  • The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there were difference between gender of engineering students in terms of academic achievement, self-efficacy and engineering self-efficacy. A total of 387 engineering students (male=284, female=103) completed the self-efficacy and engineering self-efficacy test. And students self-reported their grade point average(GPA) in their former semester. The results of t-test with gender about academic achievement indicated that there were not differences in academic achievement between gender. The results of MANOVA with grades indicated that there were differences in self-efficacy and engineering self-efficacy between gender. Male students scored significantly higher than female students in self-efficacy, and engineering self-efficacy.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the difference of problem-solving ability according to student's level of self-efficacy. Participants were 72 junior students who took the course 'Environmental Instrumental Analysis'. Before the PBL activities, students were given the self-efficacy tests to all students. Among them, 44 students(30% of each high and low ranking) were selected and encouraged to complete pre-problem solving tests. The PBL was conducted for 12 weeks using blended learning strategies. After the PBL, 44students completed post-problem solving tests. Results showed that there were differences of problem-solving ability according to student's level of self-efficacy. From the results, instructional strategies for promoting students' self-efficacy should be employed for enhancing problem-solving ability in PBL activities.

  • This study aims to investigate the effects of pre-service elementary teachers' scientific self-efficacy by science motivation according to the academic track in high school. The subjects of this study were 525 pre-service elementary teachers of which 350 pre-service elementary teachers were selected from the humanities and social sciences track in high school and 175 pre-service elementary teachers were selected from the science-engineering track in high school. In order to investigate the difference between scientific self-efficacy and science motivation among pre-service elementary teachers, Independent sample t-test and Cohen's d were done. In order to find out about the Influencing of scientific self-efficacy on science motivation, multiple regression analysis was used. The results of this study were as follows: First, there were statistically significant differences in scientific self-efficacy and science motivation, and the average of pre-service elementary teachers who selected science-engineering were significantly higher. Second, explanation power of scientific self-efficacy on science motivation appeared as 66.7~68.3%. The explanatory power of pre-service elementary teachers' who selected humanities and social sciences were higher. The relative importance was high in task difficulty preference factor to humanities and social sciences, was high in self-regulation efficacy to science-engineering. In conclusion, in order for pre-service elementary teachers to achieve high achievement and motivation in science subjects, and to teach science well to students in the school field, teacher education that can improve scientific self-efficacy should be conducted.

  • This thesis is for understanding what women engineer need educational support through the research of motivation when women engineer apply 'engineering college', choosing their major and also, self-efficacy. We collect data through 108 people University of K students and 104 students in D University both of them are located in metropolitan area. In the same way, research 101 students who are attending National university C in Chungchung-do, 104 students in Keungsang-do national university of C and 119 students of J National university belonging in Jeju-do whole number is 536. The questionnaire has corrected and supplied through the Doctor Kim thesis(2004) by two doctors of education. The questionnaire has 5 questions for motivation and 26 questions for self-efficacy and we started research from Sep. 1. until Sep. 26. in 2008. As the result of research, firstly the students who have aptitude for engineering or engineering major show more understanding, less give up when they against difficulty, more talent for studying than the students without aptitude. Secondly the students who decide to apply 'engineering college' before taking entrance examination can compare with the students who decide after taking test. Consequently, already decided before taking test students have more higher self-efficacy.

  • This study aimed to confirm the conditional effect of goal difficulty on the relationship between self-efficacy, career identity, and career commitment of workers in domestic companies. A survey targeting 500 employees of domestic companies was conducted to measure self-efficacy, career identity, career commitment, and goal difficulty. Data were analyzed using MPlus and SPSS PROCESS Macro. The results are as follows. First, self-efficacy was found to have a significant positive effect on career identity and career commitment. Additionally, career identity was found to have a significantly positive effect on career commitment. Second, the mediating effect of career identity on the relationship between self-efficacy and career commitment was significant and moderated by the level of goal difficulty. Based on the above research results, the academic and practical implications are presented.

  • Social network service (SNS) using mobile or web is growing rapidly, and the emergence of various platform services is causing innovative changes in social network service (SNS). This study is to identify the target relation factors of social network users and to empirically study the causal relationship of how much these factors affect user satisfaction through pleasure and self-efficacy. To present an effective and efficient development plan in. In order to empirically verify the research model of this study, a survey was conducted with the general public who had experience using social network services (SNS). Path analysis was performed. As a result, it was possible to verify the correlation of the object relational factors on user satisfaction through pleasure and self-efficacy.First, non-excluded had a significant effect on pleasure, but did not significantly affect self-efficacy. Second, stability attachment did not significantly affect both enjoyment and self-efficacy. Third, social ability did not significantly affect both enjoyment and self-efficacy. Fourth, self-centeredness did not have a significant effect on both enjoyment and self-efficacy. Fifth, pleasure had a significant effect on both self-efficacy and user satisfaction. Sixth, self-efficacy had a significant effect on user satisfaction.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among academic self-efficacy, learning time and environment management, teaching efficacy, flow and satisfaction of cyber university students. For this purpose, the 317 students of W cyber university were participated in the web-survey systems for two weeks at the end of the first semester in 2011. The results of this study through multiple regression analysis indicated that academic self-efficacy, learning time and environment management, and teaching efficacy significantly predicted on flow(${\beta}$=.712, p<.05) and satisfaction(${\beta}$=.531, p<.05). In addition to this, flow was used as a significant mediated variable in the relationships among academic self-efficacy, learning time and environment management, teaching efficacy, and satisfaction. Based on these study results, effective management strategies for improving cyber university students' learning achievement and satisfaction were proposed.
