  • Mapping of EXPRESS, which is object-favored language to represent IFC model, to Relational Database is not straightforward. Model size can be much bigger and data can be missed through process. However mapping to the object concept added database, such as Object Oriented Database or Object Relational Database, may be simpler and have lots of advantages. This study investigates previous IFC mapping studies, concept of Relational Database and Object Oriented Database, and mapping methodology to Object Relational Database using object.

  • XML 문서가 웹에서 많이 사용됨에 따라, 기존의 DBMS를 이용하여 XML 문서를 저장하고 관리하는 XML 저장 시스템에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행 중이다. 그러나 지금까지의 연구는 대부분 풍부한 모델링 기능을 제공하는 객체관계형 DBMS보다는 관계형 DBMS에 기반하여 이루어져 왔다. 본 논문에서는 오디세우스 객체관계형 DBMS를 위한 XML 저장 시스템인 ODYSSEUS/XMLStore를 설계하고 구현한다. 첫째, XML 문서 구조에서 객체관계형 데이타베이스 스키마로의 매핑에 대해 분석한다. 둘째, 분석된 매핑을 기술하는 방법을 표준 언어인 XML Schema를 활용하여 제안한다. 셋째, 사용자가 정의한 매핑 정보에 의거하여 XML 문서를 객체관계형 데이타베이스에 저장하는 세부 알고리즘을 제안한다.

  • As XML documents become popular in the World Wide Web, a lot of research is being done on XML storage systems that store and manage XML documents using existing DBMSS. However, most of them have been done in the context of relational DBMSS rather than object-relational DBMSS, which have more powerful modeling capability than relational ones. In this paper, we design and implement an XML storage system, ODYSSEUS/XMLStore, for the ODYSSEUS object-relational DBMS that has been under development at KAIST. First, we analyze the mapping from the structure of XML documents to the relational or object-relational database schema. Second, we propose a method for describing the mapping analyzed using a standard language, XML Schema. Third, we propose a storage structure for storing the mapping information specified by the users in the database. Fourth, we propose detailed algorithms for storing XML documents in the relational or object-relational database based on the mapping information provided by the users.

  • 본 논문에서는 객체지향 패러다임의 구조적 특성을 적용하여 만든 시소러스를 이용하여 웹 자원의 의미적 연관성을 RDF 형식으로 표현할 수 있는 RDF 문서 자동 생성기를 소개한다. 객체지향 시소러스를 RDF 형식으로 나타내기 위해 시소러스에 사용된 객체와 관계의 내용을 명세한 네임 스페이스를 정의하여 시맨틱 웹에서 메타데이타를 기술하는 표준이 되는 RDF와 RDF Schema 형식으로 매핑할 수 있다. 이러한 연구를 통해 객체지향 시소러스의 내용을 RDF 형식으로 표현함으로써 지식베이스(KnowledgeBase)라 불리는 온톨로지를 생성할 수 있으며, 구축된 온톨로지는 시맨틱 웹 상의 에이전트나 다른 어플리케이션에 응용될 수 있다.

  • 웹기반 기업형 어플리케이션은 객체지향 언어로 개발되고, 데이터의 관리는 RDB(Relational Database)를 이용하여 구축된다. 두 시스템은 이질적 패러다임에 기인하여 모델의 불일치성(object-relational impedance mismatch)을 발생시킨다. 이 문제를 해결하고자 사용되는 객체-관계 매핑 프레임워크(ORM-Framework)는 RDB 의 테이블과 객체지향 언어의 객체를 매핑하는 구조로 복잡한 메타정보를 이용하여 동적으로 매핑하기 때문에 개발이 복잡하고, 변경에 유연하지 못하여 유지보수에 많은 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 ORM 프레임웍크의 복잡성을 해소하고, 변경에 유연한 퍼시스턴스 프레임워크를 제안한다. 제안되는 프레임워크는 SQL 을 래핑하는 구조로 테이블과 객체의 메타정보가 불필요하고, 정형화된 구조를 가진 래퍼의 사용으로 소스코드를 자동 생성하여 개발 및 유지보수의 편의성을 제공하고, 변경에 유연하다. 제안 프레임워크는 Hibernate, iBATIS 와의 테스트 결과 구동 매커니즘이 거의 동일한 iBATIS 와는 처리속도가 비슷했고, Hibernate 의 약 3 배 빠른 속도를 보였다. 코딩량은 Hibernate 대비 1/9, iBATIS 대비 1/4 을 나타냈다.

  • Web-based Enterprise Intranet System is developed Object-oriented programming language and data management is constructed using RDBMS. Between Object-oriented programming language and RDBMS bring about "Object-Relational Impedance Mismatch" due to heterogeneous paradigm. To solve this kinds of problems commonly use the ORM Framework that it is converting data between incompatible type systems in databases and object-oriented programming languages, uses complex mapping metadata. It causes difficult to develop and maintain because of inflexible in changes. This paper proposed persistence framework that solve the existing complexity of ORM framework and has more flexible in evolution of database table. This persistence framework is unnecessary meta information that connecting with entity of database table and the objects, it offers users convenience of maintenance and it allows far more flexible and affordable systems to be built because of automatically code generation. The result of testing based on the proposed persistence framework with Hibernate, iBATIS, It is similar response time with iBATIS and it has more about three times faster than Hibernate. But iBATIS has problems of mass data processing.

Auto-Analysis of Traffic Flow through Semantic Modeling of Moving Objects (움직임 객체의 의미적 모델링을 통한 차량 흐름 자동 분석)

  • Recently, there are interested in the automatic traffic flowing and accident detection using various low level information from video in the road. In this paper, the automatic traffic flowing and algorithm, and application of traffic accident detection using traffic management systems are studied. To achieve these purposes, the spatio-temporal relation models using topological and directional relations have been made, then a matching of the proposed models with the directional motion verbs proposed by Levin's verbs of inherently directed motion is applied. Finally, the synonym and antonym are inserted by using WordNet. For the similarity measuring between proposed modeling and trajectory of moving object in the video, the objects are extracted, and then compared with the trajectories of moving objects by the proposed modeling. Because of the different features with each proposed modeling, the rules that have been generated will be applied to the similarity measurement by TSR (Tangent Space Representation). Through this research, we can extend our results to the automatic accident detection of vehicle using CCTV.

  • Recently, there have been increased many 3 dimensional graphic applications in Internet. Thus, a growing number of methods have been proposed for retrieving 3-D graphic data using their 3D features such as color, texture, shape, and spacial relations. However, few researches focus on 3D graphic modeling and database storage techniques. In this paper, we introduce a system that can store 3D graphics data modeled by XML-based 3D graphics markup language, 3DGML, and support content-based retrievals on 3D data by using SQL. We also present a mapping technique of 3DGML to relational database. The mapping process includes the extraction of semantic information from 3DGML and translate it into relational format. Finally, we show examples of SQL queries which use the 3D information contained in a 3D scene such as objects, 3D features, descriptions and scene-object component hierarchy.

  • In this paper, we proposed multimedia based ExamBank system in web environments. In the proposed system the database was designed based on the object-relation model and the application program was implemented with Java such that independent execution would be possible to guarantee no fault for multi-client in Web environments. We defined the Exam entities as objects, and implemented those inter-relationships as user definition and type. In addition, by mapping the schema object of DBMS and JAVA class, it becomes to possible transferring the object systematically between DHMS and JAVA application server.

Determination of 3D Object Coordinates from Overlapping Omni-directional Images Acquired by a Mobile Mapping System (모바일매핑시스템으로 취득한 중첩 전방위 영상으로부터 3차원 객체좌표의 결정)

  • This research aims to develop a method to determine the 3D coordinates of an object point from overlapping omni-directional images acquired by a ground mobile mapping system and assess their accuracies. In the proposed method, we first define an individual coordinate system on each sensor and the object space and determine the geometric relationships between the systems. Based on these systems and their relationships, we derive a straight line of the corresponding object point candidates for a point of an omni-directional image, and determine the 3D coordinates of the object point by intersecting a pair of straight lines derived from a pair of matched points. We have compared the object coordinates determined through the proposed method with those measured by GPS and a total station for the accuracy assessment and analysis. According to the experimental results, with the appropriate length of baseline and mutual positions between cameras and objects, we can determine the relative coordinates of the object point with the accuracy of several centimeters. The accuracy of the absolute coordinates is ranged from several centimeters to 1 m due to systematic errors. In the future, we plan to improve the accuracy of absolute coordinates by determining more precisely the relationship between the camera and GPS/INS coordinates and performing the calibration of the omni-directional camera
