Research and Application of Fault Prediction Method for High-speed EMU Based on PHM Technology (PHM 기술을 이용한 고속 EMU의 고장 예측 방법 연구 및 적용)

  • In recent years, with the rapid development of large and medium-sized urban rail transit in China, the total operating mileage of high-speed railway and the total number of EMUs(Electric Multiple Units) are rising. The system complexity of high-speed EMU is constantly increasing, which puts forward higher requirements for the safety of equipment and the efficiency of maintenance.At present, the maintenance mode of high-speed EMU in China still adopts the post maintenance method based on planned maintenance and fault maintenance, which leads to insufficient or excessive maintenance, reduces the efficiency of equipment fault handling, and increases the maintenance cost. Based on the intelligent operation and maintenance technology of PHM(prognostics and health management). This thesis builds an integrated PHM platform of "vehicle system-communication system-ground system" by integrating multi-source heterogeneous data of different scenarios of high-speed EMU, and combines the equipment fault mechanism with artificial intelligence algorithms to build a fault prediction model for traction motors of high-speed EMU.Reliable fault prediction and accurate maintenance shall be carried out in advance to ensure safe and efficient operation of high-speed EMU.

Development of Optimal Chlorination Model and Parameter Studies (최적 염소 소독 모형의 개발 및 파라미터 연구)

  • A mathematical model comprised with eight simultaneous quasi-linear partial differential equations was suggested to provide optimal chlorination strategy. Upstream weighted finite element method was employed to construct multidimensional numerical code. The code was verified against measured concentrations in three type of reactors. Boundary conditions and reaction rate were calibrated for the sixteen cases of experimental results to regenerate the measured values. Eight reaction rate coefficients were estimated from the modeling result. The reaction rate coefficients were expressed in terms of pH and temperature. Automatic optimal algorithm was invented to estimate the reaction rate coefficients by minimizing the sum of squares of the numerical errors and combined with the model. In order to minimize the concentration of chlorine and pollutants at the final usage sites, a real-time predictive control system is imperative which can predict the water quality variables from the chlorine disinfection process at the water purification plant to the customer by means of a model and operate the disinfection process according to the influent water quality. This model can be used to build such a system in water treatment plants.

A Development of Road Crack Detection System Using Deep Learning-based Segmentation and Object Detection (딥러닝 기반의 분할과 객체탐지를 활용한 도로균열 탐지시스템 개발)

  • Many recent studies on deep learning-based road crack detection have shown significantly more improved performances than previous works using algorithm-based conventional approaches. However, many deep learning-based studies are still focused on classifying the types of cracks. The classification of crack types is highly anticipated in that it can improve the crack detection process, which is currently relying on manual intervention. However, it is essential to calculate the severity of the cracks as well as identifying the type of cracks in actual pavement maintenance planning, but studies related to road crack detection have not progressed enough to automated calculation of the severity of cracks. In order to calculate the severity of the crack, the type of crack and the area of the crack in the image must be identified together. This study deals with a method of using Mobilenet-SSD that is deep learning-based object detection techniques to effectively automate the simultaneous detection of crack types and crack areas. To improve the accuracy of object-detection for road cracks, several experiments were conducted to combine the U-Net for automatic segmentation of input image and object-detection model, and the results were summarized. As a result, image masking with U-Net is able to maximize object-detection performance with 0.9315 mAP value. While referring the results of this study, it is expected that the automation of the crack detection functionality on pave management system can be further enhanced.

  • Since 2015, Blockchain has experienced rapid development throughout the world, institutions including Central Banks, Government Departments, Commercial Banks, IT Giants are all accelerating their exploration on Blockchain, and investment on Blockchain related R&D departments and start-up companies also shows explosive growth. This paper studies the impact of blockchain technology on banks' conventional trade settlement methods and describes blockchain technology in term of its concepts, advantages, and disadvantages. It also studies the application processes of blockchain technology combined with conventional trade settlement methods (remittance, collection, and L/C), and analyzes the positive and negative impacts of blockchain technology on the conventional trade settlement methods. In addition, this paper lists the blockchain application cases, analyzes the technology development status and existing problems, and puts forward suggestions and measures for the development of blockchain finance in China based on the case analysis and impact research.

Collision Risk Assessment by using Hierarchical Clustering Method and Real-time Data (계층 클러스터링과 실시간 데이터를 이용한 충돌위험평가)

  • The identification of regional collision risks in water areas is significant for the safety of navigation. This paper introduces a new method of collision risk assessment that incorporates a clustering method based on the distance factor - hierarchical clustering - and uses real-time data in case of several surrounding vessels, group methodology and preliminary assessment to classify vessels and evaluate the basis of collision risk evaluation (called HCAAP processing). The vessels are clustered using the hierarchical program to obtain clusters of encounter vessels and are combined with the preliminary assessment to filter relatively safe vessels. Subsequently, the distance at the closest point of approach (DCPA) and time to the closest point of approach (TCPA) between encounter vessels within each cluster are calculated to obtain the relation and comparison with the collision risk index (CRI). The mathematical relationship of CRI for each cluster of encounter vessels with DCPA and TCPA is constructed using a negative exponential function. Operators can easily evaluate the safety of all vessels navigating in the defined area using the calculated CRI. Therefore, this framework can improve the safety and security of vessel traffic transportation and reduce the loss of life and property. To illustrate the effectiveness of the framework proposed, an experimental case study was conducted within the coastal waters of Mokpo, Korea. The results demonstrated that the framework was effective and efficient in detecting and ranking collision risk indexes between encounter vessels within each cluster, which allowed an automatic risk prioritization of encounter vessels for further investigation by operators.

A Study on the Cerber-Type Ransomware Detection Model Using Opcode and API Frequency and Correlation Coefficient (Opcode와 API의 빈도수와 상관계수를 활용한 Cerber형 랜섬웨어 탐지모델에 관한 연구)

  • Since the recent COVID-19 Pandemic, the ransomware fandom has intensified along with the expansion of remote work. Currently, anti-virus vaccine companies are trying to respond to ransomware, but traditional file signature-based static analysis can be neutralized in the face of diversification, obfuscation, variants, or the emergence of new ransomware. Various studies are being conducted for such ransomware detection, and detection studies using signature-based static analysis and behavior-based dynamic analysis can be seen as the main research type at present. In this paper, the frequency of ".text Section" Opcode and the Native API used in practice was extracted, and the association between feature information selected using K-means Clustering algorithm, Cosine Similarity, and Pearson correlation coefficient was analyzed. In addition, Through experiments to classify and detect worms among other malware types and Cerber-type ransomware, it was verified that the selected feature information was specialized in detecting specific ransomware (Cerber). As a result of combining the finally selected feature information through the above verification and applying it to machine learning and performing hyper parameter optimization, the detection rate was up to 93.3%.

Estimation of Spatial Distribution Using the Gaussian Mixture Model with Multivariate Geoscience Data (다변량 지구과학 데이터와 가우시안 혼합 모델을 이용한 공간 분포 추정)

  • Spatial estimation of geoscience data (geo-data) is challenging due to spatial heterogeneity, data scarcity, and high dimensionality. A novel spatial estimation method is needed to consider the characteristics of geo-data. In this study, we proposed the application of Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) among machine learning algorithms with multivariate data for robust spatial predictions. The performance of the proposed approach was tested through soil chemical concentration data from a former smelting area. The concentrations of As and Pb determined by ex-situ ICP-AES were the primary variables to be interpolated, while the other metal concentrations by ICP-AES and all data determined by in-situ portable X-ray fluorescence (PXRF) were used as auxiliary variables in GMM and ordinary cokriging (OCK). Among the multidimensional auxiliary variables, important variables were selected using a variable selection method based on the random forest. The results of GMM with important multivariate auxiliary data decreased the root mean-squared error (RMSE) down to 0.11 for As and 0.33 for Pb and increased the correlations (r) up to 0.31 for As and 0.46 for Pb compared to those from ordinary kriging and OCK using univariate or bivariate data. The use of GMM improved the performance of spatial interpretation of anthropogenic metals in soil. The multivariate spatial approach can be applied to understand complex and heterogeneous geological and geochemical features.

LSTM-based Fire and Odor Prediction Model for Edge System (엣지 시스템을 위한 LSTM 기반 화재 및 악취 예측 모델)

  • Recently, various intelligent application services using artificial intelligence are being actively developed. In particular, research on artificial intelligence-based real-time prediction services is being actively conducted in the manufacturing industry, and the demand for artificial intelligence services that can detect and predict fire and odors is very high. However, most of the existing detection and prediction systems do not predict the occurrence of fires and odors, but rather provide detection services after occurrence. This is because AI-based prediction service technology is not applied in existing systems. In addition, fire prediction, odor detection and odor level prediction services are services with ultra-low delay characteristics. Therefore, in order to provide ultra-low-latency prediction service, edge computing technology is combined with artificial intelligence models, so that faster inference results can be applied to the field faster than the cloud is being developed. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an LSTM algorithm-based learning model that can be used for fire prediction and odor detection/prediction, which are most required in the manufacturing industry. In addition, the proposed learning model is designed to be implemented in edge devices, and it is proposed to receive real-time sensor data from the IoT terminal and apply this data to the inference model to predict fire and odor conditions in real time. The proposed model evaluated the prediction accuracy of the learning model through three performance indicators, and the evaluation result showed an average performance of over 90%.

Implementation of DTW-kNN-based Decision Support System for Discriminating Emerging Technologies (DTW-kNN 기반의 유망 기술 식별을 위한 의사결정 지원 시스템 구현 방안)

  • This study aims to present a method for implementing a decision support system that can be used for selecting emerging technologies by applying a machine learning-based automatic classification technique. To conduct the research, the architecture of the entire system was built and detailed research steps were conducted. First, emerging technology candidate items were selected and trend data was automatically generated using a big data system. After defining the conceptual model and pattern classification structure of technological development, an efficient machine learning method was presented through an automatic classification experiment. Finally, the analysis results of the system were interpreted and methods for utilization were derived. In a DTW-kNN-based classification experiment that combines the Dynamic Time Warping(DTW) method and the k-Nearest Neighbors(kNN) classification model proposed in this study, the identification performance was up to 87.7%, and particularly in the 'eventual' section where the trend highly fluctuates, the maximum performance difference was 39.4% points compared to the Euclidean Distance(ED) algorithm. In addition, through the analysis results presented by the system, it was confirmed that this decision support system can be effectively utilized in the process of automatically classifying and filtering by type with a large amount of trend data.

A Data-driven Classifier for Motion Detection of Soldiers on the Battlefield using Recurrent Architectures and Hyperparameter Optimization (순환 아키텍쳐 및 하이퍼파라미터 최적화를 이용한 데이터 기반 군사 동작 판별 알고리즘)

  • The technology that recognizes a soldier's motion and movement status has recently attracted large attention as a combination of wearable technology and artificial intelligence, which is expected to upend the paradigm of troop management. The accuracy of state determination should be maintained at a high-end level to make sure of the expected vital functions both in a training situation; an evaluation and solution provision for each individual's motion, and in a combat situation; overall enhancement in managing troops. However, when input data is given as a timer series or sequence, existing feedforward networks would show overt limitations in maximizing classification performance. Since human behavior data (3-axis accelerations and 3-axis angular velocities) handled for military motion recognition requires the process of analyzing its time-dependent characteristics, this study proposes a high-performance data-driven classifier which utilizes the long-short term memory to identify the order dependence of acquired data, learning to classify eight representative military operations (Sitting, Standing, Walking, Running, Ascending, Descending, Low Crawl, and High Crawl). Since the accuracy is highly dependent on a network's learning conditions and variables, manual adjustment may neither be cost-effective nor guarantee optimal results during learning. Therefore, in this study, we optimized hyperparameters using Bayesian optimization for maximized generalization performance. As a result, the final architecture could reduce the error rate by 62.56% compared to the existing network with a similar number of learnable parameters, with the final accuracy of 98.39% for various military operations.
