  • Grating is an installed structure on the road for drain. This paper proposes a new product which can prevent the accumulation of earth and sand through the improvement of Grating structure. There were usually harmful insects and bad smell because of accumulated garbage in the frame of previous product. The whole thing of the existing. This study is to separate grating from body. Also body structure consists of frame and box for collecting sewage. Thus, earth and sewage are prevented from accumulating in the drain main hole. The contents of this study is designed safely after structure analysis and vibration shape analysis about new products.

  • Grating is an installed structure on the road for drain. This paper proposes a new product which can prevent the accumulation of earth and sand through the improvement of Grating structure. There were usually harmful insects and bad smell because of accumulated garbage in the frame of previous product. The product had a reverse-flowing sewage due to the bad draining in case of rain. The whole thing of the existing Grating installed with the one set of frame and main body should be changed when it was damaged. This study is to develop a structure which can separate grating main body from frame and grating main body can equip and separate after fixing frame to the manhole with cement. also install jig for the loss prevention and change for the better.

  • The paved areas in nonpoint source are highly polluted landuses because of high imperviousness and pollutant mass emissions, such as sand, cereals, and dust from vehicle activities. Most of them in highways are collected by cleaning trucks or discharged to the adjacent soil and water system through the drain ditch in stormwater. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the relationship between water concentration and total pollutant loadings from the paved areas. From the experiment, CODcr concentration of the cleaning wastewater was 17 times greater than that of the stormwater runoff. Also, concentrations of heavy metals (Cu, Fe, Zn) were 1.3 to 1.5 times higher when compared to the stormwater runoff. While total discharged loadings was insignificant in the cleaning wastewater. In conclusion, these results provide some evidence that the stormwater runoff may be managed carefully to the aspect of total pollutant loadings and the cleaning wastewater may be handled cautiously with the pollutant concentrations in highways.

  • A major purpose of this study is to develop a drainage system that can quickly drain water penetrated into pavement layers to mitigate pot holes which is one of the major distress types in bridge deck pavements. This system can be established by applying a thin drainage layer between waterproof and pavement layers. The most important elements for this system are the performance of waterproof layer and construction technique for the thin drainage layer. The porous asphalt mix with the maximum aggregate size of 10mm is first developed based on the porous asphalt mix design guide proposed by NCAT, and various physical and mechanical tests are performed to confirm that the porous mix satisfies all the specification requirements. In addition, a series of laboratory tests including low-temperature bending and bonding strength tests for the MMA(Methyl Methacrylate) type of waterproofing material. It is observed from the tests that the MMA material satisfies all the specification requirements. To evaluate the Reld performance of the drainage system, a field study has been conducted on a relatively small size bridge. The QC/QA tests are conducted on the both waterproofing and pavement materials. It has been found that the drainage system works well to drain the water penetrated into the pavement layers.
