고속주축의 드로우바 지지조건에 따른 동특성 해석 (Analysis of Dynamic Characteristics of A High-speed Milling Spindle Due to Support Stiffness of Drawbar)

  • In designing AMBs (active magnetic bearings) for high-speed spindle system, the shaft is usually assumed as a rigid rotor. For automatic tool change process, there should be a tool clamping system with drawbar using spring or hydraulic force, and the drawbar in the spindle can be in various condition of support during design and manufacturing error. In this paper, the modal characteristics of drawbar in high-speed milling spindle system due to supporting stiffness between drawbar and shaft are analyzed by numerical method. The result shows enough stiff supports must be provided between shaft and drawbar to prevent occurring drawbar vibration lower than the natural frequency of 1$\^$st/ bending mode of spindle.

  • this paper presents a dynamic analysis of the high-speed spindle system for vertical machining center using finite element techniques. The computed natural frequencies are compared with the measured frequencies obtained from experimental modal analysis. The results show that the bending and twisting deformations of the spindle housign dominated in the lowest modes owing to low dynmic stiffness of the housing structure. The design parameters used in the analysis are:(a) panel thickness of the housing (b) height of the housing and (c) spindle-to-column distance of the housing. Through sensitivity analysis and optimizing simulation considering design constraints an optimal design of the spindle system has been obtained.

  • The thermal characteristics of high-speed air spindle system with built-in motor are studied. Experiment and finite element method analysis obtain temperature rise and temperature distribution of housing. For the analysis three-dimensional model is built and temperature rise and distribution in thermal steady state are computed for each rotational frequency. Generally. It is said that the heat generation of air bearing is negligible. But it is certain that the heat generation of air bearing can not be negligible especially in high-speed conditions Frequency response test for air spindle system is executed. In case that the heat generation of air spindle system is high, natural frequency of the system becomes lower when it reaches thermal steady-state and it means that the stiffness of air hearing becomes smaller due to the change of bearing clearance. It is shown that the temperature rise of all spindle system causes thermal expansion md induces the variation of hearing clearance. In consequence the st illness of air bearing becomes smaller.

  • In this paper, the machining characteristics of high speed ball end milling affected by the rotational error of high speed spindle using air bearing are investigated. The error motions of a spindle have generally influenced on the surface roughness, the form accuracy, the tool life, etc. in end milling. Experiments are carried out over a wide range of rotational speeds(10,000-50,000rpm). The rotational errors of the spindle are measured by the gap sensor mounted on the spindle shaft at various cutting speeds. The relations between the surface roughness and the spindle error motion are presented. Results show that the rotational accuracy of the spindle directly affects the surface roughness of the machined surface.

  • A cylindrical capacitive displacement sensor (CCS) was developed and applied for monitoring end milling processes. Dynamic characteristics of a spindle-assembly were measured using the CCS and a designed magnetic exciter. The technique to extract the spindle displacement component caused only by cutting from the measured signals using the CCS was proposed in the paper. Using CCS signals and FRF (Frequency Response Function) derived from dynamics of the spindle tool system, dynamic cutting forces are estimated quantitatively.

  • The thermal deformation of machine tool spindle influences the performance of the manufacturing systems for precision products. In this research thermal analysis of a high speed machine tool spindle with the rolling bearing and the built-in motor is carried out using Finite Difference Method. The thermal boundary conditions describing the hear generation in the bearing and built-in motor are considered in the simulation. And various convective boundary conditions are assumed with the empirical formula in the references. From the simulation results the characteristics of each element affecting the dynamic thermal behaviour of the machine tool spindle systems have been clarified. This model can be well applied to the future development of the high speed spindle systems.

  • Spindle units of machine tool are very important part in the manufacturing area. Recently high speed machining has become the main issue of metal cutting. To develop high speed machine tools, a lot of studies have been carried out for high speed spindle. Due to increase of the rotational speed of the spindle, there has been renewal of interest in tooling system of high speed spindle. This paper concerns the static stiffness in the main spindle interface according to variation of clamping force, rotational speed and tool holder shank. Finite element analysis is performed by using a commercial code ANSYS workbench. From the results, it has been shown that the geometry of tool holder shank is mostly influence on the variation of the static stiffness in the main spindle interface.

  • 해안무선국의 단파대 통신은 90년대 초까지 해상통신의 주축으로 운용되었다. 그러나 데이터 통신 및 위성기술의 발달로 해사위성통신으로 변화되었고, GMDSS의 완성과 함께 단파대 통신은 이용자가 급격히 감소하여 일부만 운용되고 있다. 한편, 근래에는 기존의 단파대 SSB 통신 설비에 고속형 무선모뎀을 사용하여 전 세계의 선박을 대상으로 낮은 요금의 해상안전정보 및 데이터통신 서비스를 제공하는 시스템이 확대되고 있다. 본 연구는 우리나라의 단파대 해상통신시스템을 디지털화로 개선하는 방안을 제시하였다.

  • Sealing an oil-air mixture plays important roles to have an enhanced lubrication for high speed spindle. High speed spindles require non-contact type sealing mechanism. In this study, an optimum seal design to minimize leakage is concerned in the aspect of flow control. This paper categorizes geometries of mostly used non-contact type seals and analyzes each leakage characteristics to minimize a leakage on sealing area. Effect of minimum clearance and its position are considered according to variation of detail geometry. The estimation of non-leaking property is determined by amount of pressure drop in the leakage path assuming constant leakage flow. To simulate an oil jet or oil mist type high speed spindle lubrication, the working fluid is regarded as two phases that are mixed flow of oil phase and air phase. Both of the turbulence and the compressible flow model were introduced in CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis. Design parameters has been induced to minimize leakage in limited space, and a methodological study on geometrical optimization has been conducted.

래피어 직기용 스크류 구동 위입기구의 시뮬레이션 프로그램 개발 (Development of Simulnation Program of Screw Driving Weft Insertion Mechanism for Rapier Loom)

  • 고속 Rapier loom에서 위사를 Insert rapier와 Carrier rapier로서 경사를 상부와 하부로 2구분한 개구속으로 투입하여 경사와 위사의 조직을 완성시키는 위입기구는 스크류 구동방식이다. 이는 래피어와 휠의 치수를 줄이고, 기어와 벨트가 없이 직접 주축에 연결하는 구조이다. 그러므로 래피어가 요구하는 어떠한 가속도 곡선이 가능하여 고속화와 가동률 향상에 최적으로 정확한 설계에의한 래피어 운동이 필수적이다. 따라서 본 연구는 전체 거동의 파악을 위한 시스템의 정확한 해석과 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통한 Rapier loom의 고속화를 목적으로, 위입기구의 해석이론 정립 및 스크류의 회전에 따라 정확한 운동을 유도할 수 있도록 래피어의 변위, 속도 및 가속도 성분의 도출은 물론 동시에 화면상에 구현할 수 있는 스크류기구에 대한 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 개발하는 것이다.
