공구 경사각의 변화에 따른 연질 재료(Cu alloy and Al alloy)의 절삭 특성에 관한 연구 (A study on the cutting character of soft materials(Cu alloy and Al alloy) with change of tool rake angles)

  • 제품생산의 고정밀화 및 고품질화로 정밀 절삭가공에서 공구의 형사에 따라 많은 변수가 있으므로 공구의 상면 경사각을 변화시키면서 절삭저항, 비절삭저항, 거칠기 등을 energy mothod에 의하여 최적조건을 구한 결과(6-4) brass 에서는 경사각 20.deg., 25.deg.에서 Al alloy 에서는 0.deg., 20.deg.에서 가장 작게 나타났으며 거칠기는 (6-4)brass 에서는 경사각 20.deg. 에서 Al alloy에서는 15.deg.에서 가장 작게 나타났다.

  • In this study, the effect of tool rake angles and the change of cutting conditions on specific cutting pressure in face milling is investigated. The cutting force in face milling is predicted from the double cutting edge model in 3-dimensional cutting. Conventional specific cutting pressure model is modified by considering the variation of tool rake angles. Effectiveness of the modified cutting force model is verified by the experiments using special face milling cutters with different cutter pockets and various rake angles. From the comparison of the pressented model and the specific cutting pressure, it is shown that the axial force can be predicted by the tangential and redial forces without the knowledge of friction angle and shear angle. Also, the relation between specific cutting pressure and cutting cindition including feedrate, cutting velocity and depth of cut is studied.

  • High speed machining is a key issue in die and mold manufacturing recently. Even though this technology has great potential of high productivity. tool wear accelerated by high cutting speed to the hardened materials is other barrier. In this research, we attempted to reduce tool wear by considering tool inclination angle between tool and workpiece. The boundary lines describing machined sculptured surfaces were represented by both of cutting envelop condition and the geometric relationship of successive tool paths. Chip cross section, and cutting length could be obtained from the calculated cutting edge and the rotational engagement angle. From the simulation results, machining inclination angle of tool of $15^\circ$ was good enough from the point of tool wear and cutting force, and this value was verified through the cutting experiment of high speed ball end milling.

  • 엔드밀은 산업현장에서 정밀 금형과 다이 제조 시 넓게 사용되는 절삭 공구이며 공작기계의 향상에 따라 많은 발전을 거듭해 왔다 공작기계의 고속화에 따라 공작기계의 측면에서는 강성 증가, 열변형의 억제와 동적 안정성의 개선 및 응답성 개선을 통하여 정밀도를 향상시키고 이송속도와 절삭속도의 증가를 통해 생산성을 증대시키고 있으며 공구의 측면에서는 새로운 재종 및 코팅기법의 개발을 통해 공구수명의 향상을 달성하고 있다. 또한 공구형상의 최적화를 통해 동적 안정성을 확보하고 가공 정밀도를 개선하고자 하는 다양한 시도가 이루어지고 있다.(중략)

Using various tools with different geometry, relationships between tool geometry parameter (rake angle, clearance angle, length of cutter) and cutting process (cutting force, surface accuracy, surface roughness) have been studied. Acquired data can be used to design optimal tool for high speed machining and developed tool geometry design S/W.

  • 형상적응형 냉각회로를 구비한 사출금형 및 히트 싱크를 가지는 절삭공구 (혹은 냉각 장치) 등과 같은 많은 응용 분야에서 기능성 경사 복합재(FGM)를 사용하여 필요한 강성을 약화시키지 않으면서 열전도 특성을 향상 시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 본 논문에서는 M2 공구강과 Cu 간의 FGM 히트 싱크를 가지는 절삭 공구 제작을 위한 기초연구로, M2 와 Cu 를 각각 100:0, 80:20, 60:40, 40:60, 20:80, 0:100 wt% 비율로 사전에 혼합한 금속분말을 분말야금법으로 가압성형 및 소결 제작 하였다. 각 시편의 단면을 광학현미경으로 관찰하여 소결 상태를 분석하였으며, 열전도도, 비열 및 열팽창계수 등 열전달 관련물성을 측정하고 분석하였다.

  • The objective of this research is to use an analytical and experimental approach to develop optimal tool geometry for high speed machining. The tool geometry parameters and cutting process have complex relationships. Until now, numerous cutting tests were needed to acquire optimal design of endmill for the purpose of high speed machining, dut to the insufficient knowledge about process in high speed machining. In order to improve the cutting ability of endmill, a model for optimal cutter shape was developed to minimize resultant cutting force by combing cutting force and wear test and surface roughness test from optimized and conventional cutter with the same cutting condition. Using various tools with different geometry, relationships between the tool geometry parameter, rake angle, clearance angle, lengh of cutter have been stuied.
