공작기계 이송계의 동적 시뮬레이션 모델의 개발

  • 최근 컴퓨터 기술의 급속한 발전과 함께, 생산품질의 향상과 생산주기의 단축을 목적으로 유한요소법(FEM)과 다물체 동역학(multi-body dynamics)과 같은 시뮬레이션 기술(math-based engineering)이 산업계 전반에 폭넓게 적용되고 있다. 생산시스템 분야에서는 디지털 생산기술(digital manufacturing) 및 가상 생산기술(virtual manufacturing)의 개념이 소개되면서 생산시스템의 모델링 및 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구가 활발히 시도되고 있다. 그러나 아직까지 대부분의 시뮬레이션 기술이 구조해석과 같은 제한적으로 부문에서만 활용되고 있는 실정이며, 시뮬레이션 모델은 대상이 되었던 몇몇 특수한 경우에 제한적으로 사용될 수 있는 등의 한계를 보여 왔다.(중략)

  • Feed drive systems are used to position the machine tool components carrying the cutting tool and workpiece to the desired location. Hence, their positioning accuracy and speed determine the quality and productivity of machine tools. In this paper, technical trend of machine tools feed drive systems are analyzed by patent mapping. And this paper suggested future development direction of feed drive systems. The analysis is carried out by using problem solution map (PSM) for the applied patent during January 2000 and December 2009 in Korea, Japan, EU and U.S.A.

  • In Part 2, dynamic cutting force model, thermal behavior model, and feed drive model are presented for development of a virtual machine tool. Some relevant results with brief descriptions for each model are presented to verify the proposed models. Experimental results for each model agreed well with the estimated ones. The developed models in this two-part paper are partially integrated as a comprehensive software environment.

복합공작기계의 이송계 운동정밀도 측정의 연구 (A Study on the Measurement of Motion Accuracy for Feed Drive System of Multi-task Machine Tool)

  • Recently, the machine tools called multi-task machines, which mounted rotary axes on the table or spindle are used increasingly. Accordingly, multi-task machine tool takes a growing interest on the motion accuracy of feed drive system. In this study, measurement and diagnosis of motion errors ware attempted from circular pattern obtained by using DBB (Double ball bar) device. Those were obtained at both clockwise and counter clockwise motions in mutually perpendicularly intersecting three planes. The reliability of error measurement system for multi-task machine tool was verified by the direct test cutting.

  • In the feed drive systems of machine tools that consist of many mechanical components such as motor, coupling, ballscrew, nut or table, a torsional vibration is often generated because of its elastic elements in torque transmission. Generally, the accuracy of motion control system is strongly influenced by the dynamic behavior of coupled transmission components. Especially, a torsional vibration caused by the elasticity of mechanical elements might deteriorate the quick movement of system and lead to shorten the life time of the mechanical transmission elements. So, it is necessary to analyze the electromechanical system mathematically to optimize the dynamic characteristics of the feed system. In this paper, the mathematical model of a feed drive system was developed and its mechanical characteristics were analyzed on the basis of the proposed model. The design concepts of speed control loop to stabilize a feed drive system were also proposed.

  • One of the most important performance criteria related to the gain tuning of controller for CNC machining center is the contour error. This study analyzed circular error by the axis-matched and mismatched cases. To reduce ellipse and radius error, it is necessary to set the gain for each axis to be same bandwidth and high response. Based on the analysis in the frequency domain, we simulate feed system by mathematical model and then predict bandwidth of each axis. For analysis of structure vibration while the each axis is moving, we try the various of measuring method and position loop is improved by jerk limit.
