FEG Development of MCR HVAC System for NPP (원자력발전소 주제어실 공기조화계통 기능적설비그룹 개발)

  • Functional Equipment Group(FEG) of Nuclear Power Plant(NPP) is the bundling of multiple equipment subcomponents around a major equipment with a common system isolation characteristic or out-of-service consideration. The main purpose of FEG is to reduce out-of-service time to enhance maintenance effectiveness. KHNP(Korea hydro & Nuclear Power Co.) needs to develop these FEGs to successfully perform On-line Maintenance(OLM) which will be expected to institute in the future. Recently, there has been growing interest in OLM in KHNP. The aim of this paper is to suggest the way of FEG development and to build the FEG of MCR(Main Control Room) HVAC(Heat, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system. The results of this study might be make good use of OLM and be helpful for equipment maintenance for MCR HVAC system.

  • 전열교환기는 최근 대형건물 및 생산공장 등의 에너지 다소비 장소의 공기조화설비의 에너지 절감기기로서 크게 각광 받고 있다. 그 중에서도 특히 알루미늄 박판에 실리카-겔 분말을 코팅한 Honey comb형 로터는 현열 및 잠열 즉 전열을 흡수할 수 있어 폐에너지 회수용 전열교환기의 전열소자로서 점차 이용되고 있다. 그러나 국내에서는 현재까지 전열교환기의 핵심부품인 상기 로터를 전량 수입에 의존하여 왔다. 본 연구에서는 백륜공업(주)와 공동출연으로 실리카-겔 분말 코팅된 알루미늄 소재 박판만 수입하여 성형공정 기술을 개선, 향상시켜 국산로터의 시제품을 제작하고 그 성능을 시험하여 수입로터와 비교, 평가하였다. 연구결과, 국산개발 알루미늄 로터 시제품의 전열효율이 수입로터 보다 급배기 조건에 따라 1~5%정도 향상되었다. 또한 알루미늄 로터의 최적운전조건(11-13 r.p.m) 및 급배기 공기량비에 대한 적정조건도 연구결과로 얻어졌다.

  • 건물의 고도화 및 최첨단 공조시스템에 있어서 공기 조화기는 가장 핵심적인 장비로서 고장의 전도는 비교적 단순하나 요소기술의 적용, 운전, 유지관리에서 소홀하게 되 면 환경 업무의 저하와 생산성이 낮아지고 막대한 비용을 초래하기도 한다 . 고장은 설비시스템과 공조기의 사용기간이 길어짐에 따라 마모, 피로 등의 물리적 성능열화가 진행되며 이러한 물리적 열화가 최종적으로 나타나는 현상이 고장이다. 고장의 시간적 변화에는 초기고장, 우발고장, 마모고장으로 분류되며 초기고장은 시스템의 불안정에 따른 원인으로 시운전시에 자주 발생하고 정상적인 운전시에 발생되는 우발고장이 기간이 지나면 마모 고장기에 도달하게되며 이때는 부품의 한계수명과 마모등의 원인으로 고장률이 급격히 증가된다 따라서 본문에서는 공조시스템의 공기조차기의 팬과 펌프 기기의 고장원인을 살펴보고 이에 대한 고장을 신속하게 감시할 수 있는 방안을 일반적일 고찰을 통해 체계적이고 종합적인 대응방안을 소개하여 불필요한 보수비용의 발생과 생산성 저하를 방지하고 내구년수를 증가할 수 있는 신기술의 일부분을 소개하고자 한다.

A Study on the Heat Transfer Characteristics of Liquid Droplet Radiator for Air Conditioning (공기조화용 액적방열기의 열전달특성에 관한 연구)

  • In general existing air conditioning devices, which are carried out by convection heat transfer, are very popular compared with the radiation type air conditioning devices. But perconal convection tpe air conditioning units are unuseful air conditioning type because it handles amount of surrounded air to meet the temperature and humidity. In this view, this study is intended to develope personal dir conditioning units using a radiation type radiator. Liquid Droplet Radiator(L.P.R.) radiates the energy by means of thermal radiation. Radiative energy from L.P.R. is the infrared rays which heat the objects without lose of energy. It is a desirable heating method for the local area within the large room. In this study, the analysis uses the Monte Carlo methd to predict the temperature distribution in the droplet sheet and the net heat flux from the L.D.R.. And for this study and experiment was carried out to analyse the radiative and convective heat transfer characteristics in the L.D.R.. And the experiment was investigated the effects of inlet temperature, feed rate, optical thickness and droplet diameter on heat transfer characteristics of L.D.R.. The obtained results from the numerical and experimental studies of L.D.R. were as follows ; (1) The heat flux of L.D.R. was effected by extinction coefficient of droplet sheet, optical thickness and droplet temperature, surface area and emissivity of the droplet. And it was increased with the temperature, feed rate and optical thickness, on the other hand decreased with increasing of droplet diameter. (2) The experimental results for heat flux was ecalucted below 20% than that of the numerical solution by Monte Carlo method, but the tendency of the variation shows relatively good agreement.

Analysis of Loss of HVAC for Nuclear Power Plant (원전의 공기조화설비(HVAC) 상실사고 분석방법)

  • Environmental qualification (EQ) for safety-related equipment is required to ensure that those equipment will perform their required function even under the harsh environment conditions arising from design basis accident in the nuclear power plant. As a part of EQ program, the room temperature analysis in case of a loss of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning(HVAC) system was carried out to ensure the operability of the safety-related equipment of a nuclear power plant randomly chosen among the Korean nuclear power plants. In this paper, this analysis was performed in the conservative perspective using GOTHIC code. The room temperature analysis includes selecting the rooms in which the safety related equipment are located but not supported by safety related HVAC and determining the temperature of the selected rooms. Target rooms for the analysis consist of W229/W237 (Aux. feedwater pump room), W232 (Aux. feedwater tank room) and W230 (Equipment passageway). The results showed the temperature range from $43^{\circ}C$ to $83^{\circ}C$, in 72 hours after a loss of HVAC. Those values are far below of generic EQ temperature($171^{\circ}C$). Therefore, it is satisfied with EQ requirement of temperature limits on safety related equipment.

Design Development of wall mount type air purifier (벽걸이 형식을 도입한 공기청정기 디자인 개발)

  • This study is for the design developement of wall mount air purification device used for pleasant and clean resident environment. As more people have the high standard of living, they are interested in the air quality of indoor environment, since it is believed its relationship with human health. Now the social demand of air purifier is increasing. Its market is growing and there are various design products in the market. However, dominant current products are floor-based standing type, it needs much spaces to install for the air inhalation and exhaust. Therefore, this product provides the space-saved design. Its concept comes from existing wall mount type air conditioners. The effect of wall decoration is another merit of this proposal. It has an easy filtering change and cleaning system and a simple operation of multiple functions. This product also has the perfect-matched slim design that is consist of natural curves with rectangle for any indoor spaces.

Characteristics of Energy Consumption in an Office Building located in Seoul (사무소건물의 용도 및 측정기간에 따른 에너지 소비 특성)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the characteristics and actual state of energy consumption by the analysis of energy consumption data in an office building. This study examines and analyzes daily and monthly energy consumption of an office building located in Seoul, Korea regarding type of load and business classification within a building. The results are as follows. 1) Energy consumption of office building for each type of load show similar consumption patterns, regardless of seasons such as cooling period and heating period. 2) Out of all annual energy consumption, consumption for lighting took about $43\;\%,$ general electric Power about $23\;\%,$ emergency power $25\;\%,$ computer center $5\;\%$ and cooling power $4\;\%,$ showing that the consumption for lighting was highest, and the percentage of energy consumption for cooling power for operation of cooling facilities took the lowest percentage. 3) Annual gas consumption used for heating and hot water supply were $38,\;36\;\%$ for officetel and office respectively, and $26\;\%$ for arcade. 4) Electricity consumptions used for cooling power for each use of building, office and officetel recorded in July and August of cooling seasons. Even though it shows different patterns for each month, energy consumption showed unique pattern throughout the cooling seasons.

Performance Estimation of Hybrid Solar Air-Water Heater on Single Working of Heating Medium (복합형 태양열 가열기에서 열매체 단일운전에 따른 기기성능 평가)

  • Research about hybrid solar air-water heater that can make heated air and hot water was conducted as a part of improving efficiency of solar thermal energy. At this experiment, ability of making heating air and hot water was investigated and compared with traditional solar air heater and flat plate solar collector for hot water when air or liquid was heated respectively. Comparing hybrid solar air-water heater that used in this experiment to other solar air heater studied already, it has a lower efficiency at same mass flow rate. Air channel structure, fin's shape and arrangement in the air channel result in these difference then the ability of air heating need to be improved with changing these thing. In case of making hot water, performance was shown as similar with traditional system although the air channels were established beneath absorbing plate. But the heat loss coefficient was shown higher value by installing of air channel. Also the performance of hot water making was shown lower value at same liquid mass flow rate with traditional flat plate solar collector for hot water. So the necessity of performance improvement at lower mass flow rate of each heating medium can be confirmed.
