AN ALGORITHM FOR PRIMITIVE NORMAL BASIS IN FINITE FIELDS (유한체에서의 원시 정규기저 알고리즘의 구현과 응용에 관한 연구)

  • GF(2m) 이론은 switching 이론과 컴퓨터 연산, 오류 정정 부호(error correcting codes), 암호학(cryptography) 등에 대한 폭넓은 응용 때문에 주목을 받아 왔다. 특히 유한체에서의 이산 대수(discrete logarithm)는 one-way 함수의 대표적인 예로서 Massey-Omura Scheme을 비롯한 여러 암호에서 사용하고 있다. 이러한 암호 system에서는 암호화 시간을 동일하게 두면 고속 연산은 유한체의 크기를 크게 할 수 있어 비도(crypto-degree)를 향상시킨다. 따라서 고속 연산의 필요성이 요구된다. 1981년 Massey와 Omura가 정규기저(normal basis)를 이용한 고속 연산 방법을 제시한 이래 Wang, Troung 둥 여러 사람이 이 방법의 구현(implementation) 및 곱셈기(Multiplier)의 설계에 힘써왔다. 1988년 Itoh와 Tsujii는 국제 정보 학회에서 유한체의 역원을 구하는 획기적인 방법을 제시했다. 1987년에 H, W. Lenstra와 Schoof는 유한체의 임의의 확대체는 원시정규기저(primitive normal basis)를 갖는다는 것을 증명하였다. 1991년 Stepanov와 Shparlinskiy는 유한체에서의 원시원소(primitive element), 정규기저를 찾는 고속 연산 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 이 논문에서는 원시 정규기저를 찾는 Algorithm을 구현(Implementation)하고 이것이 응용되는 문제들에 관해서 연구했다.

Hardware Architecture of Timing Synchronization for IEEE 802.11n Wireless LAN Systems (IEEE 802.11n 무선 LAN 시스템의 시간 동기화 하드웨어 구조)

  • In this paper, we propose a timing synchronization scheme and its hardware architecture of the next generation IEEE 802.11n wireless LAN standard which is based on MIMO-OFDM technique. Proposed timing synchronization method takes two steps which consist of two modified auto-correlators. For coarse timing synchronization, a sliding window differentiator is used after a conventional auto-correlation in order to avoid plateau problem. The conjugate symmetry property of L-LTS is utilized for the simplification of fine timing synchronization. Since cross-correlation based methods are not required, the computational complexity and the number of multipliers can be reduced. In order to reduce the hardware complexity, we have used sign multipliers. Based on simulation results, the proposed method outperforms a conventional method. The proposed scheme can be applied to IEEE 802.11n systems and can easily be expanded to frequency synchronization scheme.

High-speed Integer Fuzzy Operations Without Multiplications and Divisions (곱셈, 나눗셈이 필요 없는 고속 정수 퍼지 연산)

  • In a fuzzy control system to vocess fuzzy data in high-speed for intelligent systems, one of the important problems is the improvement of the execution speed in the fuzzy inference and defuzzification stages. Especially, it is more important to have high-speed operations in the consequent Pan and defuzzification stage. Therefore, in this paper, to improve the speedup of the fuzzy controllers for intelligent systems, we propose novel integer fuzzy operation method without mulitplications and divisions by only integer addition to convert real values in the fuzzy membership functions in the consequent part to integer grid pixels $(400{\times}30)$ without [0, 1] real operations. Also we apply the proposed system to the truck backer-upper control system. As a result, this system shows a real-time very high speed fuzzy control as compared as the conventional methods. This system will be applied to the real-time high-speed intelligent systems such as robot arm control.

A Study on the mathematical notation of expression in terms of skipping the parenthesis (괄호 생략 관점에서 식의 표기에 관한 고찰)

  • This study investigated the mathematical notation used today in terms of skip ping the parenthesis. At first we have studied the elementary and secondary curriculum content related to omitted rules. As a result, it is difficult to find explicit evidence to answer that question 'What is the calculation of the $48{\div}2(9+3)$?'. In order to inquire the notation fundamentally, we checked the characteristics on prefix, infix and postfix, and looked into the advantages and disadvantages on infix. At the same time we illuminated the development of mathematical notation from the point of view of skipping the parenthesis. From this investigation, we could check that this interpretation was smooth in the point of view that skipping the parentheses are the image of the function. Through this we proposed some teaching methods including 'teaching mathematical notation based on historic genetic principle', 'reproduction of efforts to overcome the disadvantages of infix and understand the context to choose infix', 'finding the omitted parentheses to identify the fundamental formula' and 'specifying the viewpoint that skipping the multiplication notation can be considered as an image of the function'.

Mathematising process analysis of linear function concept based on Freudenthal's didactical phenomenology (Freudenthal의 교수학적 현상학에 기반한 일차함수 개념 수학화 과정 사례 분석)

  • This study is based on Freudenthal's mathmatising process and the didactical phenomenology of linear function concept, I have described and examined the process in which students represent the constant rate of change into tables, graphs and equations and, in this way, how they construct mental objects and essence of the linear function concept. The students used the proportionality as composite units, when they represented the phenomenon with constant rate of change into tables. When representing in graphs, all but one student represented it into a line. There were differences among the students in the level they were using the given conditions, co-variation perspective, and corresponding rules when formulating equations. The students compared the relationship between two variables in a multiplicative way, and under the guidance of teachers they reached to the understanding that its relationship becomes a constant. Moreover, they could construct mental objects of a constant rate of change, understanding the situation where the relationship between time difference and distance difference becomes one value, namely speed. The students had difficulties in connecting the rate of change with the inclination of a line. The students constructed the essence (concept) of linear functions, after building and organizing the image that the rate of change is constant, the graph is linear, and the equation is formulated as y=ax+b (a: inclination, b: intercept).

Application of integer linear programming on VLSI design automation (정수선형계획법의 반도체 설계자동화에의 응용)

  • 본 논문에서는 정수선형계획법을 반도체 설계자동화과정에 이용한 예를 보인다. 반도체 설계자동화과정은 매우 여러 단계를 거치게 되는데, 본 논문에서는 상위수준 합성중 스케쥴링(scheduling)문제에 정수선형계획법을 응용하였다. 여기서 스케쥴링 문제는 설계자동화의 초기단계에서 알고리듬으로 주어진 입력을 하드웨어 요소들로 표현하는 과정에서 매 제어단계(control step)에서 수행하여야 할 연산내용을 결정하는 문제이다. 스케쥴링의 목적함수는 주어진 제어단계 갯수내에서 하드웨어 비용의 최소화이다. 이를 위해 우선 ASAP(As Soon As Possible)과 ALAP(As Late As Possible)방법을 이용하여 매 연산의 수행시작이 가능한 가장 빠른 시간과 가장 늦은 시간을 구한다. 이 두 시간 사이가 각 연산의 time frame이 되며 이를 이용하여 스케쥴링 문제를 정수 선형 계획법으로 공식화하여 풀었다. 이 공식화는 chaining, multicycle연산, pipeline data path, pipeline기능 유닛등에도 일반화하여 적용가능함을 보인다. 실험을 통해 본 공식화 방법이 기존 알고리듬에 의한 해보다 우수한 해를 제공함을 보인다. 비교를 위해 잘 알려진 benchmark회로인 bandpass filter를 이용하였는데 이 회로는 8개의 덧셈, 7개의 뺄셈 및 12개의 곱셈연산을 포함하고 있다. 제시된 알고리듬은 이 회로를 8개의 제어단계내에 총비용 675 (연산별 하드웨어 비용은 라이브러리로 주어짐)로 스케쥴링하였는데 이는 기존의 최상의 결과인 685보다 우수한 결과이다.

A Study on Children's Proportional Reasoning Based on An Ill-Structured Problem (초등수학 비구조화된 문제 해결 과정에서의 비례적 추론)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze children's proportional reasoning process on an ill-structured "architectural drawing" problem solving and to investigate their level and characteristics of proportional reasoning. As results, they showed various perspective and several level of proportional reasoning such as illogical, additive, multiplicative, and functional approach. Furthermore, they showed their expanded proportional reasoning from the early stage of perception of various types of quantities and their proportional relation in the problem to application stage of their expanded and generalized relation. Students should be encouraged to develop proportional reasoning by experiencing various quantity in ration and proportion situations.

  • CA is cost-effective to generate pseudorandom patterns than LFSR. Based on the effectiveness of a CA based pseudorandom pattern generator, CA have been employed successfully in several applications. Especially Nongroup CA is applied to efficient hash function generation, cryptography and image compression. In this paper we analyze the properties of TPNCA and by using basic paths in the 0-tree of a linear TPNCA we analyze the structure of the state-transition graph. Also by showing the structure of the complemented CA which have the acyclic state of the 0-tree as the complement vector is isomorphic to the structure of the original TPNCA, we reduce the time in analyzing the CA-states.

Binomial Filters for Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio System (인지 무선 시스템에서 스펙트럼 센싱을 위한 이항 필터)

  • In this paper, we proposed three types of binomial filter for spectrum sensing in cognitive radio system. Three filters are binomial, negative binomial and composite binomial filters and the frequency responses of their transfer functions are analyzed and the numbers of stages to meet the required attenuation are driven. As a result of performance analysis in terms of the number of stages, negative and composite binomial filters are superior to the binomial filter. Since the proposed three filters have a unified cascaded structure and are easy to be implemented without any multiplier, it is expected that they will have wide applications.

New Resonance Scattering Theory of Electromagnetic Waves for a Homogeneous Dielectric Cylinder (원통형 유전체에 대한 전자기파의 새로운 공진산란 이론)

  • The previous RST postulates that the scattering field, within each modal partial wave, comprise of the resonance and the background components. The new RST is recently developed by the product expansion of the scattering functions in the field of acoustics. The new formulation suggests that the scattering coefficients consist of resonance, non-resonance, and their interactional portions. In the scattering problems of acoustic waves, the moduli and phase of the resonance coefficient are obtained correctly by the new RST. In our recent works the new RST was successfully applied to the scattering problem of electromagnetic waves for coated conducting cylinder and sphere. In this paper, the new RST is extended to the 2-dimensional scattering problem of electromagnetic waves for a homogeneous dielectric cylinder, and the numerical results are compared with the previous RST.
