  • This paper discusses an innovative acoustic membrane developed by doAZ Co., Ltd., offering enhanced noise barrier and dust control for urban construction and demolition, surpassing the performance of traditional non-woven fabrics. The membrane is made from recyclable bubble sheets and designed to be seamlessly integrated into single and double-row scaffolding systems, ensuring broader applicability and sustainability.

A Case Study of Blast Demolition at Chung-Ang Department Store in Daejeon City (대전 중앙데파트 발파해체 사례)

  • Recently, construction techniques have been rapidly developed with reconstruction of old buildings, urban regeneration and efforts of restoring natural ecology, so demolition of deteriorated buildings has been rapidly increasing. Demolition work of building should be executed without damaging surrounding environments according to relevant regulations. There are various demolition methods and among them, explosives demolition is the most practical way for expenses and safety of work. As a part of Daejeon stream ecological restoration project, this thesis is a case of executing demolition of Chung-Ang Department Store which was built 35 years ago as covered structure on the upper part of Daejeon stream with explosives demolition. This structure is 8 stories high, total height of 41.6 m including basement floor, $1,650m^2$ for building area and $18,351m^2$ for total floor area. It is located in the center of Daejeon city where shopping centers and buildings are crowded and main facilities are Daejeon subway (18m), backside shopping center (20m), underground shopping center(15m), Mokchuk bridge, Eunjung bridge(0.25m) and fiber-optic cable(0.25m). In this project, implosion was selected for explosives demolition methods by considering this area being a busy urban area, and this project was executed after examining collapse movement of structure in advance using simulation program not to damage main facilities. Total 80kg of explosives and 1,000 detonators were being used. This project will be a good case of executing explosives demolition successfully by applying implosion on urban area in the country.

A Study on the 3D Precise Modeling of Old Structures Using Merged Point Cloud from Drone Images and LiDAR Scanning Data (드론 화상 및 LiDAR 스캐닝의 정합처리 자료를 활용한 노후 구조물 3차원 정밀 모델링에 관한 연구)

  • With the recent increase in old and dangerous buildings, the demand for technology in the field of structure demolition is rapidly increasing. In particular, in the case of structures with severe deformation of damage, there is a risk of deterioration in stability and disaster due to changes in the load distribution characteristics in the structure, so rapid structure demolition technology that can be efficiently dismantled in a short period of time is drawing attention. However, structural deformation such as unauthorized extension or illegal remodeling occurs frequently in many old structures, which is not reflected in structural information such as building drawings, and acts as an obstacle in the demolition design process. In this study, as an effective way to overcome the discrepancy between the structural information of old structures and the actual structure, access to actual structures through 3D modeling was considered. 3D point cloud data inside and outside the building were obtained through LiDAR and drone photography for buildings scheduled to be blasting demolition, and precision matching between the two spatial data groups was performed using an open-source based spatial information construction system. The 3D structure model was completed by importing point cloud data matched with 3D modeling software to create structural drawings for each layer and forming each member along the structure slab, pillar, beam, and ceiling boundary. In addition, the modeling technique proposed in this study was verified by comparing it with the actual measurement value for selected structure member.

Database for Construction Materials Management System Based on RFID (RFID 기반의 건축 자재 관리 시스템을 위한 데이터베이스)

  • The efficient materials management in construction field is a very important work required for designing and demolishing building. As the waste amount caused by the building demolition is increased, the concern related to the treatment method, recyclability, and effect on the environment have been gradually increased. In general, the conventional databases for the construction materials management does not consider the reuse of the construction materials on steps for the building demolition and reconstruction, but they only consider managing the type and input amount of them. In this paper, we propose the database system for efficiently managing the various construction materials informations including the location and condition of each construction materials for the efficient reuse of them on the building demolition and reconstruction. The considered informations are obtained the RFID(: Radio Frequency IDentification) system with on-board the location estimation module. Using the reuse management of construction materials, based on the proposed database, we expect the reduction of the construction cost and time.

Systematic Improvement of Safety Management-Related Laws in Domestic Demolition Works (국내 해체공사 안전관리 관련 법령의 체계적인 개선방안)

  • Generally speaking, the demolition works is the subsequent construction activity which has been done after building life-span of twenty two years or so. However, it was not prepared suitable systems and laws and regulations as long-term solutions. In this study, it was suggested the improvement guideline of safety management-related laws in domestic demolition works. The three improvement of laws was suggested as follows. ${\bullet}$ First, it was suggested proposals for demolition works standards in safety management plan of management law for construction activity. ${\bullet}$ Secondly, it was provided improvements for standard safety work guide of demolition works of industrial safety and health law. ${\bullet}$ Third, it was proposed integration method of redundancy in safety management plan and risk assessment regulations.
