  • Nodes of Mobile ad-hoc network usually use the energy-limited battery. Balanced energy consumptionis important to maintain path's stability. In this paper, we focus on improving the stability of the routing path in mobile ad-hoc networks. For that purpose, we propose a new routing protocol to find the highest minimum node residual energy path among shortest paths. The largest path of minimum value of the remain energy has a longer life than other paths to improve the reliability to data-transmission. Using ns-3 simulator, we show that the proposed routing protocol can provide more long-life stable routing path than AODV and EA-AODV.

  • In wireless ad-hoc networks, the nodes configuring a path act as routers with various mobility. If the path is broken by the movement of a node, a new path have to be found again. For this reason, the node with high mobility should be excluded from structuring a path as far as possible. In this paper, we propose an algorithm which excludes nodes with high mobility from constructing a path by collecting and managing the information of mobility. As the result, this can provide more stable paths. The proposed algorithm uses the extended AOMDV method. In this algorithm, we appends History Field and Decline Field in the routing table to collect and manage the mobility information. In addition, we add Mbl Field to RREP (Route Reply) message to apply the collected information to configure the real path.

  • In this paper, we propose a Route Stability-based Direction Guided Routing protocol(RSDGR) in mobile ad-hoc wireless networks. The main features and contributions of the proposed routing protocol are as follows. First, it can calculate link stability between two nodes as well as route stability of multi hop quantitatively by using nodes' mobility. And this protocol can establish the most stable path between a source node and a destination node. Second, according to the route stability between a source node and a destination node, it can control and optimize the direction guided region dynamically for route setup. Third, we suggest theoretical model for quantitative calculation of link stability between two nodes and route stability of multi hop path. The performance evaluation of the proposed routing protocol is performed by simulation using OPNET(Optimized Network Engineering Tool) and theoretical analysis. The results of performance evaluation show that the patterns of PDR are similar in simulation and analysis according to route stability. The faster mobile nodes' velocity and the smaller source node's direct guided reigion, the lower route stability and PDR and the higher delay and control overhead related to this.

  • In multi-hop wireless networks, a message transmission path is set up on demand by a route discovery step, where a shortest path is used in general. The shortest path, however, normally uses the nodes near the center area, which causes a high traffic load in that area and reduces the message transmission reliability. We propose a stable routing protocol considering the remaining energy of nodes. Our protocol uses ETX as a link performance estimator and tries to avoid the nodes with smaller energy. By doing this, we can reduce the route failure probability and packet loss. We have evaluated the performance of the proposed protocol using QualNet and compared with AODV and MRFR protocols. The simulation result shows that our protocol has a similar performance as MRFR in terms of end-to-end message reception ratio, average message delay and delay jitter, but outperforms MRFR in terms of traffic load distribution.

  • In this paper, we propose an entropy-based dynamic routing protocol for supporting effective route stability in mobile ad-hoc wireless sensor networks(MAWSN). The basic ideas and features are as follows. First, construction of entropy-based stable routing route using mobility of nodes between a source node and a destination node. Second, usage of location and direction information for route construction to support resource saving. Third, We consider a realistic approach, in the points of view of the MAWSN, based on mobile sensor nodes as well as fixed sensor nodes in sensor fields while the conventional research for sensor networks focus on mainly fixed sensor nodes. The performance evaluation of the proposed routing protocol is performed via simulation using OPNET. The simulation results show the proposed routing protocol can effectively support route stability and packet delivery ratio.

  • This paper proposes a routing establishment method for improving path stability in mobile ad-hoc networks. In mobile ad-hoc networks, the network topology is highly dynamic due to the node mobility unlike wired networks. Since the existing methods are based on the shortest path algorithm with the minimum hop count regardless of the path stability, it could lead to packet loss and path disconnection in mobile ad-hoc networks. In particular, if control packets and critical data are transmitted on the unstable path, it causes serious problems. Therefore, this paper proposes one approach in order to minimize packet loss and path disconnection by considering the node mobility. After the destination node receives multiple RREQ messages, it selects the stable path through the proposed MinMax algorithm according to the node speed.
