A Study of Cutting Method of H-Pile for Explosive Demolition of SRC Structure (철골구조물 발파해체를 위한 H형강 절단방법에 대한 연구)

  • It follows in deterioration of the steel frame structure and becomes remodeling and removal. The construction work characteristic, economical efficiency and stability environment characteristic are planned and considered hereafter control plan of the steel frame structure which is deteriorated currently to cutting mettled plentifully sued on gas cutting of H beam. However it will not be able to apply from the explosives demolition which is makes a weak instantaneously and then collapses the building at the time. In this study, shape charge was used for cutting of the H-beam. That is the element testing to estimate explosives demolition for steel frame structure. As a result, it is found for single-side rutting method, both-sides rutting methods by H-beam thickness and pre-rutting process. It confirmed an affix method and an ease characteristic by fixing tool. Also, it is shown that air blasting decreased about 8dB(A) in order to reduce air blasting used by sand box. However, it will be required to reduce air blasting little more because explosives demolition will be done in urban site.

  • 중량물 혹은 철골구조물 등을 고정시키는데, 건축구조물의 철골기둥, 터빈 제네레이터 기기등을 콘크리트 구조물에 부착시키기 위해 널리 쓰인다. 1990년대 들어 국내 건물의 리모델링, 보수 및 유지관리의 증가에 따라 앵커의 사용량도 현저히 증가하고 있으나 대부분 고가의 외국산제품을 수입하고 있다. 현재 국내외에 주로 시행되는 앵커타입은 마찰형 앵커이나 마찰형 앵커와 달리 지압형 앵커의 경우, 외국에서는 이미 그 유효성에 대한 인식이 널리 퍼져있으며 각국의 지반조건에 적합한 설계법이 개발되었다. 그러나 국내의 경우 이러한 연구가 미진한 실정이며 이에 대한 연구가 절실한 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 중량물앵커(Heavy Duty Anchor)의 인장시험을 실시하여 내력을 규명하고 도출한 결과를 기존 시험연구 결과와 비교분석하여 기 제안된 이론식들과 사업경제성에대해 보다 깊이있고 정확한 적용성을 입증하는데 본 연구를 수행하였다. 시험을 통한 저강도 파괴시험의 결과 구조부재의 접합부에서 각 시험체마다 뽑힘파괴가 발생하였으며, 뽑힘파괴가 발생한 시험체는 앵커강재의 파괴력 또는 콘크리트의 콘파괴를 발생시키기에는 앵커슬리브의 확장력이 작게 작용되었다. 그 결과, 콘파괴 대신 구조부재의 접합부에서 뽑힘파괴가 발생되었으며 이를 통해 설계시, 앵커의 안정성을 증가시키기 위해 구조부재의 접합부를 연성적이며, 부가여력을 충분히 지니도록 설계하는 것이 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 고강도 파괴시험의 결과 콘파괴가 발생되었음을 알 수 있는데, 본 시험에 사용된 앵커의 경우 정착위치가 구조물의 연단 모서리 거리와 너무 근접하여 앵커의 내력이 감소하게 되어 콘크리트의 콘강도가 발생되기 전에 먼저 파괴되었다. 따라서 설계시, 앵커의 파괴강도를 증가시키기 위해 앵커의 정착위치를 고려한 설치를 통해 앵커체결과정에서 적정 연단거리를 확보하는 것이 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 앵커볼트 최소간격과 연단거리에 따른 파괴시험결과 앵커볼트의 간격이 허용범위 내에서 넓어질수록 불균등 부반력의 차는 감소하였으며, 최대 부반력도 감소하였다. 따라서 앵커의 파괴저항강도를 증가시키기 위해서는 허용범위 내에서 앵커볼트의 설치간격을 증가시키는 것이 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

Study of giving the conventional marketplaces a welcome boost through image research (재래시장 활성화를 위한 이미지요소 추출 방법에 관한 연구)

  • There are various ways of the conventional market boost are suggested for an urban renewal recently. Presently, the government has decided to invest total 8 hundred and 10 billion dollars, including a budget of 4 hundred and 60 billion dollars and a capital of the local government, for it for the next 3 years. But, Since Its business has been focused on the redevelopment of the surroundings; remodeling, building parking lots and elevators etc, it has not solved the basic problems of the traditional marketplaces themselves. This research shows the right way to boost the traditional markets with the characteristic of them through case studys from the different cities, revaluation of their images besides the western styled wholesale markets. The survey targets on the traditional marketplaces and the wholesale markets around Tea-Hwa river in Ulsan. And, the different impressions of them are evaluated based on SD(semantic differential method) with citizens' general point of views of them, the sampled pictures and relevant adjectives. The conventional market boost finds the way to be succeeded through the analysis of a primary element base on the survey.

  • EIFS system has the merit of low construction cost and shortening of construction period by easy-to-construct. For such reasons as mentioned above, it has been using across the board such as residential building, school, officetel, building remodeling and so on. It, however, has a drawback of generating plenty of combustible gases from styrofoam which is main material of it. In this regard, measures to prevent losses of life from combustible gases are needed urgently as fires on residential buildings applied EIFS caused human casualties resulted from combustible gases. With respect to the above, this study will analyze the risk of fires on residential facilities, such as multi-family apartment houses, schools and other buildings, applied EIFS which is the most frequently used as material of exterior wall and suggest countermeasure of it.

Impact Assessment of Remodeling Works on Indoor Air Quality in a University Library Building (대학 도서관 건물 리모델링에 따른 실내공기질 영향 평가)

  • Recently, there have been a large number of remodeling (or renovation) works in old buildings in urban areas. Compared to new buildings, environmental risk might be more significant in such buildings where remodeling works are going on, since some parts of the building may still be in service for people. This study was carried out to investigate the impacts of remodeling works on the indoor air quality (IAQ) of a large building (a 22 stories university library). Indoor air monitoring was conducted during and after the remodeling works every two weeks for a one year period, and target compounds included BTEX, styrene, TVOC, carbonyl compounds such as formaldehyde and acetaldehyde. $CO,\;CO_2,\;PM_{10}$, and $PM_{2.5}$. Overall, the IAQ appeared to be recovered within two months after the remodeling works. However, in some places, concentrations of formaldehyde, toluene, xylene. and ethylbenzene showed higher levels even after works than those during the works. The results indicate that painting, glues and office furnitures are major sources of aromatic VOCs and formaldehyde. Therefore, in order to decrease the concentrations of toxic VOCs, the use of environmental-friendly building materials is strongly recommended during the remodeling works. In addition, IAQ control and management scheme (for example, baking the inside of the building) should be taken into consideration before reopening the buildings.

An Estimation of Shear Capacity of Hexagonal Masonry Walls Under Cyclic Loading (반복하중을 받는 육각형 블록 벽체 전단내력평가)

  • Masonry structures have been used throughout the world for the construction of residential buildings. However, from a structural point of view, the masonry material is characterized by a very low tensile strength. Moreover, the bearing and shear capacity of masonry walls have been found to be vulnerable to earthquakes. In this study, to improve the seismic performance of masonry walls, hexagonal blocks were developed and six masonry walls made with hexagonal block were tested to failure under reversed cyclic lateral loading. This paper focuses on an experimental investigation of different types of wall with hexagonal blocks, i.e. walls with different hexagonal blocks and with different reinforcing bar arrangements, subjected to applied cyclic loads. The cracking, damage patterns and hysteretic feature were evaluated. Results from the hexagonal masonry wall were shown more damage reduction and less brittle failure in comparison to the existing rectangular masonry walls.

  • The Domestic housing Industry has to give consequence to the redevelopment and rebuilding of existing housings rather than the supply by developing a new building site, and now those tendencies are rapidly spreading out. Also, because apartment buildings occupies 50% over of the existing housing, its maintenance, repair, remodeling and reconstruction got to be necessary area for the slumming prevention of a residential area and the disaster prevention occurred by durability lowering of the building. It is increasing the interest for reusing and recycling of C&D waste. The government is doing efforts to diminish amount of C&D waste. But there couldn't find any efforts for developing Integrated system to manage and to estimate lightly generated amounts of C&D waste. So, this study presents a integrated computer system that can estimate easily quantity of C&D waste by using CAD draw and 3D Object.

A Case Study on BIM-enabled Evaluation of Design Alternatives for an Actual Remodeling Project in Korea - Focusing on the Spatial Program Review in Early Phase of Design -

  • This paper depicts a case study of the BIM (Building Information Modeling)-enabled evaluation of design alternatives for an actual remodeling project in Yeongwol, Korea. The increase of urban population and income followed by the growth of economy has derived massive supply of grand scale housing project in Korea since 1970s. Consequently, building remodeling became one of the feasible resolutions for renovating such old housings in these days. This paper aims to introduce a technical approach to such remodeling projects based on BIM-enabled applications focusing on quantitative analysis of design alternatives. Among the technical issues of such building remodeling projects, this paper focuses on the BIM-enabled area analysis and comparison between design alternatives to support decision-making even in early phase of remodeling design process. BIM and its variety of applications have broadly influenced the domain of AEC-FM (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Facility Management) within the lifecycle of buildings. As one of the applications facilitated by BIM, the automated area calculation and scenario-based comparison between alternatives can play an important role in the early phase of remodeling project. We modeled three design alternatives (buildings) and three housing modules (units) based on the actual case in Yeongwol city, Korea using a BIM design authoring tool. Nine combinatorial BIM models were demonstrated for the BIM-enabled review process described in this paper. To determine the most optimal design scenario among nine alternatives, this paper demonstrates a result of the conducted spatial program review. The main subject includes specific spatial program issues on; 1) the number of unit spaces; and 2) area of individual/grouped and private/shared spaces.

Analysis of GHG Reduction Scenarios on Building using the LEAP Model - Seoul Main Customs Building Demonstration Project - (LEAP 모형을 이용한 건축물의 온실가스 감축 시나리오 분석 - 서울세관건물 그린리모델링 시범사업을 중심으로 -)

  • This study is intended to set a greenhouse gas emission scenario based on green remodeling pilot project (Annex building of Seoul Customs Office) using LEAP model, a long-term energy plan analysis model, to calculate the energy saving and greenhouse gas emission till year 2035 as well as to analyze the effect of electric power saving cost. Total 4 scenarios were made, Baseline scenario, assuming the past trend is to be maintained in the future, green remodeling scenario, reflecting actual green remodeling project of Seoul Customs Office, behavior improvement and renewable energy supply, and Total scenario. According to the analysis result, the energy demand in 2035 of Baseline scenario was 6.1% decreased from base year 2013, that of green remodeling scenario was 17.5%, that of behavior improvement and renewable energy supply scenario was 21.1% and that of total scenario was 27.3%. The greenhouse emission of base year 2013 was $878.2tCO_2eq$, and it was expected $826.3tCO_2eq$, approx. 5.9% reduced, in 2035 by Baseline scenario. the cumulative greenhouse gas emission saving of the analyzing period were $-26.5tCO_2eq$ by green remodeling scenario, $2.8k\;tCO_2eq$ by behavior improvement and renewable energy supply scenario, and $2.0k\;tCO_2eq$ by total scenario. In addition the effect of electricity saving cost through energy saving has been estimated, and it was approx. 634 million won by green remodeling scenario and appro. 726 million won by behavior improvement and renewable energy supply scenario. So it is analyzed that of behavior improvement and renewable energy supply scenario would be approx. 12.7% higher than that of green remodeling scenario.

A Study on the Development of the Architecture of the Public Libraries in the U.K. (영국 공공도서관 건축의 발전 과정에 관한 연구)

  • The British public library services could be provided earlier than other countries as a result of the Industrial Revolution which was started in the U.K. earlier than other countries. Britain has steadily been building public library infrastructure during the last 150 years and currently maintains the highest level of public library services and operation. Until the 20th century, each local government in Britain remodeled other buildings into libraries and adopted a small and simple form of library building to build more libraries and also to help the convenient use of library, while minimizing the cost of library construction. The construction of public libraries of local governments was supported by the Public Libraries(and Museums) Act enacted in 1850. Korea is in an effort to build more public libraries. The study suggests that a small and simple form of library building should be constructed in order to build more public libraries with minimum costs.
