The purposes of the study were (1) to analysis Korean traditional wedding costumes through families's wedding photographs from 1940 to 2000, and (2) to categorize bride and groom's costumes according to the wedding time by means of a time series analysis. (3) to find out functional relationship among changes in garment types, garment details, embellishments and colors. The study was a documentary research and data were collected from 390 family wedding photographs by a convenient sampling. The data were analyzed by qualitative and quantitative method and the statistic used were frequency, content analysis, and cross-tab analysis. The results were as follows; First, the garments of wedding couples were categorized into 5 period according to garment's characteristics. 1. The period between 1940～1959 : Korean traditional wedding costumes and western style wedding costumes were existed together in Korean wedding culture. 2. The period between 1960～early 1970's western wedding costumes were dominated. 3. The period of late 1970's : wedding couple's costumes became more formal and decorative. 4. The period of 1980's : introducing see-through materials for brides and tuxedo suit for grooms. 5. The period of 1990's : extravagance in shapes and exposure. Second, there were significant relationships among brides's dress types and neckline, glove length, embellishments and transparency of materials and among groom's garment types and necktie types, types and color of shirts, vests. Third, the time series analysis of bride and groom's outfit produced 5 schematic expressions of wedding outfits according to the period.

웨딩드레스는 결혼이라는 행사를 거행하는데 여성들이 착용하는 예복중의 하나이다. 19C 빅토리아 여왕이 자신의 결혼의상을 백색 새틴을 소재로 하면서부터 중세이후 상복의 색상으로 정착되었던 백색이 여성의 순결을 상징하는 웨딩드레스의 색상으로 자리잡게 된다. 웨딩드레스는 다른 의상과 달리 색상이 백색 또는 아이보리색으로 제한되는 경우가 일반적이기 때문에 주로 디테일과 장식 등에 비즈 자수(Beading)기법을 사용하여 신부의 아름다움을 표현한다. 웨딩드레스는 신부의 순결함을 표현함과 동시에 결혼식에 참석하는 다른 여성들에 비해 신부를 돋보이도록 화려함을 표현해주는 것도 디자인에 있어서 중요한 항목이므로 이에 비즈자수 기법은 큰 효과를 발휘할 수 있는 방법이라고 본다.

This study has purpose in analyzing the characteristics of small weddings reported in the internet news, and suggesting the plan to activate it. The materials are about 248 internet news from 2012 to 2018, and frequency analysis and chi-square test were conducted for it. The research result is like the following. 1. It was reported that the saving type was higher in 2016 and the money gift improving type was higher rate in 2015. 2. As a venue for wedding, it was reported the saving type and free type choose the public institution, the small size type hotels, the peculiar type outdoor and house, money gift improving type hotel and public institutions. 3. The saving type, peculiar type and free type were likely to be reported as information transfer, and the small size type and the money gift improving type were likely to be reported to suggest the case of small weddings. 4. Case type showed high rate for public institutions and hotels for small weddings, and information type showed high rate for public institution for small wedding venue. 5. Case type and information type showed favorable rate for small wedding, and opinion type appeared similar favorable rate and unfavorable rate for small weddings. 6. Ordinary people showed high rate to be reported with saving type, celebrities were with small size type. And also the ordinary people showed high rate public institutions, celebrities with hotel as small wedding venue. 7. The items to save the cost in small wedding included more of venue renting cost, reception cost, wreath/decoration cost, photo filming cost than marriage expenses and wedding gifts, house.
