  • Despite the number of steel bridges being under in service more than 50 years reaches about 50$\%$ in present, the quantitative estimation in maintenance on steel railway bridges is not possible because a ton of the field data in the bridges have not been plentifully accumulated. Therefore, a series of field tests on the steel plate girder bridge, the typical types of steel railway bridges, are executed, and the stress characteristics of main members in steel plate girder railway bridges are quantitatively estimated in this study.

  • 고효율변압기란 철심소재를 아몰퍼스 메탈이나 방향성 규소강판 등을 사용하여 무부하 손실(철손)을 기존 변압기에 비해 약 70% 줄인 절전형 변압기를 말하며, 고효율자동판매기는 효율향상 및 제어방법을 개선하여 여름철 피크시간대 최대수요전력을 억제하고 전기에너지 절감도 가능한 자판기를 말한다. 이러한 고효율변압기 및 고효율자동판매기 보급지원제도에 대하여 소개하고, 고효율기기들의 보급활성화 방안을 모색해보고자 한다.

Factor Analysis Affecting on Changes in Handysize Freight Index and Spot Trip Charterage (핸디사이즈 운임지수 및 스팟용선료 변화에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석)

  • The handysize bulk carriers are capable of transporting a variety of cargo that cannot be transported by mid-large size ship, and the spot chartering market is active, and it is a market that is independent of mid-large size market, and is more risky due to market conditions and charterage variability. In this study, Granger causality test, the Impulse Response Function(IRF) and Forecast Error Variance Decomposition(FEVD) were performed using monthly time series data. As a result of Granger causality test, coal price for coke making, Japan steel plate commodity price, hot rolled steel sheet price, fleet volume and bunker price have causality to Baltic Handysize Index(BHSI) and charterage. After confirming the appropriate lag and stability of the Vector Autoregressive model(VAR), IRF and FEVD were analyzed. As a result of IRF, the three variables of coal price for coke making, hot rolled steel sheet price and bunker price were found to have significant at both upper and lower limit of the confidence interval. Among them, the impulse of hot rolled steel sheet price was found to have the most significant effect. As a result of FEVD, the explanatory power that affects BHSI and charterage is the same in the order of hot rolled steel sheet price, coal price for coke making, bunker price, Japan steel plate price, and fleet volume. It was found that it gradually increased, affecting BHSI by 30% and charterage by 26%. In order to differentiate from previous studies and to find out the effect of short term lag, analysis was performed using monthly price data of major cargoes for Handysize bulk carriers, and meaningful results were derived that can predict monthly market conditions. This study can be helpful in predicting the short term market conditions for shipping companies that operate Handysize bulk carriers and concerned parties in the handysize chartering market.

  • The purpose of this study was to improved the durability of a improved movable weir by replacing the improved movable weir's metal gate with a hybrid steel/glass fiber reinforced polymer composites panel gate. Because the metal gate of a improved movable weir is always in contact with water, its service life is shortened by corrosion. This study made four type of hybrid steel/glass fiber reinforced polymer composites panel gate with different steel gate surface deformation (control, sand blast, scratch and hole), flexural. Fracture properties tests were performed depending on the steel gate surface deformation. According to the test results, the flexural behavior, flexural strength and fracture properties of hybrid steel/glass fiber reinforced polymer composites panel gate was affected by the steel panel gate surface deformation. Also, the sand blast type hybrid steel/glass fiber reinforced polymer composites panel gate shows vastly superior flexural and fracture performance compared to other types.

Assessment of the Degree of Fatigue Damage in Steel Plate-Girder Railway Bridges According to Span Length (지간장에 따른 강판형 철도교의 피로피해도 평가)

  • Steel railway bridge gets vibration from moving load ; additionally, this kind of moving load is going to be a sufficient reason, which causes fatigue damage to steel railway bridge. Fatigue damage and stress curve were raised by moving load depends on span length in steel railway bridge. In other words, stress curve appears index regarding every axial load in short span, but self weight lets stress curve's change decrease in proportion to increasing span length. Thereby, we have studied that how the steel railway bridge appear fatigue damage in proportion to span length of steel railway bridge. Dynamic strain was measured in 4 steel plate-girder railway bridge during the trains was passing, which is located on the line of Kyoung-chun railway. And time history response analysis has been done in order to ensure actual survey. The results of this study show the decreased of the fatigue damage in steel railway bridge according to length of span. This paper ends is bases research of fatigue design in steel railway bridges according to span length.

An analytical study on behavior of the girder panel in simplified composite deck under construction loadings (가설하중 하에서 초간편 강합성 바닥판 거더패널의 거동에 관한 해석적 연구)

  • In this study, based on a I-roll embedded steel composite deck, it is suggested a new type of simplified composite deck and analyzed under construction loading. Using ABAQUS, it's estimated effects of welding amount of steel plate and I-section, existence of a hole of I-section's flange, and a location of hole. For a reasonable verification of modeling, compare Euler-Beam theory with F.E.M models. In result, it is verified that change of welding amount increase more maximum bending tension stresses at the central part's section of span when elements are partial-welded. Also, verify that deflection is slightly increased when a hole existed compared with no hole.

  • 파형강관은 아연도금강판을 물결모양으로 성형하여 나선형으로 조관한 연성관으로 콘크리트 흄관을 대체하여 각종 토목공사의 우수 및 하수관으로 주로 사용되고 있다. 파형강관은 강판에 물결 형상을 성형하여 내하력을 부여하였기 때문에 높은 강도를 지니고 있고, 경량이고 유연성이 있어 기초공사가 쉽고 현장에서의 운반 및 보관이 용이하여 그 활용이 점차 확대되고 있다. 이러한 파형강관의 내/외부에 기능성 고분자 복합 Polymer(다중필름)을 코팅하여 일반 파형강관 대비 더 높은 내식성 및 내마모성을 구현한 제품을 NPE 피복 파형강관이라 하며, 내부에 평판을 2중으로 결합하여 일반 파형강관 대비 통수능력을 개선한 파형강관을 내부평활 파형강관이라고 한다. 최근 파형강관의 활용이 점차 확대되고 있음에도 불구하고, 파형강관에 국한된 수리역학적 특성에 관한 연구는 미흡한 실정이며, 그마저도 주로 만관 혹은 만관에 가까운 상태에서의 흐름만이 고려되어 왔다. 하지만 대구경의 파형 강관이 우수 배관 및 하수 처리를 위하여 설치될 경우 개수로 흐름이 발생하게 된다. 이에, NPE 피복 파형강관과 내부평활 파형강관 내에서의 개수로 흐름을 다양한 유량 및 수심 변화를 통하여 생성하였으며, 각각의 수리학적 조건에서 통수능을 결정하는데 중요한 상수인 조도계수를 수리 실험을 실시하여 결정하였다. 이는 현재 국내에서 생산되고 있는 NPE 피복 파형강관과 내부 평활강관의 활용에 있어서 국제 경쟁력을 높이는데 큰 도움이 될 것이라 사료된다.

Retrofit of Artificially Perforated Shear Wall in Existing Structure (인위적인 개구부를 가지는 전단벽의 보강)

  • A series of three shear wall specimens were tested under constant axial stress and reversed cyclic lateral loading to evaluate the capacity of seismic retrofit proposed for the shear wall with the opening induced by remodeling. One specimen was tested in the as-built condition and the others were retrofitted prior to testing. The retrofit involved the use of carbon fiber sheets and steel plates (thickness ; 3mm) over the entire face of the wall. Specimens were 1/2-scale representations of a one-story wall in a Korean apartment building that was built in 1980. The test results showed that failure mechanism of specimens governed by shear fracture and the strength of specimens was varied with according to the retrofitting strategies.

A Study on the Composite Behavior of Simply Supported Composite Girders Considering the Partial Interaction (불완전 합성율을 고려한 단순합성형의 합성거동에 관한 연구)

  • Generally, in a steel-concrete composite gilder, the shear connector which was constructed between concrete deck and steel girder should have enough stiffness to behave as one body, because the conformity between plate and concrete deck is influences by the stiffness and spacing of the shear connectors. If the stiffness of shear connectors are insufficient, slip would happen at the contact surface. Partial interaction is the case that takes account of slips. In this paper, an easy method is presented to evaluate the stiffness or spacing of the shear connector according to the degree of imperfection without difficult calculations for a composite gilder with partial interaction. Also, the horizontal shearing force applied to the shear connector and the longitudinal axial force, which is occurs at contact surface between concrete deck and steel girder, have been presented in a simple influence line that is various to the parameters of sectional properties, degree of imperfection and applied load points. Furthermore, through the case study, it determined the relationships between the degree of imperfection and the follows 1) spring constants 2) axial force and horizontal shearing force 3) stress and neutral axis by using the partial differential equation based on Newmark's Partial Interaction Theory.

Evaluation of Moment Resistance of Rigid Frame with Glued Joint (강절형 목질접합부의 모멘트저항성능 평가)

  • In this study, specimens of rigid frame joint were produced by integrating joints with adhesive and other specimens were produced by inserting a wooden gusset integrated with a column member into a slit-processed beam member and joining them with pins. Then the moment resistance performances of the specimens were examined. For the wooden gusset, a GFRP-reinforced wooden gusset was used. The calculation results of perfect elasto-plasticity for the frame specimens for which a GFRP-reinforced wooden gusset was inserted into and joined with the slit-processed beam member by pins were 20-80% lower compared to the control group which consisted of steel plate-inserted frame specimens. The rigid frame specimens for which the column and beam members have been integrated with adhesive showed almost no initial residual transformations, as well as 38% greater initial rigidity and 41% greater plasticity compared to the steel plate-inserted joint.
