  • In Korea, more than half of work-related fatalities have occurred on construction sites. To reduce such occupational accidents, safety inspection by government agencies is essential in construction sites that present a high risk of serious accidents. To address this issue, this study developed risk prediction models of serious accidents in construction sites using five machine learning methods: support vector machine, random forest, XGBoost, LightGBM, and AutoML. To this end, 15 proactive information (e.g., number of stories and period of construction) that are usually available prior to construction were considered and two over-sampling techniques (SMOTE and ADASYN) were used to address the problem of class-imbalanced data. The results showed that all machine learning methods achieved 0.876~0.941 in the F1-score with the adoption of over-sampling techniques. LightGBM with ADASYN yielded the best prediction performance in both the F1-score (0.941) and the area under the ROC curve (0.941). The prediction models revealed four major features: number of stories, period of construction, excavation depth, and height. The prediction models developed in this study can be useful both for government agencies in prioritizing construction sites for safety inspection and for construction companies in establishing pre-construction preventive measures.

  • In this study, we analyzed the status of safety management in industrial sites and fatal accident statistics to identify problems and suggest directions for increasing the utilization of convergence engineering. Current industrial site safety management is passive, formal, and unsystematic, and at the same time, the delivery of information on site safety management is very insufficient. In addition, domestic occupational safety and health education was not systematic and could not be considered effective as it was repeating past education forms. Recently, ICT technology has been introduced throughout the industry, and this study suggests several directions for the introduction of convergence safety engineering. Keke is the organization and operation of school curriculum in a convergent manner. In addition, we proposed a plan to apply VR content and experiential education so that safety management education can be conducted in a practical and realistic manner. Lastly, it was proposed to provide differentiated education by industry and type of work, taking into account the characteristics of various industrial sites. It is expected that the results of this study will be able to emphasize the need for convergence and integrated safety education for those involved in the field of domestic industrial safety management and education.

  • This paper is shown the new method using LED Light, which the light environment is upgraded the natural LED light in the area of Disaster Prevention and Safety Management (PDSD), which the events of deaths is reduced on the Suicide, the Infectious diseases, the safety accidents, the Traffic Accident, the crime, the fire, the Nature Disaster, and which the health and the environment and the safety is implemented using the value of the color LED Light. Research findings include, during 3 weeks in the November 2016, in the ten residents (average living 28.7 years, age 67.5 years) with depressive symptoms in the northern part of Seoul, according to the request of the user, the PDSD natural light LED lighting was installed in the home bedroom or the living room, expectations for the ability to restore physical and mental stability were high (88%), in the same way, after 1 week and 3 weeks, the physical and mental changes were compared and the results,84% in the first week and 90% in the third week and thereafter, the effect of relieving depression was high. We conclude that patients with depression have a good sleep, an uneasy feeling, a sense of security, a good night's sleep, and a good feeling. The PDSD LED Light is expected to contribute in the various areas, which reduced the suicides, which give increased immunity from infectious diseases, which give a crash to reduce accidents caused by negligence, which improve the safe operation of heavy vehicles in which a traffics accident incidence installed on the highest point, which improve the safety function on the 'safety way home' for the safety of the community, which due to fire gives alleviate the emotional anxiety of firefighters, which improve the environment for long-term control room working during decision making caused by natural disasters.
