  • 제어 컴퓨터의 고장으로 인해 인명이나 재산에 치명적 영향을 미치는 safety-critical 실시간 시스템을 제어하고 모니터링하기 위해 디지털 컴퓨터의 사용은 점점 일반화되고 있다. 특히, VLSI 기술의 급격한 발달로 인해 하드웨어가 초소형화 되고 대량생산이 가능해진 현실에서 이러한 제어 컴퓨터의 극대화된 신뢰도 요구를 만족시키기 위해 막중한 하드웨어 여분(hardware redundancy)이 널리 사용되고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 N개의 다중 모듈(multi-module)로 이루어진 하드웨어 여분의 운영 모드를 분석하고 각 운영 모드에서 고장이 발생할 경우 모드의 전환과 그로 인한 신뢰도의 변화를 계산할 것이다. 그리고 간단한 시뮬레이션을 통해 전환된 여러 모드 중 가장 우수한 신뢰도를 갖는 모드를 평가하게 된다.

  • This paper proposes fault tolerant control laws using sliding mode control and adaptation laws for a satellite with reaction wheel faults. Considering system parameter errors and faults uncertainties in the dynamics of satellite, the control laws were designed. It was assumed that only reaction wheel failures occurred as faults. The reaction wheel faults were reflected in the multiply form. Because the proposed control laws satisfy the Lyapunov stability theorem, the stability is guaranteed. Through computer simulation, it was assured that the proposed adaptive sliding mode controller has a better performance than the existing sliding mode controller under unstable angular rates.

  • This paper proposed a fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) algorithm using nonlinear regression models, focusing especially on heat exchanger faults. This research concerned four working modes: those with no fault, evaporator fault, condenser fault, and evaporator and condenser faults. This research used no fault mode data to create an FDD algorithm. Using the no fault mode data, correlation functions for predicting the degree of superheat or subcool of heat exchangers (an evaporator and a condenser) were derived. Each correlation function has five inputs and one output. Based on these correlation functions, it is possible to predict the degree of superheat or subcool of each heat exchanger under various working conditions. The FDD algorithm was developed by comparing the predicted value and the simulation value. The FDD algorithm works well in all four working modes.

A Study on Aircraft Flight Stability of T-50 Control Surface Reconfiguration Mode in PA Configuration (T-50 착륙외장 형상에서 조종면 형상 재구성 모드의 항공기 비행)

  • Modern versions of supersonic jet fighter aircraft using a digital flight-by-wire flight control system design utilizes a control surface reconfiguration in order to guarantee the aircraft flight stability when a control surface is failed. The T-50 flight control laws are designed such that the surface reconfiguration mode controls the aircraft using non-failed control surfaces when one of the control surfaces is failed. In this paper, linear analysis and HQS(Handling Quality Simulator) pilot simulations are performed to analyze the flight stability and handling quality when the surface reconfiguration mode is engaged for aircraft landing configuration. It is found that the aircraft flight stability and handling quality is satisfied to level 1 requirements when the T-50 flight control law is changed to the surface reconfiguration mode.

Level Conversion Scheme for Improving Performance of RAID 5 on Single Disk Failure (단일디스크 고장시 RAID 5의 성능개선을 위한 레벨 전환 기법)

  • It is very important to recover data immediately at a single disk failure for critical applications such as multimedia storage systems. real-time systems and so on. As an efficient solution, this paper proposes that RAID level conversion scheme to improve the performance before a failed disk is replaced with a new disk. By using this scheme, it does not require an additional disk to recover data. Comparing with previous studies, this scheme is appropriate to low cost system that has not additional redundant device. The performance of proposed scheme is evaluated and analyzed with that of RAID level 5 for various requested sizes through the simulation. The results show that the performance of the proposed scheme is improved up to 20 percents compared with that of RAID level 5 at the failure mode and 80 percents at reconfigured mode.

  • 위성의 전지는 위성의 수명과 직접적인 영향을 갖고 있으며 이것의 정상동작여부에 따라 위성의 안정적인 임무수행여부가 결정된다. 상대적으로 일반화된 셀 모델링의 최근 개발은 NiH2셀의 동특성을 시뮬레이션 하기 위한 기본적인 원리에 기반을 둔 접근방식이다. 그러나 이러한 일반적인 방정식을 통해 비선형성과 전력상태를 포함하는 전지 특성을 예측하는 것은 사실상 불가능하다. 본 연구에서는 다층신경회로망을 이용하여 비선형 특성를 갖는 니켈-하이드로진 전지 특성을 모델링 하였으며, 모델링된 상수값은 위성의 식시간 동안의 전지 전력상태 분석을 위해 사용되었다. 모델링 결과의 정확성을 확인하기 위해 니켈-하이드로진 전지시험결과 분석자료와 비교 검토 되었다. 전지 동작모드는 정상동작모드와 실패모드로 나누어 분석되었다. 정상동작모드는 위성의 식시간 동안 아크젯 동작 여부에 의해 각각 분석되었으며, 또한 태양전지와 배터리 셀 일부의 고장으로 인한 실패모드에서의 전지전력상태가 분석되었다.

  • This paper presents an integrated chassis control system with fail safety using optimum yaw moment distribution for a vehicle with steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire devices. The proposed system has two-level structure: upper- and lower-level controllers. In the upper-level controller, the control yaw moment is computed with sliding mode control theory. In the lower-level controller, the control yaw moment is distributed into the tire forces of active front steering(AFS) and electronic stability control(ESC) with the weighted pseudo-inverse based control allocation(WPCA) method. By setting the variable weights in WPCA, it is possible to take the sensor/actuator failure into account. In this framework, it is necessary to optimize the variables weights in order to enhance the yaw moment distribution. For this purpose, simulation-based tuning is proposed. To show the effectiveness of the proposed method, simulations are conducted on a vehicle simulation package, CarSim.

  • Design and application of hardware-in-the-loop simulation (HILS) for design of CNC-controlled machine tool feed drives is discussed. The CNC machine tool is a complex mechatronics system where the complexity results from the software-based controller composed of a variety of functionalities and advanced control algorithms. Therefore, using a real CNC controller in the control simulation has merits considering the efforts and accuracy of the simulation modeling. In this paper challenges in HILS for a CNC controlled feed drive, such as minimization of time delay and transmission error that are caused by discretization of the feed drive model, is elaborated. Using an experimental HILS setup of a machine tool feed drive applications in controller gain selection and CNC diagnostics are presented.

Hybrid Data Recovery Technique of RAID Level 5 Architecture (RAID 레벨 5 구조의 혼합형 데이타 복구 기법)

  • For real time services of multimedia applications, storage systems should provide data without degrading their performance. Since it is very important to recover data immediately at a disk failure, the disk recovery system is required. This paper presents a hybrid recovery scheme which prevents degraded the performance on a single disk failure at RAID level 5 architecture until the failed disk is replaced with a new disk. The proposed scheme is very economical compared to previous spare disk schemes because it does not use extra disks. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated and analyzed with that of the RAID level 5 for various requested sizes through the simulation. The results show that the performance of the proposed scheme is improved up to 20 percents at the failure mode and 80 percents at the reconfigured mode. After a multimedia server system has been built with a RAID controller and hard disks, the data recovery performance of the propose scheme are compared with the results of simulation.

  • In this paper, I studied the "Establishment of Fault Tolerant System" as well as the sensor and cylinder that are general components being used in automation equipments. I design a system that when the sensor breaks down on free flow conveyor, it will be converted to virtual sensor system mode by simulation, also I design IPC(Internal Pressure Cylinder), a basis of various applicable fault tolerant system by analyzing the changing of analog data according to the load of operation. With IPC and the increasing ability of developer, the Fault Tolerant System will be widely applied in the increasment of service time of cylinder, grease pouring time expection, fault recognition of cylinder and etc.
