Joye et al. introduced a new prime generation algorithm (JPV algorithm hereafter), by removing the trial division from the previous combined prime generation algorithm (combined algorithm hereafter) and claimed that JPV algorithm is $30{\sim}40%$ faster than the combined algorithm. However, they only compared the number of Fermat-test calls, instead of comparing the total running times of two algorithms. The reason why the total running times could not be compared is that there was no probabilistic analysis on the running time of the JPV algorithm even though there was a probabilistic analysis for the combined algorithm. In this paper, we present a probabilistic analysis on the running time of the JPV algorithm. With this analytic model, we compare the running times of the JPV algorithm and the combined algorithm. Our model predicts that JPV algorithm is slower than the combined algorithm when a 512-bit prime is generated on a Pentium 4 system. Although our prediction is contrary to the previous prediction from comparing Fermat-test calls, our prediction corresponds to the experimental results more exactly. In addition, we propose a method to improve the JPV algorithm. With this method, the JPV algorithm can be comparable to the combined algorithm with the same space requirement.

A modular exponentiation( E$M^{$=varepsilon$}$mod N) is one of the most important operations in Public-key cryptography. However, it takes much time because the modular exponentiation deals with very large operands as 512-bit integers. Modular exponentiation is composed of repetition of modular multiplications, and the number of repetition is the same as the length of the addition-chain of the exponent(E). Therefore, we can reduce the execution time of modular exponentiation by finding shorter addition-chain(i.e. reducing the number of repetitions) or by reducing the execution time of each modular multiplication. In this paper, we propose an addition-chain heuristics and two fast modular multiplication algorithms. Of two modular multiplication algorithms, one is for modular multiplication between different integers, and the other is for modular squaring. The proposed addition-chain heuristics finds the shortest addition-chain among exisiting algorithms. Two proposed modular multiplication algorithms require single-precision multiplications fewer than 1/2 times of those required for previous algorithms. Implementing on PC, proposed algorithms reduce execution times by 30-50% compared with the Montgomery algorithm, which is the best among previous algorithms.

XTR is a new method to represent elements of a subgroup of a multiplicative group of a finite field GF( $p^{6m}$) and it can be generalized to the field GF( $p^{6m}$)$^{[6,9]}$ This paper progress optimal extention fields for XTR among Galois fields GF ( $p^{6m}$) which can be aplied to XTR. In order to select such fields, we introduce a new notion of Generalized Opitimal Extention Fields(GOEFs) and suggest a condition of prime p, a defining polynomial of GF( $p^{2m}$) and a fast method of multiplication in GF( $p^{2m}$) to achieve fast finite field arithmetic in GF( $p^{2m}$). From our implementation results, GF( $p^{36}$ )longrightarrowGF( $p^{12}$ ) is the most efficient extension fields for XTR and computing Tr( $g^{n}$ ) given Tr(g) in GF( $p^{12}$ ) is on average more than twice faster than that of the XTR system on Pentium III/700MHz which has 32-bit architecture.$^{[6,10]/ [6,10]/6,10]}$

With the rapid growth of the wireless Internet communication, a new generation of mobile devices have made possible the broad distribution of mobile digital contents, such as image, music, video, games and applications over the wireless Internet. Mobile devices are rapidly becoming the major means to extend communication channels without copy Protection, usage rule controlling and authentication. As a result, mobile digital contents may be illegally altered, copied and distributed among unauthorized mobile devices. In this paper, we take a look at Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) DRM v2.0 in general, its purpose and function. The OMA is uniquely the focal point for development of an open standard for mobile DRM. Next we introduces features for an active content and illustrates the difference between an active content and an inactive content. Enabling fast rendering of an active content, we propose an OMA-based DRM framework. This framework include the following: 1) Extending DCF Header for supporting an selective encryption, 2) Content encryption key management, 3) Rendering API for an active content. Experimental results show that the proposed framework is able to render an active content fast enough to satisfy Quality of Experience. %is framework has been proposed for a mobile device environment, but it is also applicable to other devices, such as portable media players, set-top boxes, or personal computer.

The development of IT technology and information communication networks activated to online financial transactions; the users were able to get a variety of financial services. However, unlike the positive effect that occurred on 7 July 2009 DDoS(Distribute Denial of Service) attacks, such as damaging to the user, which was caused negative effects. Authentication technology(OTP) is used to online financial transaction, which should be reviewed to safety with various points because the unpredictable attacks can bypass the authentication procedure such as phishing sites, which is occurred. Thus, this paper proposes mobile OTP(One Time Password) Mechanism, which is based on PKI to improve the safety of OTP authentication. The proposed Mechanism is operated based on PKI; the secret is transmitted safely through signatures and public key encryption of the user and the authentication server. The users do not input in the web site, but the generated OTP is directly transmitted to the authentication server. Therefore, it is improvement of the availability of the user and the resolved problem is exposed from the citibank phishing site(USA) in 2006.

Signcryption is a cryptographic primitive which offers authentication and confidentiality simultaneously with a cost lower than signing and encrypting the message independently. We propose a new cryptographic notion called Identity-based online/offline signcryption. The notion of online/offline scheme can be divided into two phases, the first phase is performed offline prior to the arrival of a message to be signed or encrypted and the second phase is performed online phase after knowing the message and the public key of recipient. The Online phase does not require any heavy computations such as pairings or exponents. It is particularly suitable for power-constrained devices such as smart cards. In this paper, we propose ID-based signcryption scheme and ID-based online/offline signcryption scheme where the confidentiality and authenticity are simultaneously required to enable a secure and trustable communication environment. To our best knowledge, this is the first ID-based online/offline signcryption scheme that can be proven secure in the standard model.
Lattice-based cryptography is the most practical post-quantum cryptography because it enjoys strong worst-case security, relatively efficient implementation, and simplicity. Ring learning with errors (R-LWE) is a public key encryption (PKE) method of lattice-based encryption (LBC), and the most important operation of R-LWE is the modular polynomial multiplication of rings. This paper proposes a method for optimizing modular multipliers based on approximate computing (AC) technology, targeting the medium-security parameter set of the R-LWE cryptosystem. First, as a simple way to implement complex logic, LUT is used to omit some of the approximate multiplication operations, and the 2's complement method is used to calculate the number of bits whose value is 1 when converting the value of the input data to binary. We propose a total of two methods to reduce the number of required adders by minimizing them. The proposed LUT-based modular multiplier reduced both speed and area by 9% compared to the existing R-LWE modular multiplier, and the modular multiplier using the 2's complement method reduced the area by 40% and improved the speed by 2%. appear. Finally, the area of the optimized modular multiplier with both of these methods applied was reduced by up to 43% compared to the previous one, and the speed was reduced by up to 10%.
The public-key cryptosystems such as Diffie-Hellman Key Distribution and Elliptical Curve Cryptosystems are built on the basis of the operations defined in GF(2$^{m}$ ):addition, subtraction, multiplication and multiplicative inversion. It is important that these operations should be computed at high speed in order to implement these cryptosystems efficiently. Among those operations, as being the most time-consuming, multiplicative inversion has become the object of lots of investigation Formant's theorem says $\beta$$^{-1}$ =$\beta$$^{2}$sup m/-2/, where $\beta$$^{-1}$ is the multiplicative inverse of $\beta$$\in$GF(2$^{m}$ ). Therefore, to compute the multiplicative inverse of arbitrary elements of GF(2$^{m}$ ), it is most important to reduce the number of times of multiplication by decomposing 2$^{m}$ -2 efficiently. Among many algorithms relevant to the subject, the algorithm proposed by Itoh and Tsujii[2] has reduced the required number of times of multiplication to O(log m) by using normal basis. Furthermore, a few papers have presented algorithms improving the Itoh and Tsujii's. However they have some demerits such as complicated decomposition processes[3,5]. In this paper, in the case of 2$^{m}$ -2, which is mainly used in practical applications, an efficient algorithm is proposed for computing the multiplicative inverse at high speed by using both the factorization formula x$^3$-y$^3$=(x-y)(x$^2$+xy+y$^2$) and normal basis. The number of times of multiplication of the algorithm is smaller than that of the algorithm proposed by Itoh and Tsujii. Also the algorithm decomposes 2$^{m}$ -2 more simply than other proposed algorithms.
In recent years, the security of hardware and software systems is one of the most essential factor of our safe network community. As elliptic Curve Cryptosystems proposed by N. Koblitz and V. Miller independently in 1985, require fewer bits for the same security as the existing cryptosystems, for example RSA, there is a net reduction in cost size, and time. In this thesis, we propose an efficient hardware architecture of underlying field arithmetic processor for Elliptic Curve Cryptosystems, and a very useful method for implementing the architecture, especially multiplicative inverse operator over GF$GF (2^m)$ onto FPGA and futhermore VLSI, where the method is based on optimized unit operation components. We optimize the arithmetic processor for speed so that it has a resonable number of gates to implement. The proposed architecture could be applied to any finite field $F_{2m}$. According to the simulation result, though the number of gates are increased by a factor of 8.8, the multiplication speed We optimize the arithmetic processor for speed so that it has a resonable number of gates to implement. The proposed architecture could be applied to any finite field $F_{2m}$. According to the simulation result, though the number of gates are increased by a factor of 8.8, the multiplication speed and inversion speed has been improved 150 times, 480 times respectively compared with the thesis presented by Sarwono Sutikno et al. [7]. The designed underlying arithmetic processor can be also applied for implementing other crypto-processor and various finite field applications.

Since 1950, the city of Yokohama has been demanding the return of US. military base sites in Yokohama. Yokohama has established a systematic utilization plan for these relocation sites. The Fukaya communication site is one of former US. military bases verified for return in 2004. The Fukaya communication site is distinctively circular in shape and is entirely national land. Yokohama took an idea competition to its citizens to create a new park at the relocation of the Fukaya communication site, involving lots of citizen opinion in its utilization goals. This study determined the process of the idea competition at the Fukaya communication site in encouraging civic participation and analyzing citizen demands for the utilization of the relocation site. Through the idea competition, Yokohama city was able to obtain several ideas on the new park from various angles such as the function and shape of the urban open spaces. Citizens showed great interest in creating a park as green infrastructure on the Fukaya communication site. In addition, beyond utilization as an urban open space, many ideas suggested new lifestyles for the region in connection with the natural environment in the vicinity. Yokohama city tried to share the process and results of the idea competition with as many citizens as it could through a variety of means such as Participation, Judging, Support, Observation and Understanding. The case study on the idea competition at the Fukaya communication site is a good example of community design practice in public projects, and is full of suggestions for military bases in Korea, which has just established the plan of utilizing relocation sites as parks. Based on this case study, it can be concluded that it is important to make a systemic form for utilization planning with a clear process, open information and partnership in a variety of participatory design processes in order to ensure maximum civic utilization of relocation sites.
