  • As the online game industry has been growing rapidly, more and more malicious activities to gain economic benefits have been reported as well. Game bot is one of the biggest problems in the online game industry. So we proposed a bot detection method based on the ERG theory of motivation for the first time. Most of the previous studies focused on behavior-based detection by monitoring patterns of the specific actions. In this paper, we applied the motivation theory to analyze user behaviors on a real game dataset. The result shows that normal users in the game followed the ERG theory of motivation in the same way as it works in real world. But in the case of game bots, the theory could not be applied because the game bot has specific reasons, unlike normal game users. We applied the ERG theory to users to distinguish game bot users from normal users. We detected the game bot with high accuracy of 99.78% by applying the theory.

  • Objectives : The object of this study was to examine computer game playing patterns and psychopathologies related to computer game addiction in school-age children. Methods : The subjects were 533 elementary school students (4th to 6th grade) in Kangdonggu, Seoul. We evaluated computer playing patterns of all subjects using computer game playing pattern questionnaire, and determined the risk group of computer game addiction by internet game addiction scale score. We evaluated subscale score of K-CBCL from parents of all subjects, and conducted correlation analysis and logistic regression analysis between computer game addiction and subscale score of K-CBCL. Results : In 488 responders, 10.2% of started playing computer game in preschool age, and 67.2% started at low grade of elementary school. The mean frequency of computer game play per week was 3.66 days. Mean time spent playing computer games per day was 1.89 hours. 'Simply for fun' was the most common reason far playing computer games (40.8%). Male subjects showed statistically significant differences in age of starting computer game, frequency of computer game play per week, reasons for playing computer game and computer game addiction scale scores. There were significant correlations between computer game addiction scale scores and academic performance, somatic complaints, attention problems, and internalizing problems in K-CBCL. But In logistic regression analysis, only attention problems among K-CBCL subscales showed significant predictability to computer game addiction. Conclusion : Upper grade elementary school students experienced computer game playing at the very early age, and spend much time in playing computer games. There were significant correlation and predictability between computer game addiction and attention problems.

  • In this paper, we propose a defense NPC control model in the soccer game by applying the Decision Tree learning algorithm. The proposed model extracts the direction patterns and the action patterns generated by many soccer game users, and applies these patterns to the Decision Tree learning algorithm. Then, the proposed model decides the direction and the action according to the learned Decision Tree. Experimental results show that the proposed model takes some time to learn the Decision Tree while the proposed model takes 0.001-0.003 milliseconds to decide the direction and the action based on the learned Decision Tree. Therefore, the proposed model can control NPC in the soccer game system in real time. Also, the proposed model achieves higher accuracy than a previous model (Letia98); because the proposed model can utilize current state information, its analyzed information, and previous state information.

  • The deployment of social network service(SNS) makes the social network game(SNG) as the new value added service of SNS be popular. But, a few study had identified the reason of this popularity and the elements of SNG. Based on the social presence theory and media richness theory, we had tried to identify three community artifacts (i.e. persistent labeling, self presentation and deep profiling) and two media characteristics(i.e. vividness and interactivity) as the SNG elements in this research. Then we had empirically validated the effect of these elements on the SNGexperience (i.e. social presence, perceived enjoyment) and behavioral intentions (i.e. Continuous usage intention, willingness to pay and loyalty) of the users. We conducted a survey to the actual SNG users. 243 data were collected and analyzed by PLS algorism. The results indicated that the community artifacts mediated by the social presence and media characteristics could significantly affect on the experiences and behavioral intentions. These findings could contribute to identify what element could be the reason of social network game popularity and could also contribute to design more attractive social network game in practice.

  • This study looked at the influence of MMORPG's motivation on interpersonal competence through MMORPG's social usage. For this, 496 surveys were retrieved. As a result, the social usage of MMORPG was completely mediated in the relationship between motivation and interpersonal competence. The social usage of MMORPG has a positive full mediation effect on the relationship between the social relationships motivation and the interpersonal competence. And Immersion/Escapism motivation, the social usage of MMORPG has reduced the negative effect on the interpersonal competence.

  • Recently, online-game industry has been rapidly expanding in these days. But, the various game service victimized cases are generated by the bots program. Particularly, the abnormal collection of the game money and item loses the inherent fun of a game. It reaches ultimately the definite bad effect to the game life cycle. In this paper, we propose a Bots detection method by observing the playing patterns of game characters with game log data. It analyzed behaviors of human players as well as bots and identified features to build the model to differentiate bots from human players. In an experiment, by using the served online-game, the model of a user and bots were generated was distinguished. And the reasonable result was confirmed.

  • If a Player car precedes from start to the end or a fuzzy car wins every day during computer or racing games, most players will lose their interest in the games soon after several times. In order to solve this Problem and increase amusement at racing games, the more important thing than anything else is decide the ranking. In this thesis, in order to give amusement In racing games, the researcher made a fuzzy car and made it race with player cars. Because the preceding fuzzy car runs ahead of player cars, it can recognize their behaviors according to change of following player cars' speed and distance, and the fuzzy car changes its memory, but doesn't enforce actual behaviors. If the fuzzy car would make decision, it has to do behaviors to compete the ranking on the basis of the contracts it has memorized under the situation where a timer is awarded. In addition, although an accompanying fuzzy car has different contents of memory, it is operated in the same way as mentioned above. At the time of experiments, the researcher applied the actual value to the test program and drew result for ranking competition. In conclusion, the researcher could confirm that we can have modeling of various behaviors by means of the method using fuzzy logic rather than simple if-then method.
