  • In this paper, we propose a smart automated warehouse to maximize space utilization. Previous elevator-type automatic warehouses were designed with a maximum payload of 100kg on trays, which has the problem of extremely limiting the number of pallets that can be loaded within the space. In this paper, we design a smart warehouse that can maximize space utilization with a maximum vertical stiffness of 300kg. As a result of the performance evaluation of the implemented warehouse, the maximum payload was 500.6kg, which satisfied the original design and requirements, the lifting speed was 0.5m/s, the operating noise of the device was 67.1dB, the receiving and forwarding time of the pallet was 36.92sec, the deflection amount was 4mm, and excellent performance was confirmed in all evaluation items. In addition, the PLC control method, which designs the control UI and control panel separately, was integrated into the PC system to improve interoperability and maintainability with various process management systems. In the future, we plan to develop it into a fully automatic smart warehouse by linking IoT sensor-based logistics robots.

  • For the goal of the proposal for optimum position of offset outrigger system, a structural schematic design of 70 stories building was carried out, using the general structure analysis program of MIDAS-Gen. In this research, the primary factors of this analysis research were the shear wall stiffness, the frame stiffness, the outrigger stiffness, the stiffness of column linked in outrigger system, etc. To achieve the aim of this study, we analyzed and studied the lateral displacement in top level, the force distribution of outrigger, the existing model of optimal outrigger location, and so on. This paper proposed the optimal position of offset outrigger system. Furthermore it is considered that the study results can be useful in getting the structure engineering data for seeking the optimal position of offset outrigger in the tall building.

  • A study on the evaluation of proper spacing and required flexural rigidity of cross beams in composite two I-section steel girder bridges without a lateral and sway bracing system was performed. Specifically, a 2-lane, 40-m simple span bridge and a 3-span continuous (40+50+10m) bridge were designed, and structural analyses under dead load before and after composite, live, wind, and seismic loads were performed using spacing and flexural rigidity or cross beams as parameters. Through parametric analysis, the effect on the stresses due to the combination of loads and live load distribution was investigated. In addition. material and geometric nonlinear analyses under dead load before composite were performed to evaluate the lateral buckling strength of the steel girders and cross beam. Based on the results or such analyses, the proper spacing and flexural rigidity of cross beams at intermediate points and supports were proposed.

  • A new inelastic design method performing iterative calculations using secant stiffness was developed. Since the proposed design method uses linear analysis, it is convenient and stable in numerical analysis. At the same time, the proposed design method can accurately estimate the inelastic strength and ductility demands of the members by performing iterative calculation. In the present study, the procedure of the proposed design method was established. Design examples using the proposed method were presented, and its advantages were highlighted by comparisons with existing design methods using elastic or plastic analysis. Unlike the existing inelastic design methods performing the preliminary design on the structure and checking its validity using nonlinear analysis, the proposed integrated analysis-design method can directly calculate the strength and ductility demands of each member. In addition, the proposed design method can address the inelastic design strategy intended by the engineer, such as strength and ductility limits of members and the design concept of strong-column and weak-beam. As a result, economical and safe design can be achieved.
