The super tall building above 100 floors is required that each floor's height is more than 4 meters, and each core wall's thickness is more than 60cm. Therefore, for the successive accomplishment of super tall building, the full scale mock-up test was required. The test results are as follows; Real strength of core wall was satisfied with design strength at 28 days regardless of types of strength, and according to the consolidation effect, lower part's strength was a little higher than upper part's strength. Lateral force of HSC was evaluated with max. $4.5ton/m^2$, and hydration temperature of mock-up test was evaluated that maximun heat of central part revealed about $80^{\circ}C$ at 70MPa and $65^{\circ}C$ at 50MPa, and, the difference between inner and outter part revealed about $30^{\circ}C$ at 70MPa and $12^{\circ}C$ at 50MPa. Also, no crack by hydration temperature was not shown on the surface.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of using method and replacement ratio of limestone powder and water-cement ratio on the compressive strength and the resistance to sulfate attack of mortar incorporating limestone powder as fundamental study to use limestone powder as an addition for concrete. As a results, The method using limestone powder as a part of cement showed decrease of the compressive strength of mortar. The strength of mortar incorporating limestone powder almost decided upon unit cement content. It was recognized that the method replacing limestone powder as a part of cement was effective to decrease the heat of hydration in concrete. The method using limestone powder as a part of fine aggregate showed the considerable increase of the strength and resistance to sulfate attack of concrete. Furthermore, it was recognized that the method using limestone powder as a part of fine aggregate were effective materials as an addition for concrete in view of the improvement of strength and resistance to sulfate attack.

Presently, mass concrete structures are being built in federal and private projects of civil infrastructures and building structures. The hydration heat of mass concrete structures is the most important factor in the quality of concrete matrix and construction period. Moreover, internal cracks caused by hydration heat degrades durability, water tightness, and strength of concrete. To reduce hydration heat, it is necessary to blend belite cement (${\beta}-C_2S$) with industrial by-products (i.e. granulated slag and fly ash). In this experiment, 14 levels of binary binders and 4 levels of ternary binders were used to understand the effect of different replacement ratio on hydration heat, strength and microstructure (i.e. SEM and XRD) of mortar. Cumulative hydration heat at 28 days for the binary and ternary binders was affected by replacement ratio of fly ash and/or granulated slag. As fly ash content increased, hydration heat decreased. As granulated slag content increased, reduction rate of the hydration heat was lower than when fly ash was used. Especially, the hydration heat of ternary binder blended with 40% flyash and 30% granulated slag showed about 50% of hydration heat from using belite cement (P). The study results showed that the temperature rise of concrete matrix can be decreased by using blended belite binders producing low hydration heat and reasonable strength.

Concrete structure for nuclear power plant is mass concrete structure with large wall depth and easily permits cracking in early age due to hydration heat and drying shrinkage. It always needs cooling water so that usually located near to sea shore. The crack on concrete surface permits rapid chloride intrusion and also causes more rapid corrosion in the steel. In the study, the effect of age and crack width on chloride diffusion is evaluated for the concrete for nuclear power plant with 6000 psi strength. For the work, various crack widths with 0.0~1.4 mm are induced and accelerated diffusion test is performed for concrete with 56 days, 180days, and 365 days. With increasing crack width over 1.0mm, diffusion coefficient is enlarged to 2.7~3.1 times and significant reduction of diffusion is evaluated due to age effect. Furthermore, apparent diffusion coefficient and surface chloride content are evaluated for the concrete with various crack width exposed to atmospheric zone with salt spraying at the age of 180 days. The results are also analyzed with those from accelerated diffusion test.

This study is to choose the optimal mixture and to analyze the sensibility properties of High strength concrete and mass concrete to apply the high rising building. The main experimental variables were water/binder ratio $39\%,\;33\%,\;35\%\;and\;37\%$, replacement ratio of fly ash $5\%,\;10\%\;and\;15\%$, in the high strength concrete and water/binder ratio $39\%,\;41\%\;and\;43\%$, replacement ratio of fly ash $10\%,\;20\%\;and\;30\%$, in the man concrete. According to the test results, the principal conclusions are summarized as follows. 1) The slump(or slump flow) and air content of fresh concrete were found to be the highest in the elapsed time 30 minutes. 2) The optimal mixture conditions are W/B $40\%$, FA $25\%$ in the mass concrete and W/B $33.4\%$, FA $15\%$ in the high strength concrete. 3) The ranges of sensibility are satisfied in the moisture content ${\pm}l\%\;and\;S/a\;{\pm}2\%$.

This study is a basic experiment on quality management of the compression strength of high strength concrete, aiming. at quality management of high strength mass concrete by giving the temperature hysteresis of the mass test pieces to managerial test pieces. Different from ordinary concrete, high strength concrete generally shows the temperature high rising caused by hydration heat inside the concrete. It is known that, in mass concrete, thermal stress occurs due to the difference in temperature between the inside and the outside, which causes a significant difference in compression strength between structure beams and managerial test pieces. It is also reported that there is a large difference between the compression strength of cylindrical managerial test pieces of standard underwater curing and the strength of structure beam concrete. Thus, this study made concrete test pieces in an optimal mix ratio for each strength level, and also created thermal insulation curing box and managerial test pieces. Then it carried out comparative analysis in relation to core strength and suggested equipment and a technique that can control the strength of high strength concrete mass more conveniently and accurately.

GGBFS(Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag) has been widely used in concrete for its excellent resistance chloride and chemical attack, however cracks due to hydration heat and dry shrinkage are reported. In many International Standards, GGBFS with low fineness of 3,000 grade is classified for wide commercialization and crack control. In this paper, the mechanical and durability performance of concrete were investigated through two mix proportions; One (BS) has 50% of w/b(water to binder) ratio and 60% replacement ratio with low-fineness GGBFS, and the other (TS) has 50% of w/b and 60% replacement ratio with 4000 grade and FA (Fly Ash). The strength difference between TS and BS concrete was not great from 3 day to 91 day of age, and BS showed excellent performance for chloride diffusion and carbonation resistance. Two mixtures also indicate a high durability index (more than 90.0) for freezing-thawing since they contain sufficient air content. Through improvement of strength in low fineness GGBFS concrete at early age, mass concrete with low hydration heat and high durability can be manufactured.

It has been reported that the magnitude and the development rate of autogenous shrinkage of cement paste, mortar and concrete were affected by history and magnitude of inner temperature at an early age. But it was not enough to explain the relation between hydration heat and autogenous shrinkage at an early age, because there was no certain analysis on histories of hydration heat and autogenous shrinkage in previous studies. In our prior study, to understand the relationship between hydration heat and autogenous shrinkage of concrete at an early age, the analysis method for histories of hydration heat and autogenous shrinkage was suggested. Based on this method, early age properties of hydration heat and autogenous shrinkage of high strength concrete with different sizes and hydration retardation were investigated in this study. As a result of the study, properties of hydration temperature and autogenous shrinkage were different according to specimen size and hydration retardation. However, there was a close relationship between hydration temperature and autogenous shrinkage at an early age, especially between HHV and ASV as linear slopes of the sections where hydration temperature and autogenous shrinkage increase rapidly; the higher HHV, the higher ASV and the greater ultimate autogenous shrinkage. And it was found that, among the setting time, bend point and temperature increasing point, they were close relationship each other on cement hydration process.
