A Characteristics of Scenic Maintenance Regime with Integral Planning in Mojiko-Retro District (모지코 레트로지구의 경관관리제도와 중점지구 통합 계획적 특성)

  • The purpose of this study is that investigated the characteristics of integral planning related factors using the history and culture of Mojiko. It is a small city that has been urbanized after the opening of the port for logistics transportation in the modern period of Japan. As the function of the logistics city, which is the factor of the expansion of the town, declined, Mojiko applied the retro concept to the harbor which has lost its popularity due to the regional characteristics of the city to increase and revitalize local visits. Mojiko has steadily promoted the retro style of landscape and town development over 30 years, focusing on 18 Historical buildings and modern infrastructure. We analyzed characteristics of integrated urban planning include the regulation, landscape institution. Moreover, we suggest the result of the designation process of a core scenery maintenance district and the components of the plan after the designation analysis and provide essential data for revitalizing the field based on the historic city for the cultural establishment and beautiful town in the future. And deliver vital data to reviving the area based on the historical city culture establishment and beautiful town in the future.

A Study on the Formation of Urban Squatter in Korea and their Housing Culture from Socio-historical Point of View (사회사적 관점에서 본 우리나라 도시빈민의 형성배경과 주거문화 - 개항 이후 토막민촌부터 한구전쟁 직후 판자촌까지 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide the basic information about the formation background of urban squatter and their housing state in Korea. This study was progressed on the basis of socio-historical point of view from the opening of a port to the after the Korean War. In that sense, this study considered meaning of housing for urban squatter in the Korean housing history. For this study, the formation background of the urban squatter was divided into three periods. The first period was after the opening of a port (1876-1910) when the inflow of Japanese and their plundering from Korea started. The second was Japanese occupation period (1910-1945) which contributed to increase the number of Tomak (mud hut) and made the Tomak-min's village. The third period was Korean war & postwar years (1945-1953). This period was divided into three parts again; after the Korean independence (1945-1950), during the Korean War (1950-1953), and after the Korean War (1953-). The urban squatter was settled in the national land and the public land in each period and experienced the severe housing shortage. The government of the time could not protect the urban squatter from the special national states such as the Japanese rule and the Korean War.

  • The southern region including Guangzhou(黃州), the capital of Guangdong Province, was called "South of the Mountain Range" (嶺南) because it is located south of the Five Mountain Ranges (五嶺) which made mobility difficult prior to unification of China by Qin dynasty (秦) in 221 BCE. The Guangdong region of the South of the Mountain Range (嶺南) was an administratively independent unit and, as such, called the Nanyue kingdom (南越國). This is the origin of the Chinese character "yue", and terms such as yueyu (Cantonese), yuecai (Cantonese cuisine), yueju (Cantonese opera) are still in use today. Guangzhou, called Panyu (番禹) during the Nanyue kingdom period, was settled early in the northern part of the Pearl River (珠江, Zhu Jiang) delta. It became the first port to open its doors to the great powers of the West during the Qing period. Although it has now fallen behind Shanghai which developed later, Guangzhou is still the third largest city after Beijing and Shanghai, and thus, it is an influential open coastal city. Today, not only is Guangzhou the world center of the light textile industry, it also spurs development in various manufacturing industries. Along with nearby Hong Kong, Macao, and Shenzhen, it plays the role of cradle of the Pearl River delta economic zone. Firmly established early on as the greatest central city in southern China, Guangzhou is simultaneously a hub in various aspects such as regional politics, economics, and culture; it was also the center of revolution and resistance which attempted to challenge the northern political powers. Guangzhou is known for the history of the rise and fall of its port, but with developmental efforts, it still maintains its influence. Guangzhou's dynamic development of today brings with it issues such as the environment and moral system which must be dealt with.

Industrial Fluctuations and Locality of Busan with Records (기록으로 본 부산의 산업변동과 로컬리티)

  • This study analyzes the process of growth of Busan from a fishing village to the capital city of South Gyeongsang Province and the central city of transportation and commerce, and an industry with records. The results of the analysis are as follows: after the port opened in 1876, there has been a decline in settlement spaces in Dongnae; on the other hand, there has been an increase in migration spaces around the port of Busan. Waegwan (倭館) nearby Yongdusan Mountain (龍頭山) was changed to the Japanese concession; thus, the number of Japanese moving into Busan had rapidly increased. As a result, the Japanese government carried out reclamation work for securing available lands for the construction of port facilities and other facilities. The Japanese government built public offices and houses, as well as production facilities for daily necessities around the port of Busan. The opening of the Seoul Busan railway (京釜線) and the cross-channel liner between Busan and Shimonoseki (釜關連絡船) led to the growth of Busan and the development of its status. At this time, as the main industry of Busan was trade, Busan had grown as a commercial city. As Busan had grown as a central city of transportation and commerce, the provincial government building of Gyeongsangnam-do (慶尙南道) moved to Busan. Thus, Busan became the central city of local politics and administration. After the Land Survey Project, a large scale of farmers were recruited for low-wage work in the new port. Because of the abolition of the corporation law, Japanese capitalists moved into their colony in Busan. There, large-scale factories, such as the Joseon cotton textile factory, were established. Through this process, the locality of Busan was changed from a fishing village to a commercial city and, finally, to a city of commerce and industry.

  • This study is change of the street space of the port city of Yokohama and the transformation process of the canal. modern port city Yokohama is a region that was responsible for the development of East-West maritime transport routes in Japan in the 17th century and the inland transportation through fishing villages and ports. it has also grown rapidly as a regional port and new port. In particular, through the revitalization of trade between foreign settlements and Japanese residents in the port area, the existing fishing area became a modern port city space. Yokohama went through the following process and grew into a modern port city. The construction of the port harbor and the maintenance of existing logistics functions, the formation of the central horizontal axis through maintenance of the fishing village, the construction of the logistics movement route to the inland area through the construction of the canal, the expansion of the horizon for fire prevention and fire restoration, The formation of a new settlement space according to the movement, the transformation of the existing religious axis by the combination of the elaboration and the introduction of modern transportation, and the spatial connection between the inland cities.

A Study on Conservation and Practical Use of Incheon Old Town Urban Tissue (인천 구도심 도시조직의 보전 및 활용에 관한 연구: 지구단위계획의 내용과 실효를 중심으로)

  • This study reviewed details and case studies of district unit planning to preserve and develop urban tissues concerning a historic urban environment and provide implications for future practice. In particular, this case study examined the role of the district unit planning in city conservation rooted in the experience of Incheon's old town. The old town begins with the opening of Incheon Port and concessions, including Japanese, Qing Dynasty, and multinational settlements. Second, the study established land subdivision planning and reviewed the institutions to encourage urban tissue. Third, the conservation guidelines influenced the conservation and utilization of the streets, such as alleys and old coastlines, the form of parcels called deep and narrow lots, and the exterior elements of buildings. This study also derived implications for the future. First, the street with historical value in the settlement should be excavated further. Second, the parcels in the settlement limit redevelopment to maintain the unique morphological characteristics. Third, the exterior of the buildings should be provided with planning incentives to induce conservation and utilization.

  • In principal, the original form of Eupchi landscape in Naepo reflects a traditional idea regarding direction as a connection with one's fortune and naturalization strategy of power. In reality, the weight for the landscape inside the castle town was distinct by locality according to the conditions of natural geographies and main function of the castle town. In other words, the traditional Eupchi landscape was shaped under the fixed principles but it was simultaneously reflecting the local temporality and spatiality. As Chosun Dynasty went under the Japanese colonization, Eupchi in the traditional period started to evolve into a modem city. That is to say, the traditional Eupchi as a political place became to change into the center of capital accumulation, stronghold of economy and education, and center of town beyond the function as a place for government and administration. Therefore, the process of change from the landscape of Eupchi to a modem city was a kind of revolution in the form and function, and it was also a very rapid rearrangement of social space. The disparate element of landscape and double social space worked as a vital inertial element in the urban structure of Naepo area until the post independence and evolution of landscape.

  • 토목기술이란 토목사업을 지탱하는 기술로서 여기서 토목기술이란 토목을 주로 하여 건축구조의 공학적인 것을 포함한 기술이라고 할 수 있다. 토목사업은 오늘날 국토의 보전ㆍ수자원개발ㆍ교통로정비(항만포함)ㆍ도시와 지방계획 및 상하수도를 포함한 도시건설 등이며, 어느 것이나 국민의 생산과 생활환경개선 등 우리 인간의 앙적한 생활과 복지편익을 추진시키는 기간산업이 아닌 것이 없다. 그래서, 인간사회가 발전을 갈망한다면 토목건설사업이 선행되어야하고, 토목사업으로 확립된 기반아래 국민들의 건전한 생활이 영위되는 것은 물론이다. 토목이라하면 주로 우리나라에서는 국토건설로서 지역, 또는 국가사회의 경제발전에 크게 영향을 미치는 토목건설사업을 말한다. 이것은 토목기술의 발전이 그때 그때의 건설사업으로서 구상화되는 까닭이라 하겠다. 한편, 인간의 가치관에 변화가 생기고 자원문제ㆍ공공문제ㆍ생활환경문제 등이 크게 변화하는 단계에 있어서도 그 방향을 탐색하고 우리 인간 및 국가사회가 의도하는 건설공간구상을 계획하고 사업화 하는데 매우 중요한 것은 토목건설인 까닭에서이다. 이런 의미에서 최근 100년간의 경이적인 서구의 근대화 과정에서의 토목기술 발전, 즉 이 기술이 매우 오늘날 세계를 변혁시킨 사실에서 출발한데 대비하여 우리 나라 개항 100년 이후의 안타까운 우리의 기술수용과정을 볼 때 1986년 강화도조약 이후 한반도는 일본 및 청국을 위시한 구미열강외세의 각축장으로서 혼미된 서구근대기술의 도입요람기로 시작하여 1810년 한일합방에서 8.15해방까지 일본통치하에서 타율적인 토목ㆍ건축기술의 도입으로 한마디로 말해서, 거의 70년간의 진통기가 있음을 엿볼 수 있다. 하지만 최근 30년 사이에 그야말로 우리 토목기술터전은 급격하게 성장 발전하고 있다.

Estimation of Ecology of Urban Areas Natural Rivers that use LAWA (LAWA를 이용한 도심지역 자연형 하천의 생태성 분석)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내에서 자연형 하천의 복원이 이루어진지 5년 이상이 된 도시지역의 하천을 LAWA(Laenderarbeits-gemeinschaft Wasser = 연방물관리연구공동체)(2000)를 이용하여 하천의 물리적 구조를 평가하였다. 물리적 구조 평가에서는 하천의 종적특성 및 종단면, 횡단면, 하상구조, 하안구조 및 하천변의 토지 이용성 등 6개항의 25개 세부항목으로 구성된 하천의 자연성과 하천의 인공성 정도를 가늠하였다. 그 결과 기 조성된 국내의 하천의 생태성이 크게 개선되어지지 않았음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 근거로 볼 때에 과거의 자연형 하천 조성방법에 대한 근본적인 문제점을 살펴보고 개선책을 찾아야할 것으로 사료된다. 특히 도심하천의 경우 이, 치수의 기능 위주로 정비가 되어 있었기 때문에 자연형 하천으로의 복원 후에도 주변의 좋지 않은 구조물들에 의해서 물리적 등급이 낮게 평가되었다. 따라서 앞으로 하천 스스로 생태성, 자연성을 회복할 수 없는 구간에 대한 하천설계에서는 물리적 구조 향상을 위한 적극적인 방안이 시도 되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

A Study on the Effects of Domestic and Foreign Economic Change to Incheon Economy and Incheon International Airport (국내외 경제변화가 인천경제 및 인천국제공항에 미치는 영향분석)

  • This study made an attempt at the empirical analysis of the influence of domestic, foreign economic changes on economy in Incheon & Incheon International Airport. For this purpose, this study, setting up the member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development(OECD), Incheon Metropolitan City, and Incheon International Airport as research objects, conducted multi-regression analysis and path analysis of 11-year economic changes after the opening of the Incheon International Airport in 2001. As a research result, it was found that internal, external economic changes didn't show a positive influence on economy in Incheon, and growth & revitalization of the Incheon International Airport while international economic factors showed a directly positive influence on economy in Incheon, but the total effect directly related to Korean economy showed a negative influence. Accordingly, economy in Incheon has to actively cope with home, foreign macroeconomic change factors, and further, the endogenous growth strategy is required; as the methodolog.
