  • Sensor network applications need synchronized time extremely such as object tracking, consistent state updates, duplicate detection, and temporal order delivery. This paper describes reliable time synchronization protocol (RTSP) for wireless sensor networks. In the proposed method, synchronization error is decreased by creating hierarchical tree with lower depth and reliability is improved by maintaining and updating information of candidate parent nodes. The RTSP reduces recovery time and communication overheads comparing to TPSN when there are topology changes owing to moving of nodes, running out of energy and physical crashes. Simulation results show that RTSP has about 20% better performance than TPSN in synchronization accuracy. And the number of message in the RTSP is $20%{\sim}60%$ lower than that in the TPSN when nodes are failed in the network. In case of different transmission range of nodes, the communication overhead in the RTSP is reduced up to 40% than that in the TPSN at the maximum.

  • Major obstruction of using formal methods for hybrid real-time systems in industry is the difficulty that engineers have in understanding and applying the quantitative methods in an abstract requirements phase. While formal methods technology in safety-critical systems can help increase confidence of software, difficulty and complexity in using them can cause another hazard. In order to overcome this obstruction, we propose a framework for qualitative requirements engineering of the hybrid real-time systems. It consists of a qualitative method for requirements specification, called QFM (Qualitative Formal Method), and a safety analysis method for the requirements based on a causality information, called CRSA (Causal Requirements Safety Analysis). QFM emphasizes the idea of a causal and qualitative reasoning in formal methods to reduce the cognitive burden of designers when specifying and validating the software requirements of hybrid safety systems. CRSA can evaluate the logical contribution of the software elements to the physical hazard of systems by utilizing the causality information that is kept during specification by QFM. Using the Shutdown System 2 of Wolsong nuclear power plants as a realistic example, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach.

  • The main cause of cable accidents is the accelerated deterioration of the cable itself or internal and external electrical, mechanical, chemical, thermal, moisture intrusion, etc., which reduces insulation performance and causes insulation breakdown, leading to cable accidents. Insulation deterioration can occur even when there is no change in the appearance of the cable, so there is a difficulty in preventing cable accidents due to insulation deterioration. Since cable accidents can occur in areas with poor insulation due to the effects of overvoltage and overcurrent, it is necessary to comprehensively analyze transformers and circuit breakers, and ground faults caused by phase-to-phase imbalance. Ground fault accidents due to insulation breakdown of cables can occur due to defects in the cable itself and poor cable construction, as well as operational influences, arcs during operation of electrical equipment (switchers, circuit breakers, etc.). analysis is needed. This study intends to examine the causes of cable accidents through analysis of cable accidents that occurred in a manufacturing factory.

  • Criticality prediction models that determine whether a design entity is fault-prone or non fault-prone play an important role in reducing system development costs because the problems in early phases largely affect the quality of the late products. Real-time systems such as telecommunication systems are so large that criticality prediction is mere important in real-time system design. The current models are based on the technique such as discriminant analysis, neural net and classification trees. These models have some problems with analyzing causes of the prediction results and low extendability. This paper builds a new prediction model, GAM, based on Genetic Algorithm. GAM is different from other models because it produces a criticality function. So GAM can be used for comparison between entities by criticality. GAM is implemented and compared with a well-known prediction model, BackPropagation neural network Model(BPM), considering Internal characteristics and accuracy of prediction.

  • XLPE cable is using insulator for Cross Linked Polyethylene(XLPE), because insulation Performance is superior and easy comparatively. Need systematization of accident transaction for electrical equipment accident, It is no disposal standard for defect of manufacture and second to accidents. in this paper deals with the change of XLPE cable insulation. To understand the electrical properties of XLPE insulation. Made of XLPE block sample, Penetration fracture Sample and flashover sample. Ogura needles having tip radius of $10[{\mu}m]$ were inserted into each sample. AC voltage of 1[kV/sec] increased at 60[Hz] were apple to breakdown sample and flashover sample. AC voltages of 12[kV], 17[kV] at 60[Hz] were a lied to XLPE block sample. The electrical properties of specimens were measured were measured from initiation of tree and breakdown to their characteristics were analyzed.

  • Navigation lights used in supersonic aircraft are used to identify the direction and location of the aircraft. The color of the navigation lights and location of installation are defined by aviation law as red for the left wing, green for the right wing, and white for the tail. Navigation lights operate in BRT and DIM modes. BRT is the brightest mode, and DIM is an output with dimmed brightness. Navigation lights serve to prevent aircraft collisions and are very important for stability and location identification. One phenomenon is that the inlet and tail navigation lights flicker abnormally. In this study, fault tree analysis was performed in two stages. The first step was derived from three causal factors, the second step developed five improvements, and the optimal improvement plan was drawn. The navigation lights confirmed that the initial input power was unstable as the main cause of abnormal flickering. As an improved method, the circuit was adjusted to stabilize the initial power, and it was confirmed that flickering did not occur as a result of the tests under the same conditions.
