현대 교회건축에 있어서 창의 형태에 따른 빛의 유입 방식 및 표현특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the way of light input pattern and Expressional Characteristics by the shape of windows on the Modern Christian Architecture)

  • From ancient to modern architecture, the light in the architecture spaces as the only changing factor, was the most important theme contributing vitality to the space and judging its character and expression. The efforts, to acquire both natural-physical light and internally experienced spiritual-supernatural light, had been revealed in several ways of the architecture from the ancient architecture. It was the main issues on the christian architecture. In this study, 1 have intended to determine how the light, the most important factor on the christian architecture symbolizing the blessing of God and forming the pious and restrained spaces has been expressed in the church spaces. For this purpose, I have compared and analysised the examples of the using the light, to the arts of the modern maestros of architecture and newly constructed churches in Korea on the way of light input pattern by the shape of windows. The results from the examples show that the most outstanding point of the modern christian architecture compare to the past, is that the natures of the inputted light has many diversities by the architects. And I reached the fact that the constructers by their own will to acquire the intended light, they are chose progressive light expressing methods through the shape of windows.

  • Design concepts of light can be divided into two respects, visual plastic and metaphysical meaning. The current research focuses on the second respect. The meaning of light is abstract characteristics(for example, divinity, spirituality, or image) ultimately expressed by visual plastic. Because it makes architectural space abundant, it have been expressed frequently in architectural space until now. The purpose of this paper is to conceptualize and explain and arrange the meanings of light in the category that have been expressed in architectural space from ancient to current. The method of this study is content analysis and case study, and this is supplement by theoretical consideration on the meaning of light(relationship between perception and meaning, elements to form meaning etc.). This study consists of three steps. Firstly, through the content analysis of existing literature and documents, 17 meanings of light are confirmed. Secondly, these 17 meanings are defined and explained in 3 categories(symbolic, esthetic, and experiential character). Thirdly, they are additionally explained and articulated by case study. In the result, various meanings of light that have been fragmentarily expressed in architectural space until now is clearly arranged at a glance. Those suggested design concepts will be basic conferential material, available to the interior designers and students who want to utilize the organised study concepts.

석조유구(石造遺構)에 표현(表現)된 고대건축(古代建築) 연구 - 부도(浮屠)의 건축요소(建築要素) 분석(分析)을 중심으로 - (Ancient Korean Architecture Presented in Stone Remains - Focused on the Analysis of the Architectural Elements of the Stone Stupa -)

  • This research is the second attempt to illustrate the phases of ancient Korean architecture through a comparative study of historical materials such as historical ruins, relics, stone remains and art products. Among these the stone stupa (budo), contains many architectural aspects of old times, which give clues to trace the characteristics of the antient Korean structures. The study brings about following results: 1. The pillar employs an entasis technique, and the bracket system (gongpo) consists of cross beams (changbang) and small supporting blocks (soro) thereupon. A type of the bracket arm (chomcha) is also found on top of the pillar. 2. Windows and doors are assumed from the carved features on the stone stupa to be pair-doors which could be folded twice sideways and upwards. 3. There are two types of eaves; the single eaves and the double eaves consisting of a rafter and a flying rafter. 4. The roof has furrows formed by the concave tiles and the convex ones and also the tiles at the edge of eaves. And there are evidences that a variety of small images of animal and human figures were decorated along on top of the eaves.

  • The core idea of the critical regionalism could be summarized as a self-conscious synthesis between universal civilization and world culture. After World War II, it has been applied to architecture for overcoming the problem of Industrial Capitalism and uniformity of 20th century Modern Architecture. Naturally, religious architecture cannot also be an exception in this cultural trend, thus we can also apply the critical regionalism to the Korean Catholic Church Architecture with the basic premise that the Traditional Western and Modern Style Church Architecture should be regarded as universal civilization, and the Traditional Korean Architecture and endemicity as one of world culture. In the context, this article attempts to analyze the regionality of Korean Modern Catholic Church Architecture constructed between the 19th century and 1980's, and how it has been differently transformed with the view of the critical regionalism. Its analysis will be carried out within three types; transformation of the Traditional Korean Architecture and the influence of Japanese Modern Architecture, representation of the Traditional Korean Architecture, and abstraction of the Traditional Korean Architecture with each advantages and disadvantages.

  • This paper examines the way in which the idea of language has been introduced in architectural discourse since the late 1960s. The paper reviews the works of Robert Venturi, Charles Jencks, Peter Eisenman, Alan Colquhoun, and Mario Gandelsonas, which explore the analogy between linguistic and architectural form. All of the writers above are responsive to each other's theoretical positions, sometimes implicitly and sometimes explicitly. A system of signs can be approached by asking how the lexicon and syntax are proportioned. The same question may be posed to architecture: can architecture be understood as a lexicon or as a relational structure, such as language is\ulcorner Two perspectives are presented by architectural theorists. The first advocated by Venturi and Jencks posit architectural form as a problem of signs. The problem with this perspective is that, it reduces architecture into popularized iconography in favor of the representational aspects of architectural form. The second perspective, developed by Eisenman, explores the possibility of finding new formal constructs in the abstract relationship of formal properties. Eisenman's theory, however, has its own problems for, in highlighting syntactic structure, it minimizes the distinction between the perceptual and the pragmatic dimensions. Yet both perspectives address crucial problems of contemporary architecture and expand architectural discourse into the broader realm of humanistic studies.

인체 골격 교육과 가상 건물 설계를 위한 삼차원 WWW 정보 시스템의 개발 (Development of Three Dimensional WWW Information System for Human Bone Education and Virtual Building Design)

  • 본 논문에서는 초고속 통신망을 이용한 고급 삼차원 정보 제공을 위하여 개발한 두 가지 WWW (World Wide Web) 정보 시스템에 대하여 설명하고자 한다. 하나는 인체 골격 교육 시스템으로, 서버와 브라우저로 구성하여 인체의 골격 구성을 WWW에서 삼차원화시켜 보여주고 사용자가 원하는 부위를 직접 접근하고 관찰할 수 있게 하는 시스템 개발 방법을 기술한다. 인체 골격의 방대한 데이터를 사용자에게 효과적으로 제공하기 위한 서버 구축의 계층적 (Hierarchical) 표현 기법을 설명하고, 브라우저가 제공하는 기본 삼차원 관찰 기능 외에 인체 뼈를 절단하는 기능과 삼차원 한글, 한자, 영문 텍스트 저작기능을 설명한다. 다른 하나는 가상 건축 설계 시스템으로 이차원 도면 설계 프로그램과 서버로 구성하여 건물, 건축 형식의 이차원 도면을 작성하여 전송하면 서버에서 삼차원 건축물을 생성하여 제공하는 시스템 개발 방법을 기술한다. 이차원 도면 설계 프로그램의 객체 지향 구현 기법과 클라이언트 (Client)와 서버 (Server) 간의 통신 및 인터페이스 (Interface) 릎 구현하여, 이차원 도변을 작성하여 그에 대한 결과를 전송 하는 방법에 대하여 논한다. 인체 골격 교육 시스템은 인터넷을 통한 교육 및 의료 활용에 실제감 있는 서비스를 제공하게 되고, 가상 건축 설계 시스템으로 원거리에서도 쉽게 건축 설계 결과를 평가하여 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

  • 멀티미디어, 가상현실 및 네트워크로 대표되는 ICT 기술은 문화콘텐츠의 원형을 보존하고 복원을 위한 좋은 수단이다. 본 논문에서는 우리나라의 대표적인 문화콘텐츠라 할 수 있는 전통목조건축물을 디지털화하기 위한 멀티미디어와 증강현실 기술의 세부적인 방법을 제시하고 구현하였다. 그래픽 기법을 사용하여 전통목조건축물에 사용되는 건축 부재들을 3D 모델링하였고, 전통목조건축물의 지붕 곡선을 표현하였고, 전통목조건축물의 재질 매핑을 하였다. 또한, 마커 기반 증강현실 기법을 사용하여 모바일 기기를 통하여 전통목조건축물의 정보를 획득할 수 있도록 구현하였다. 멀티미디어 및 증강현실로 구현된 전통목조건축물 결과물의 활용 방안을 또한 제시하였다.

  • Since the past, an attempt of figuration which is for movement, time and force has existed constantly. A process of representative from expressed on the movement, time and force creates events, and the process through the events expresses the idea of a simulacre. Furthermore, Architectural works for potentiality to give a demonstration are in common with hybrid characteristics, and have lasting creation of flux architecture. Ignoring the gravity of the floating figuration, so it appears unrealistic hyperphysical virtual space that easily could make the life of creation. For this reason, the form generation based on the digital design method is expressed the important method. In conclusion, actualizing the virtual is the suitable way for 'devenir architecture' based upon the Deleuze Guattari's idea of 'simulacre' and creating the from generation on the contemporary digital architecture design in a similar way.

  • Current architecture can receive support of and command various ways of expression by more advanced technology of the present time, this means the formation of changeable external design of building, and has the tendency to be interactive non-rheological shape. Accordingly surface of building is decorated not only by the basic function and the expression of information, but also by complex narrative image structure or text, so far as recognizes human as the subject of communication, and is trying the artistic expression interacting with the general public. In various expressive tendency of current architecture surface design, such an approach from a view of an interactive art trying the communication between architecture, art, and human has the meaning of suggesting the direction of directing emotional architecture giving a present to the morderners who are growing more and more an earnest desire for experiencing culture and art in their daily life.

  • 본 연구는 1997년 세계문화유산으로 지정된 수원화성의 야간경관조명연출에 따른 조명실태와 효과를 조사 분석하였다. 평가대상은 화성의 경관조명시설이 설치된 33개소 중 측정당시 설치가 완료된 성곽의 내 외부와 서북공심돈을 선정하였다. 평가방법은 야간에 조명현황조사 및 물리량의 측정을 실시하였다. 물리량은 피조면의 휘도, 색온도 및 색도를 측정하였으며, 이를 토대로 경관조명의 연출효과를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 전체적인 조명방식은 건축물 하단부에 설치된 지주등으로 상향조명을 하거나, 외곽 투광기를 이용한 전반조명이 병용되고 있었다. 조명연출실태는 성벽의 경우 연속된 성곽의 이미지를 강조하고, 빛의 콘트라스트를 이용하여 건축시설물을 강조함으로써 리듬감을 연출하였다. 색온도의 경우 성곽의 차가운 이미지를 보완하기 위하여 따뜻한 색온도의 광원을 사용하여 전체적 이미지를 안정적이고 부드럽게 표현하였다. 색도의 경우 전체적으로 황색의 색도가 나타났는데, 우리나라 전통건축에서 강조되어야 할 단청이나 부재를 위해서는 광원의 색채선정에 신중한 고려가 요구된다.
