Safety-related accidents are continuously increasing in the construction field. In order to prevent or minimize such accidents, a systematic and active safety activities of on-site managers and workers are required. However, preexisting advance research is lacking on how the safety organization systems are built in construction sites varying in sizes, and how well-trained the related personnel are in safety knowledge and task performances. Especially, a research on the analysis of the formation of their safety knowledge sharing and safety performance cooperation and their visualization is virtually nonexistent. In this regard, this research was conducted with a purpose to study the generalized safety organization method of domestic construction sites, analyze the safety knowledge and cooperation system of the members based on the SNA method and ultimately provide a hands-on data that could be effectively utilized in building an effective safety management system in the future.

한국건설기술연구원은 1983년 6월 재단법인으로 출범하여 1988년 1월에 건설기술관리법에 의거 정부출연연구기관으로 승계.설립되었고 1999년 1월 건설교통부의 국립건설시험소와 통합후, "정부출연연구기관 설립.운영 및 육성에 관한 법률"에 의거 국무총리실 산하 공공기술연구회 소속기관으로 승계되었다. 건설기술연구원은 건설기술개발, 정책개발, 건설기술관리, 품질 인증 및 정보유통망구축 등의 업무를 수행하는 명실공히 우리 나라 최고의 건설기술종합연구 기관이다.

There is growing importance for intellectual capital, so corporations are developing Knowledge Management System (KMS) for Knowledge Management. There are two way in performing Knowledge Management, that is, Information Technology(IT) approach and Non-IT approach. IT approach focuses on developing KMS, and Non-IT approach people, business process, organizational culture and policy. According to interviews with experts and people in charge of knowledge management divisions, the IT approach and Non-IT approach should be adopted simultaneously for effective knowledge management. And, more focus should be placed especially on the Non-IT approach than IT approach for successful knowledge management. This research analyzed success and failure factors in knowledge management by questionnaire for experts and employees.
