인터넷 방송은 “통신과 방송의 융합”이라는 시대의 한 흐름 속에서 주목을 받고 있다. 대화형, 개인화, 풍부한 채널자원 등의 특성을 갖는 인터넷 방송은 기존 방송매체와의 차별화를 통해 인터넷 TV, 교육방송 및 주식/뉴스 전달서비스 등의 관련 인터넷 응용서비스 산업의 발전을 주도하고 있다. 인터넷 방송서비스는 여러 수신자를 대상으로 하는 다자간 통신서비스임에도 불구하고, 현재 대부분의 인터넷 방송 전송시스템이 유니캐스트 방식에 의존하고 있다. 이는 네트워크에서의 대역폭 및 송신시스템 장비의 이용 측면에서 비효율적이며 동시 접속자 수 측면에서도 한계를 지닌다. 또한, 유니캐스트 트래픽의 중복 전송으로 인해 네트워크의 과부하 및 병목 현상을 유발할 수 있으며, 이로 인해 전체적인 서비스품질 저하를 초래하고 있다. 본 고에서는 인터넷 방송 전송기술의 효율성을 증진시키고 나아가 관련 산업경쟁력 강화를 위한 멀티캐스트 기술의 적용 방안에 대하여 논의하고, 이를 위해 세부적으로 요구되는 멀티캐스트 기술에 대하여 살펴본다.

최근 미디어 소비 환경은 지상파 방송과 같은 Mass Media 중심에서 모바일, Multi Device 기반의 개인화 서비스 위주로 변화하고 있다. 이에 따라 국내외 다양한 유료방송사, 통신사, 지상파 방송 사업자들은 변화하는 미디어 소비환경에 유연하게 대응할 수 있는 차세대 방송 플랫폼 도입을 위한 연구를 진행하고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 케이블TV 방송사업자가 변화하는 미디어 소비 환경에 유연하게 대처할 수 있는 IP기반 방송 플랫폼에 대해 연구하였다. 이를 위하여 실감 미디어 제공을 위한 양방향 미디어 전송 환경의 연구와 MPEG의 차세대 미디어 전송을 위한 표준화 현황을 알아보고, IP기반의 방송 플랫폼의 필요성 그리고 플랫폼의 구조에 대하여 설계 하였다.

지난 2021년, 국내 최초로 온라인 소비가 오프라인 소비를 뛰어넘을 정도로 언택트 경제가 급부상하였다. 덕분에 언택트 시장의 주도권을 가진 라이브 커머스는 무서운 속도로 성장하고 있고, 이는 적어도 2023년까지 이어질 것으로 예상된다. 중소기업은 물론 대기업, 심지어 개인까지 라이브 커머스 시장에 탑승한 현재, 라이브 커머스 시장의 경쟁력은 점차 사라지고 있다. 이로 인해 공급자들은 차별성을 두기 위해 여전히 다양한 방법을 찾아 시도하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 계속해서 수요되는 라이브 커머스 시장에서 경쟁력을 갖출 수 있는 방법으로 LED Wall의 활용을 제안한다.

This paper examines the factors that influence viewers' attitudes toward the public service broadcasting (PSB) system and the license fee. A online survey group was classified into four types on the basis of their expectations and evaluations of public values and demographic characteristics. Subsequentially, the attitudes each type of the viewers displayed toward the PSB system and the license fee were analyzed. The result reveals that young women in their 20-40s have more negative attitudes toward the PSB system than any other groups; those women tend to have high expectations on 'diversity' whereas they show low satisfactions with all the other public values. Additionally, this study attempted to detect factors that affect the attitudes toward the PSB system and the license fee. The important factors was not only the viewers' demographic characteristics but also their expectations and evaluations regrading the public values of PSB.

Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) provides an interactive and personalized service for realizing integrated broadcasting and telecommunication services. Set-top box (SIB) connected to TV is an essential component required for IPTV and has a unique hardware identifier used in identification and authentication. It means that subscriber authentication based on box-level identification is inconsistent with IPTV's main intention of providing personalized services. The proposed solution is to provide an opportunity to use the flexible user-centric authentication mechanism through Java Card applets in IPTV application server and 3G networks. This paper suggests personalized services by moving the user's private data and authentication management beyond the STB to a truly personalized device, the ubiquitous mobile phone. In addition, this paper presents effectiveness and security analysis for verifying the proposal.

방송통신위원회는 2011년부터 개인정보보호 관리체계(PIMS)를 시행하고, 심사를 통해 신청기업이 개인정보보호를 위해 일정수준 이상의 관리적 기술적 물리적 대책을 수립 및 운영하고 있을 경우 인증을 부여하고 있다. 이에 따라 이용자 및 정보주체는 해당 기관의 인증취득 여부를 통해 개인정보의 누출가능성을 최소화하고 효과적으로 보호하고 있음을 갈음하는 수단이 되고 있다. 본고에서는 개정 정보통신망법에 따라 지난 9월11일 방통위 의결을 통과한 개정 PIMS 고시에서의 주요하게 변화된 내용 중 민간인증기관 지정, 인증심사 항목의 개선에 대해 살펴보고, PIMS 인증을 준비 중인 기업의 이해를 돕고자 한다.

This paper introduces a new mobile music service, private music on demand (PMOD), which is implemented by mobile DJ in wireless and wired networks. The newly introduced PMOD service is based on the concept that users can have music services at anytime and by any form they want. The mobile DJ implementing PMOD services, therefore, enables users to do more than simply listening music through networks.

본 논문에서는 사람의 정면 얼굴을 찍은 컬러 동영상에서 얼굴의 각 구성 요소에 대한 특징점들을 추출하여 3차원 개인 얼굴 모델을 생성하고 이를 얼굴의 표정 움직임에 따라 애니메이션 하는 방법을 제시한다. 제안된 방법은 얼굴의 정면만을 촬영하도록 고안된 헬멧형 카메라( Head-mounted camera)를 사용하여 얻은 2차원 동영상의 첫 프레임(frame)으로부터 얼굴의 특징점들을 추출하고 이들과 3차원 일반 얼굴 모델을 바탕으로 3차원 얼굴 특징점들의 좌표를 산출한다. 표정의 변화는 초기 영상의 특징점 위치와 이 후 영상들에서의 특징점 위치의 차이를 기반으로 알아낼 수 있다. 추출된 특징점 및 얼굴 움직임은 보다 다양한 응용 이 가능하도록 최근 1단계 표준이 마무리된 MPEG-4 SNHC의 FDP(Facial Definition Parameters)와FAP(Facial Animation Parameters)의 형식으로 표현되며 이를 이용하여 개인 얼굴 모델 및 애니메이션을 수행하였다. 제안된 방법은 단일 카메라로부터 촬영되는 영상을 기반으로 이루어지는 MPEG-4 기반 화상 통신이나 화상 회의 시스템 등에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.

본 논문에서는 모바일 환경에서의 얼굴인증 성능 향상 방법을 제안한다. 제안했던 기존 방법에서는 다중 반경 LBP 히스토그램을 분석하고 임계값을 적용하여 개인별 주요 블록을 구성하였다. 이 때 임계값의 적용에 따라 인증 성능의 변화가 발생할 수 있고, 주요 블록에 동일한 가중치를 적용하기 때문에 블록의 분별력을 크게 고려하지 않았다. 제안하는 방법은 주요 블록에 가중치를 적용하는 방법으로 주요한 블록과 비교적 덜 중요한 블록의 분별력을 높여 개인인증의 성능을 향상시킨다. 실험 결과 제안하는 방법이 기존 방법들 과 비교하여 낮은 에러율을 보였다.

IPTV has been launched to provide a simple convergence service with broadcast and communication, and now it is evolving to support personalized service capabilities according to user's requirements. The paper presents DSON architecture and its control model to provide personalized features and user centric capability in IPTV services over service overlay network. Furthermore, the paper introduces DSON based service models on community IPTV and home IPTV service model.
