. 따라서 금년도의 기상과 병충해 발생 정도를 분석 진단하여 내년도 농사에 보탬이 되었으면 하고 과수별 주요 병해충을 진단해 보고자 한다.

농업기술 - 과수 언 피해 갈변을 통해 쉽게 판단 가능

  • 지구 온난화 현상으로 겨울철 기온의 상승폭이 커 저온에 의한 언 피해가 줄어들 것으로 예상할 수 있지만, 따뜻한 겨울은 나무의 생육을 촉진시키기 때문에 보다 높은 온도에서도 동해가 발생될 수 있는 기능성이 높아지고 있다. 특히 올해 8월의 '볼라벤'과 '덴빈', 9월의 '산바' 등 3개의 태풍으로 낙엽피해가 심해 저장양분이 다른 해에 비해 적을 것이므로 올 겨울 동해발생을 걱정하지 않을 수 없다. 과수의 언 피해는 생육이 멈춘 상태에서 발생되기 때문에 그 피해를 쉽게 파악할 수 없어 대책 마련이 어려웠다. 따라서 과수의 언 피해가 발생했을 때 피해를 조기에 파악하는 방법에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.

Current Status of Pest Management and Biodiversity in Organic Pear Orchards in Korea (배 유기재배 과수원의 병해충 관리 실태 및 생물 다양성)

  • This study was conducted to survey the current pest occurrence and grower's pest management practices, and to investigate biodiversity including birds, snakes, rodents, and amphibians in organic pear orchards. From the questionnaires and field survey of 22 organic orchards in 2010, the materials such as lime sulphur, plant extracts and their mixtures with microorganisms, and oils were preferred over insecticides. Scab, mealybugs, woollybugs and barkminers were the major pests for organic pear growers. Environment-friendly fungicides and insecticides were applied 9 to 10 and 5 to 6 times respectively. Incidence and severity of scab on Niitaka pear fruits in organic orchards was higher than in conventional ones. Whereas for mealybugs there was no significant difference between organic and conventional orchards. Pear fruits in organic orchards were significantly smaller than those of non-organic orchards. For the biodiversity of amphibians, snakes, pheasants, and rodents, there was no significant difference between organic and conventional orchards, but Rufous turtle doves were monitored more in organic areas than in conventional ones.
