The templated grain growth (TGG) method has gained significant attention for its ability to produce highly textured piezoelectric ceramics with significantly enhanced performance, making it a promising method for transducer and actuator applications. However, the texturing process using the TGG method requires the optimization of multiple steps, which can be challenging for beginners in this field. Therefore, in this tutorial, we provide an overview of the TGG method mainly based on our previous published works, including its various processing steps such as synthesizing anisotropic-shaped templates with size and size distribution control using the molten salt synthesis technique, tape casting, and identifying key factors for proper alignment of the templates in the target matrix system. Our goal is to provide a resource that can serve as a basic reference for researchers and engineers looking to improve their understanding and utilization of the TGG method for producing textured piezoelectric ceramics.
While architectural patterns provide software development solutions by providing schemas for structural organizations of software systems based on empirical knowledge, Jackson's problem frames provide a method of analyzing software problems. Problem frames are useful to understanding the software development problem, by putting emphasis on the problem domain, rather than on the solution space. Research exists that relates problem frames and software architecture, but most of this research uses problem frames only to understand given problems. Moreover, none of the existing research derives architectural patterns by considering both problem frames and quality attributes. In this paper, we propose a software architecture design method for pattern-based architecture design, by matching problem frames and architectural patterns. To that end, our approach first develops the problem model based on the problem frames approach, and then uses it to match with candidate architectural patterns, from the perspectives of both functionality, and quality attributes. Functional matching uses the problem frame diagram to match the problem model of an architectural pattern. We conduct a case study to show that our approach can systematically decide the right architectural patterns, and provide a basis for fine-grained software architecture design.

Creation of a human skeleton model and characterization of the variation in the bone shape are fundamentally important in many applications of biomechanics. In this paper, we present a parametric shape modeling method for femurs that is based on extracting the main parameter of variations of the femur shape from a 3D model database by using statistical shape analysis. For this shape analysis, principal component analysis (PCA) is used. Application of the PCA to 3D data requires bringing all the models in correspondence to each other. For this reason, anatomical landmarks are used for guiding the deformation of the template model to fit the 3D model data. After subsequent application of PCA to a set of femur models, we calculate the correlation between the dominant components of shape variability for a target population and the anatomical parameters of the femur shape. Finally, we provide tools for visualizing and creating the femur shape using the main parameter of femur shape variation.

Light rail transit(LRT) is a public transportation and mainly has an automatic driverless operation system. LRT project is a large scaled project which a construction cost is tens of billions of won per km. Systems engineering(SE) is an interdisciplinary approach and means to enable realization of successful systems. In this paper, we propose the systems engineering processes and their outputs list for the LRT project. And then, we present template and sample case of process output. We also present a case which carried out SE process by SE tool.
Mobile device can get useful user information, because users have always this device. In this paper, we propose automatically story generation method and user topic extraction using user information in mobile environment. Proposed method is follows: (1) We collect user action information in mobile device. Then, (2) we extract topics from collected information. (3) For the results of (2), we determine episodes for one day. Then, (4) we generate sentences using sentence templates and we compose stories which have theme-based or time-based. Because proposed method is simpler than previous method, proposed method can work only in mobile device. There's no room to leak user information. And proposed method is expressed more informative than previous method, because proposed method is provided sentence-based result. Extracted user-topic, a result of our method, can use to analyze user action and user preference.

This paper addresses an image processing technique for the human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA chip to discriminate whether the probes are hybridized with the target DNA. HPV DNA chip is designed to determine HPV gene-types by using DNA probes for 22 HPV types. In addition to the probes, the HPV DNA chip has markers that always react with the sample DNA. The positions of probe-dots in the final scanned image are fixed relative to the marker- dot locations with a small variation attributable to the accuracy of the dotter and the scanner. The probes are quadruplicated to enhance diagnostic fidelity. frier knowledge including the marker relative distance and the replication information of probes is integrated into the template matching technique with normalized covariance measure. It was demonstrated that the employment of both of the prior knowledges can be accomplished by simply averaging the template matching measures over the positions of the markers and probes. The resulting proposed scheme yields stable marker locating and probe classification.

In the PACS system, the radiology image(X-ray) and its report are saved as separated parts. The exchange of the radiology image between clinics that installed this system are easily achieved by the DICOM standardization. But it is difficult to exchange the radiology report between clinics because a solution of PACS system is different according to manufacturers. The radiology report should be unified the vocabulary and the type of code for effective sharing and exchanging, and also the radiology image and its report should be integrated for the accurate analysis. In this paper, we propose the sharing system of medical information based on HL7-CDA, it defines the templates and converts the structured documents. For this purpose, we design the XML schema of the radiology report and turn the DICOM files into defined schema. The HL7-CDA documents based on XML is easily displayed on web browser and can help the diagnosis by inserting the radiology image.

Teachers must design instruction to meet effective teaching and learning before teaching implementation. The traditional models of instructional design such as Dick and Carey, ADDIE and ASSURE have been widely applied. However, the traditional models of instructional design have limitation in that students fail in deep understanding of subject content because of break down essential goal of the unit small pieces of contents. To solve this problem, Wiggins and McTighe have suggested backward design. Backward design is a method of designing instruction by setting evaluation before choosing activities or content to teach. Therefore, this study explores the effective teaching and learning by analyzing structure of backward design and appling backward design to 'Library and Information Life' subject for information literacy education. Backward design for 'Library and Information Life' subject applies the template which Wiggins and McTighe devised for instructional design.

Biometric-based authentication can provide strong security guarantee about the identity of users. However, security of biometric data is particularly important as the compromise of the data will be permanent. The fuzzy fingerprint vault system is one of the most popular solutions for protecting the fingerprint template stored in the database. Recently, however, this system is very susceptible to a correlation attack that finds the real minutiae using multiple fingerprint vaults enrolled for different applications. To solve this problem, we propose a robust fuzzy fingerprint vault system against the correlation attack. In this paper, we add chaff minutiae based on the relative information of minutiae such as direction, coordinate instead of adding randomly. Also, our proposed approach allow to add multiple chaff minutiae within tolerance box for enhanced security level. Experimental results show that the proposed approach can protect the correlation attack and achieve enhanced verification accuracy.
Owing to the superior optoelectronic properties, halide perovskites have emerged as next-generation materials for display application. In this study, we reported a novel route for CsPbBr3 calcination into porous SiO2 nanoparticles to overcome the stability issues of halide perovskite via a spatial confinement of crystal growth within SiO2 pores. The resulting CsPbBr3-SiO2 nanoparticles exhibited the photoluminescence (PL) emission peak at 515 nm under optimal calcination condition. In several polar solvents, PL properties of CsPbBr3-SiO2 nanoparticles was maintained owing to the enclosed pores during calcination process, suggesting their promising application for display color conversion film.
