Development of a Conceptual Estimate Methodology for Plant Construction Projects (플랜트 건설 프로젝트를 위한 개산견적 방법론 개발)

  • In the overseas plant construction market, the domain construction firms' construction capability has been greatly improved, but the capability of project management is evaluated to be insufficient compared to the technical aspect. Project management capabilities from the initial planning stage of project execution are regarded as the core competence of advanced construction companies. Among them, it is urgent to improve the capacity of conceptual estimate for domestic companies. In this study, the researchers surveyed and analyzed the methodology of estimating project cost in the planning phase of the plant project and developed an estimation method by conducting a case study analysis. Based on the logic of the cost index and parametric estimation method among the existing estimation methodology, the estimation tool was developed by deriving the input and output variables tailored to the plant project. The validity of the proposed methodology was evaluated by comparing the accuracy between the project estimate amount of the case project and the actual project amount. In order to increase the utilization of the developed conceptual estimate methodology,for plant construction project, it is necessary to systematize the data of the historical project data. Increasing the accuracy of future project cost estimates is directly related to increasing project award and profitability of the domestic construction company.

  • 분쟁은 팀이 형성될 때 일어난다. 그것은 일반적으로 건설현장에서 다양한 형태로 일어난다. 따라서 건설현장의 일반적인 분쟁의 원인은 긍정적이거나 부정적인 특징들을 포함하고 있다. 그러나 과도한 분쟁은 팀의 작업에 있어서 큰 장애가 된다. 따라서 함께 일하는 문화를 증대시키는 것이 필요로 한다. 이 논문의 목적은 프로젝트 팀워크 효율요인을 규명하고 이러한 요인들 사이의 중요한 관계를 밝혀내는 것이다. 설문조사는 전문가들로부터 자료를 수집하여 사용되었다. 요인분석은 21개의 팀워크 요소로 분류하였고, 주요 3개 건설부분 즉, 시공자, 설계자, 발주자에 종사하는 169개의 응답에 의해 평가되었다. 요인분석은 그 아래 3그룹 즉 팀워크 문화구축, 참여자간 유대관계 구축, 신뢰 형성으로 분류할 수 있다. 이 논문의 결과는 건설사업의 프로젝트 참여자들 사이에서 유대관계를 증진시키기 위한 도구로 사용될 수 있다.

  • Construction projects heavily rely on construction engineers competency, and instant judgment and problem solving ability against unpredictable situation directly affect the success of construction project. Therefore in order to hire construction engineers that are competent to lead construction projects successfully, the construction engineer competency evaluation is essential from the selection process. Hence, this research proposed items to assess the operation competency of construction engineers by deducing influence factors necessary to measure operation competency via interviews with experts and applying the factors. After conducting survey questionnaire utilizing analytic hierarchy process(AHP) for the proposed operation competency measurement items, weighted values were assigned.

  • A project manager of construction project must analyze risks which might happen during the construction phase and prepare a restoration method against the risks in order to get the successful project's accomplishment. Insurance is a representative kind of risk transfer method and an institution which prevents damages of the insured. In spite of increasing the ratio of construction insurance policy in the construction industry, project managers have regarded the insurance as a formal action in the budget through insurance companies' guides. These aspects make them not be able to valuate the reasonableness of premium rate and the real amount of the risks. This thesis is to present an improved method of construction insurance contract. Firstly, the status of the current construction insurance system have been anlyzed and the problems have been deducted. Secondly the development direction against the problems is presented in the research. Lastly, the procedure model is proposed for acquiring the resonable premium rate of insurance.

  • 본 연구는 국내 건설기업의 현장프로젝트조직 사업 참여자를 대상으로 현장프로젝트 사업 참여자간 간 통제유형에 따라 조직몰입과 협력 및 현장프로젝트 성과에 어떠한 영향을 주는지를 살펴보고자 하는 실증연구이다. 본 연구에서는 통제를 산출통제(Output Control), 과정통제(Process Control), 사회통제(Social Control)로 구분하여 통제유형에 따라 현장프로젝트 참여자 간 조직몰입과 협력 및 현장프로젝트성과에 어떠한 유의한 영향을 미치는지 실증분석을 통하여 알아보고자 한다.

  • As building construction projects have been more higher and bigger in scale, the needs for cost reduction, productivity improvement, and reducing of work terms have rapidly increased in recent years. There has been, accordingly, a great emphasis on the necessity of logistics and progress management by well-organized system developed based on the appliance of different management theories. Although highly developed IT technology has contributed to the efficiency and effectiveness in information research and project management, RFID has been merely applied to a single progress or a few types of materials in current management studies, not to the overall process of the projects. This research proposes a consistent and systemized approach for decision making in adopting RFID technology in a construction project to support construction logistics and progress management. With a decision making model that consists of process model and template developed in this research, risks in cost, time, and error in building RFID-based construction logistics and progress management could be minimized.

  • The importance of early project planning is broadly recognized for construction projects. From the planning step, If extensive historical data related with the project is applied effectively, It can be major resource for estimating cost and project scope. However, The accumulation, analysis, and application of historical data is not sufficient in Korea. So useful information of construction project has disappeared. In order to solve the problems, Project Historical Data Management Systems is need to be developed. The purpose of this study is to analyze current problems and to find the method to utilize historical data in similar project.

  • This study proposes FREES(Fuzzy Risk Evaluation Expert System) for analyzing and evaluating risks occurring during the construction process. The feasibility of this system model was tested by virtual scenario. For the development of the model, at first, risk breakdown structure was established based on risks identified in the existing researches, that is quantitative and qualitative. FREES can reflect human cognition process in the risk analysis and evaluation by adopting artificial intelligence fuzzy theory, differentiating the existing quantitative analysis model. The FREES can be applied to all the project phases from planning to operation & maintenance stage.

  • This paper examines the method of evaluation for feasibility study factors on housing development projects which can assist project managers to asses potential sources of risk. The aim is to reduce uncertainty on the project objectives. The major initial goals for a feasibility analysis are to define a limited set of key related factors which apply to housing development project according to development and market environment, condition of project planning and economics. Thus, in order to construct types of factors related with the feasibility, the research executes Delphi Method subjected personnel in the task to explore housing development projects. Such exploration provide the information for Importance Index, Extra Weight and the Mean of Extra Weight that is used for constituting confines of factors related with a feasibility analysis.
