  • Due to spread of movies or online games which are applied with computer animation techniques, we can easily see scenes where numerous characters appear. In the case of large-scale crowd animation, if one were to increase reality of the scene, features of system would be lowered, and if one were to increase functioning of system, reality of the scene would be lowered. In realizing large-scale crowd animation with seafloor environment as background, the paper analyzed and applied elements that affect behavioral types of fishes; and by using concept of crowd, the paper enabled each group or object to control their behavioral type; by comparing and contrasting real-time calculation method as calculation method for animation and hybrid calculation method which is mixed calculation method, the paper seeks to find a method that increases functioning of the system while also expresses natural scenes.

  • A parallelization of the bi-conjugate gradient solver for the pressure equation of the CUPID (component unstructured program for interfacial dynamics) code, which was developed for analyzing the components of a pressurized water-cooled reactor, was studied in a symmetric multi-processing system. The parallel performance was investigated for three typical parallel programming models (MPI, OpenMP, Hybrid) by solving incompressible backward-facing step flow at various grid resolutions. It was confirmed that parallel performance was low when problem size was small or the memory requirement for each thread was considerably higher than the cache memory. Furthermore, it was shown that MPI was better than OpenMP regardless of the problem size, and Hybrid was the best when the number of threads was relatively small.

  • Single-phase is used widely power of field of appliance because can use commercialized power directly without power transform. Specially, because condenser nu-drive style single-phase induction motor efficiency is excellent, and most suitable in embodiment as economical. It is established true that method by crossing self-discipline and method by revolving magnetic field are interpretation of net single-phase induction motor, but method to calculate electric motor inside proper move in existent theory or method is some complex. That arbor in the law of circuit constant that combine equivalent circuit law with numerical analysis law according to development of the latest computer or microprocessor is suggested and does the calculation processing fast and correct. In this paper, measurement wishes to present method that calculate after calculate digital measurement that measures correctly and measures impossible the first and the second leakage reactance and no-load test locked-rotor test, DC test and resistance measurement of stator winding in circuit parameter calculation program that is had for MatLab program individually in single-phase power.

  • 광전환 효율 20% (AM1.5G) 이상의 고효율 화합물 박막태양전지의 광흡수층으로 많은 관심을 받고 있는 $Cu(In,Ga)Se_2$ (CIGS) 태양전지의 광흡수층은 다양한 공정에 의해 제조가 가능하다. 현재 고효율 CIGS 셀 생성을 위해 널리 사용되고 있는 CIGS 흡수층 성장공정은 "co-evaporation (동시증발법)"과 2-step 공정이라 불리는 "precursorselenization(전구체-셀렌화)" 방법이다. 동시증발법은 개별원소 Cu, In, Ga, Se들을 고진공 분위기에서 고온(550~600$^{\circ}C$) 기판위에 증착하는 방법으로 소면적에서 가장 좋은 효율(~20%)을 보이는 공정이다. 하지만, 고온, 고진공 공정조건과 대면적 증착시 온도 및 조성 불균일 등의 문제점 등으로 상용화에 어려움이 있다. 전구체-셀렌화 공정은 1단계에서 다양한 방식(예: 스퍼터링, 전기도금, 프린팅 등) 방식으로 CuGaIn 전구체를 증착하고, 2단계에서 고온(550~600$^{\circ}C$)하에 H2Se gas 혹은 Se vapor와 반응시켜 CIGS를 생성한다. 일본의 Showa Shell와 Honda Soltec 등에 의해 이미 상업화 되었듯이, 저비용 대면적으로 상업화 가능성이 높은 공정으로 평가되고 있다. 하지만, 2단계에서 사용되는 H2Se 및 Se vapor의 유독성, 기상 Se과 금속전구체 간의 느린 셀렌화 반응속도, 셀렌화반응 후 생성된 CIGS 박막 두께방향으로의 Ga 불균일 분포, 생성된 CIGS/Mo 계면 접착력 저하 등의 문제점들이 개선, 해결되어야만 상업화에 성공할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 Se layer가 코팅된 금속전구체의 셀렌화 반응메카니즘을 in-situ high-temperature XRD를 이용하여 연구하였다. 금속전구체는 스퍼터링, 스프레이 등 다양한 방법으로 제조되었고, 반응메카니즘 연구결과를 바탕으로 Se 코팅된 금속전구체를 이용한 급속열처리 공정의 최적화를 시도하였다.

Estimation of Household's Willingness to Pay for Ground Water Pollution Improvement (지하수오염 개선에 대한 지불의사액 추정)

  • This paper attempts to examine households' willingness to pay (WTP) for ground water pollution improvement which can be used in cost-benefit analysis on the project for developing the soil pollution control technique. We applied a contingent valuation (CV) method to obtain at least a preliminary evaluation of the WTP. The CV survey was rigorously designed to comply with the guidelines for best-practiced CV studies. We surveyed a randomly selected sample of 500 households in Seoul metropolitan area and asked respondents questions in person-to-person interviews about how they would be willing to pay for the program. Respondents overall accepted the contingent market and were willing to contribute a significant amount (1,195 to 1,552 won), on average, per household per year. The aggregate value of the project for developing the soil pollution control technique amounts to approximately 20.3 billion won per year. The household values can be the benefits that ensue from the project and compared with the costs of the program to determine whether the project is economically desirable.

Pre-Service Science Teachers' Understanding and Views of Argument-Based Inquiry Approach (논의 중심 과학 탐구에 대한 예비과학교사의 이해와 인식)

  • This study was designed to explore pre-service secondary science teachers' understanding and views of argument-based inquiry approach. Participants were 17 pre-service secondary science teachers enrolled in chemistry curricular materials and teaching methods course for majors in the college of education at a university in Seoul. Main data sources included each student responses to an open ended survey and individual interviews. Data analyses indicated that the pre-service teachers had very limited and biased understanding on scientific inquiry at the beginning of the semester. While the pre-service teachers understood that scientific inquiry should be an essential component of science teaching, a few pre-service teachers mentioned 'argumentation' or 'discussions' when they defined what scientific inquiry is. The majority of the pre-service teachers mentioned that science should be taught through scientific inquiry since science is inquiry itself. However, the pre-service teachers expressed several potential barriers and their concerns on implementing argumentation in scientific inquiry. While they concerned about students' lack of participation at the beginning of the semester, they concerned more about the teachers' ability of leading student argumentation at the end of the semester.

Optimum Design of Reinforced Concrete Plane Frames Based on Section Database (데이터베이스에 기반한 RC 평면 프레임 구조물의 최적설계)

  • For the purpose of optimum design of reinforced concrete structures, pre-determined section database of column and beam are constructed and arranged in order of the resisting capacity. Then, regression equations representing the relation between section number and section resisting capacity are derived. In advance, effective optimization algorithms which search optimized solution quickly using direct search method from these database are proposed. In practice, from the fact that engineers conduct member design close to capacity optimization rather than cost optimization, both capacity and cost optimization using proposed algorithms are performed, and the review for the obtained results are followed. Moreover, the investigation for the applicability and effectiveness of the Introduced design procedure is conducted through correlation study for example structures. Because of no restriction in constructing objective functions with very simple optimization processes and fast convergence, the introduced method can effectively be used in the preliminary design stage. Especially, selected solutions from database are directly applicable in practice because these sections already satisfy all the requirements in design codes and practical restrictions.

  • The development of proper joint model, which can describe real phenomena exactly and still can be used easily, is one of the most important element for the analysis of the mechanical and hydraulic behavior of discontinuous rock mass. In this study, an elasto-plastic constitutive model of joint behavior considering asperity degradation was extended with the concept of first and second order asperities. The proposed model was implemented to numerical code with discrete finite joint element. The parametric study with the various asperity angles and degradation coefficients showed that the model can reproduce the shear behavior of typical rough joints well. Results of laboratory monotonic and cyclic shear tests were compared with those of numerical tests to validate the model. The hydraulic model considering the relations between gouge production and aperture was introduced to the mechanical model. In an attempt to examine the performance of the model, comparative numerical test was conducted. Permeability between joint surfaces increased rapidly at the first stage, but became nearly constant with increasing shear displacement due to gouge production and uniform variation of aperture distribution.

Spatial Gap Estimation for Word Separation in Handwritten Legal Amounts on BAnk Check (필기체 수표 금액 문장에서의 단어 분리를 위한 공간적 간격 추정)

  • An efficient method of estimating the spatial gaps between the connected components has been prposed to separatethe individual words from a handwritten legal amount on bank check. Owing to the inherent problem of underestimation or overestimation, the previous gap measures have much difficulty in being applied to the legal amounts that usually include the great shape variability by writer's unconstrained writing style and touching or irregular gaps between words by space limitation. In order to alleviate such burden and improve word separation performance, we have developed a modified version of each distance measure. Through a series of word separation experiments, we found that the modified distance measures show a better performance with over $2-3\%$ of the word separation rate than their corresponding original distance measures.
