There are some important that development of tools to retrieve information by simple operation in large of nave users in the world wide web. In general, query formulation method and operators are variety, not easy to formulate query in information retrieval system or web based retrieval engine. In this paper, we propose "Concept Wizard" to support query formulation with concept term expansion in natural language query information retrieval system. The Concept Wizard are interactively supporting query formulation using thesaurus and Providing plug-in on the web.

We propose a personalized concept-based retrieval technique that uses domain ontology. Proposed system consist or representative concept extraction, user profile construction, and concept-based retrieval stages. First, we extract representative concept with using technique form contents and create the domain ontology. We compose user profile analysis that uses domain ontology for personalized concept-based retrieval. To verify the efficiency of the proposed technique, we perform experiment for Internet site in the engineering area. The results of experiment show that the proposed technique using the domain ontology and user profiles is more efficient than the existing techniques. Hence, the proposed concept-based retrieval technique can be expected to contribute to the development of an efficient personalized recommendation system or e-Commerce system.

멀티미디어 분야가 급성장하면서 좀더 효율적으로 멀티미디어 자료의 저장, 처리, 검색을 위한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 특히, 내용기반 시각정보 검색에 있어 지능형 시스템(Intelligent System)을 접목하여 의미적 접근을 시도하는 I-CBIR(Intelligent-Content Based Image Retrieval)에 관한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 또한, 내용기반 이미지검색 시스템에 온톨로지(Ontology)의 이론을 적용하여 이미지에 의미를 부여하여 개념적 검색이 가능하도록 노력하고 있다. 이러한 연구에서 적용된 대형의 온톨로지는 이미지 검색 시스템에 적합하지 않게 너무 방대한 정보를 가지고 있으며, 또한 시대적 변화에 대응하지 못하여 I-CBIR 시스템에서 그 효율성을 제대로 발휘하지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 많은 대형 온톨로지 중에서 WordNet을 선택하여, WordNet의 구축 방법에 기반한 자동차(Car)에 대한 도메인 온톨로지(Domain Ontology)를 구축해보고, 구축된 도메인 온톨로지를 적용함으로써 더 향상된 I-CBIR 시스템이 되도록 하였다.

의미적인 정보검색을 위한 시맨틱 웹에 대한 연구가 본격화되었다. 시맨틱 웹을 위한 핵심은 개념과 개념들 사이의 관계를 정의한 온톨로지이다. 온톨로지를 분석하고, 분석된 결과에 포함되어 있는 새로운 사실들을 추론하여 가능한 많은 결과를 이끌어 내는 것이 의미적인 정보검색의 기반이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 온톨로지에 정의된 개념들을 분석하는 범용적이고 빠른 파서와 파서를 통해 분석된 사실을 바탕으로 더욱 많은 새로운 사실을 추출할 수 있는 온톨로지 기반의 추론(Inference) 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다.

In this paper, we propose a new spatio-temporal representation scheme which can model moving objets trajectories effectively in video data and a new signature-based access method for moving objects trajectories which can support efficient retrieval on user query based on moving objects trajectories. The proposed spatio-temporal representation scheme supports content-based retrieval based on moving objects trajectories and concept-based retrieval based on concepts(semantics) which are acquired through the location information of moving objects trajectories. Also, compared with the sequential search, our signature-based access method can improve retrieval performance by reducing a large number of disk accesses because it access disk using only retrieved candidate signatures after it first scans all signatures and performs filtering before accessing the data file. Finally, we show the experimental results that proposed scheme is superior to the Li and Shan's scheme in terns of both retrieval effectiveness and efficiency.

기존 이미지 검색사이트는 대부분 이미지 파일의 이름에 포함된 단어를 기반으로 검색을 수행하였다. 좀더 진보한 이미지 검색을 위해서 하세도표를 이용한 색 구성 영역을 데이터베이스화 하고 Contour개념을 이용하여 이미지 자체의 직관적인 검색이 가능하도록 하는 시스템을 제안한다.

본 연구는 소스 코드를 재사용하기 위한 Case 기반 검색에 있어서 효율적인 검색 시스템을 구축하는 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 소스 코드의 객체지향적인 특성을 만족하기 위하여 각 노드 간 객체지향 상속의 개념을 표현할 수 있도록 초기 관련값을 시소러스로 구축하고자 한다. 이때, 각 Case를 구성하는 클래스들을 상속관계에 따라 개념적으로 분류하였고, 시소러스 방법에 퍼지 논리를 적용하여 객체지향 시소러스를 생성하여 의미망을 구축한다. 또한, 의미망의 노드와 간선을 활성화시키고 활성값을 전파시키기 위해 사용되는 spreading activation 방법의 단점을 보완하여 spreading activation의 성능은 최대한 유지하면서 검색 속도를 향상시킬 수 있는 방법을 제안하고자 한다.

텍스트 정보만을 이용하는 일반적인 검색엔진들의 한계를 극복하여 향상된 결과를 내기 위하여 링크 구조를 이용해 검색을 수행하는 시스템이 새롭게 등장하고 있다. 링크 구조는 사용자의 질의에 대해 중요한 문서들을 가려준다. 본 논문에서는 한 걸음 더 나아가 링크 정보를 이용하여 검색된 웹 페이지들 중 사용자의 기호에 적절한 결과를 도출하는 방법을 제안한다. 사용자 프로파일에 기반한 퍼지 개념 네트워크로 구축된 퍼지 문서 추출 시스템은 사용자의 성향을 반영하여 링크 기반 검색결과를 개인화 한다. 5명의 사용자에 대한 실험결과, 개발한 시스템이 의미 있는 웹 페이지를 검색함은 물론이고 사용자의 성향을 잘 반영함을 알 수 있었다.

본 논문에서는 교차언어 문서검색(CLTR: Cross-Language Text Retrieval)에서의 한-영 질의어 변환을 다룬다. 질의어 변환시 영어 대역어 획득과정에서는 다음 두 가지를 고려한다. 첫째, 한국어 질의어를 구성하는 단어가 한가지 개념을 기호화하지만 이에 대응되는 영어 대역어들이 하나 이상인 경우이다. 둘째, 질의어 구성 단어가 둘 이상의 개념들을 기호화하는 다의성을 지닌 경우이다. 전자의 경우는 영어 대역어들이 모두 동일한 개념, 또는 유사한 개념을 나타내므로 그대로 검색에 이용한다 해도 검색 성능을 크게 좌우하지 않지만, 후자의 경우는 모든 개념을 다 검색에 이용하게 되면 정확률(precision)이 크게 떨어지게 된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 개념 선택단계와 선택된 개념의 영어 대역어들에 가중치를 주는 가중치 부가단계로 나누어 질의어 변환을 수행한다. 본 논문의 질의어 변환에서 영어 대역어는 대역사전 대신 다국어 온톨로지인 KAIST 분류어휘표와 한영 음차복원 모듈을 통해 얻어진다.
