  • High-strength plastic water supply pipe evaluation method was evaluated in this study. Up to date, high strength water supply pipes that we install are mostly ductile cast iron pipes. Sometimes, a few PVC pipes are installed. Metal pipes have rust problem on the surface, causing serious damage to metal pipes and reducing the expected life span of water piping system. Nowadays, depending on technology development, some companies have improved properties of general PVC pipe performance with remarkable properties that exceed KS and ASTM standard. Here, we suggest a new method of performance evaluation for high-strength water plastic pipes.

  • Concrete sewage culvert shows degradation with time since it is always exposed to various harmful ions, and deterioration of concrete culvert propagates to structural safety problems. After reclamation, maintenance for concrete sewage culvert is very difficult so that high durable and structural performance are essential for the sewage concrete culvert. Recently polymer concrete has been used to improve mechanical properties and durability performance. In this paper, engineering properties are evaluated for sewage culvert made with polymer concrete, and leakage and adhesive strength between joints are evaluated with small-scale models. The polymer sewage culvert shows high compressive strength over 100MPa with low water permeability and chloride penetration. Furthermore, high resistances to chemical and biological attack are evaluated. Through tests for leakage and adhesive, unification of joints is verified with evaluation of no leakage and high adhesive strength. Precast polymer sewage culvert in this paper can be actively used for severe conditions like sewage lines.

  • In this study a model for the constitutive relation of a plane concrete is proposed using a micromechariical model. In this model a precursor crack is assumed to exist in the aggregate-cement paste interface, and the LEFM is used to predict the nucleation of the bond cracks and the grow th of mortar cracks. For computational convenience the bond crack-mortar crack configuration is transformed into a straight crack with a point force in the middle. 'The overall compliance and the cons, titutive relation are predicted from the damage due to microcracks, and the predicted stress-strain curves are compared with some experimental data. According to the results, the model predictions are better for under tensile loading than under compression, for high, strength concrete than for normal strength concrete.
