  • 그간 많은 세미나에서 건설안전 확보대책으로써 근원적 안전확보방안으로 ‘설계시부터의 안전’을 제창하고 있지만 이를 위한 구체적인 제시를 하지 못하고 있었으며 필자가 ‘ 건설안전설계 프로세스‘를 출판해 내면서 건축설계사는 물론 구조담당 엔지니어들의 임무수행시에도 각종 결함가능성을 확인하고 이미 수년전부터 관심을 갖고 연구해 오T고, 또 교류중이던 호주 The Univ. of Newcastle 토목공학과 Prof. Melchers의 논문을 연구하던 차에 많은 내용 중에서 이해와 접근이 용이한 본 논궤를 그대로 제시한다.

  • 서울의 중심인 광화문 일대는 '경제대국 대한민국'을 상징하는 각종 건축물이 모여 있는 곳이다. 우뚝 솟은 건물들이 만들어내는 아름다운 경관에 우리 국민은 물론 이곳을 찾는 수많은 외국 관광객들이 탄성을 쏟아낸다. 그런 이곳에 또 하나의 랜드마크가 베일을 벗고 모습을 보일 준비를 하고 있다. 그 주인공은 바로 대림산업이 세종로 사거리 옛 금강제화 터에 건설 중인 '세종로호텔' 현장이다. 우리나라 경제와 관광의 중심지에 건립되는 만큼, 이곳은 안전중심의 철저한 시공을 하고 있다. 도심 속 건설현장의 우수사례로 손꼽히고 있는 이곳 현장을 찾아가봤다.

  • 사무실에 뱀이 나타났다. 종합건설사들은 이 뱀을 어떻게 처리할까? 모 회사는 상부에 보고부터 한다. 어떤 업체는 협력업체를 부른다. 또 어떤 회사는 작전회의부터 한다. 또 다른 업체는 전 직원이 모여 회의를 한다. 직원이 바로 잡는 회사도 있다. 각 업체별 정체성을 우스개 소리로 표현한 말이다. 직원이 바로 잡는 업체는 바로 현대건설이다. 현대건설은 '불도저'란 또 다른 별명이 있다. 6.25 전쟁의 폐허 위에서 국토의 핏줄인 도로를 닦고 끊어진 다리를 연결하고 건물을 세우는 등 아무 것도 없는 불모지에서 불도저처럼 건설산업을 이끌어 왔기 때문이다. 건설산업 발전을 견인한 현대건설이 올해로 창립 70주년을 맞았다. 이번 호에는 지난 2월 7일 상무로 승진한 현대건설 박성민 상무(건축사업본부 건축기술지원실 실장)를 만나 보았다.

Material Properties of Structural Steel used in Modern Historical Heritage of Busan and Gyeongsang in the 1930-1940s (1930-40년대 부산·경상지역의 근대 역사문화유산에 사용된 강재의 재료적 특성)

  • In this study, we evaluated the chemical and physical properties of structural steel, which is the most basic material for steel structures and reinforcement concrete structures in modern period. We theorized the technical data for the research of technical history of modern heritage structures by analyzing the product system and its quality control of structural steel used in modern historical heritages. The results of this study are as follow; first, the rounded bars were used in most of modern heritage structures. But in the case of Waegwan railroad bridge, the deformed bars were used in spit of not using in Japan after the great earthquake of Kantou. Second, the structural steel was good in terms of quality control, but It has brittle properties because it was not manufactured by heat treatment process.

Success Factors of Scheduling in Small-Scale Building Construction with Owner-CM Delivery Method (건축주-CM 방식의 소규모 건축공사에서 공정관리 성공 요인)

  • Recently, projects are being actively promoted to develop a new residential district centered around the metropolitan area, or to redevelop the residential area that was established long ago as unplanned land development. In this residential area, the owner can directly construct the building, and the way the building owner builds the residential house is called the direct construction of the owner. If the owner has the construction management (CM) capability while conducting direct management of the owner, the direct construction can be carried out by the CM method. This type of construction is called Owner-CM delivery method. However, it is very rare for small-scale construction in Korea to be implemented by the Owner-CM method. This may be due to the lack of knowledge and experience about the CM of the owner. In this study, we investigated the actual cases of the scheduling for the residential houses of similar size which were built at the same time in the residential housing complex developed near the metropolitan area. The purpose of this study is to derive the success factors of the scheduling in the small-scale construction from the cases carried out by the Owner-CM method. These success factors of the scheduling can be used as meaningful reference for the owners who want to build their own house in the future.

A Study on the Characteristics of Architectural Assets in Daejeon Metropolitan City (대전광역시 건축자산 특성 분석 연구)

  • This study aimed to verify the relationship of a city's history and identity through an architectural assets survey of Daejeon Metropolitan City. To achieve these purposes, the architectural assets survey was carried out, and the characteristics were reviewed. The results of this study are as follows. (1) The architectural assets are composed of 86.5% buildings, 7.4% space environments, and 6.1% infrastructure. (2) Of the architectural assets, 52.7% were constructed in the 1960s~1980s, and 25.0% were built before the Korean War. (3) The physical characteristics of the architectural assets are represented by the single floor, housing and religious facilities, traditional Korean roof tiles, and cement mortar and wood finishing. The characteristics of the architectural assets of Daejeon Metropolitan City are related to the allocation of public offices, banks, and government buildings after the relocation of Chungnam-Do Province Office in the 1930s, and reconstruction and revival around Daejeon station after the Korean War. In particular, the accumulation of Hanok for the shrine in Isa-dong and the townhouse for railroad officers in Soje-dong represent the regional and modern history of Daejeon Metropolitan City.

A Study on the Improvement of Engineering and Construction Supervision Guarantee System in Korea (국내 설계.감리 등 용역보증제도 현황 및 개선방안 연구)

  • After several collapse accidents of large structures in the early 1990s in Korea, the government enacted a law that architectural, engineering and construction firms are obliged to have insurance for projects over a certain size. Particularly, with regard to insurance in design and construction supervision works (i.e. engineering insurance), although several operation-based problems were pointed out from practitioners, still little research has been done on analyzing current regnlartory and operational state and suggesting policy alternatives. Hence, this study applies Delphi technique to solicit current operational problems and propose a series of improvements on engineering insurance based on interview surveys targeting major market participants: municipalities, engineering firms, and insurance companies. Key findings culminate in adopting guarantee limits based on credit evaluation, abrogating joint surety, covering a loss of life, increasing insurance entrance fee, extending time covered, and etc. Reaching a consensus on the proposed alternatives between the market participants will form the foundation for sound developments of construction design and engineering industry.

  • 본 연구는 생태면적률을 교육시설에 적용하기 위한 프로세스 개선에 관한 연구로 수행되었다. 생태면적률은 최근 시행되기 시작한 개발사업에 대한 환경지표로 생태환경보전에 매우 중요한 역할을 담당할 것으로 전망되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 관련 선행연구 및 제도, 기준고찰을 통하여 생태면적률에 관한 국내외의 동향을 파악하고, 교육시설에 생태면적률을 적용하기 위한 실태파악을 위하여 일차적으로 중부권 C시의 초등학교를 중심으로 적용된 대지 및 체육장 면적분포, 교지 대비 체육장 비율, 조경면적, 친환경 인증 등에 관한 현황조사를 수행하였다. 본 연구의 실태조사 결과를 통하여 교육시설의 부지조성 특성에 따른 부지유형을 도출하였고, 부지유형별 생태면적률 적용 프로세스를 제안하고, 제도적 적용을 검토하기 위하여 공공부문의 도시 건축 및 환경분야 종사자 및 건축사의 생태면적률에 관한 인지도를 알아보기 위한 설문을 수행하였다. 본 연구의 결과 교육시설의 계획특성에 부합되는 생태면적률 적용 프로세스를 제안하였다.

  • The demand for the development of automated construction equipments is gradually increasing to deal with the current problems of construction technology, such as a lack of experienced workers, the aging of engineers, safety issues, etc. In particular, earth work such as excavation is very machine-dependent, and there has been a great deal of research on the development of an intelligent excavator, which involves great safety concerns. Thus, the objective of this study is to develop the technology to enhance the safety of intelligent excavation systems by developing an omnidirectional object detection technology for the intelligent excavator and applying it to a user-friendly system. The existing literature was reviewed, and the function of various sensor technologies was investigated and analyzed. Then, the best laser sensor was selected for an experiment to determine its effectiveness. An omnidirectional object detection algorithm was developed for a user interface program, and this can be used as the fundamental technology for the development of a safety management system for an intelligent excavator.
