Error analysis for continuous wave cavity ring-down spectrometer (연속발진 레이저를 이용한 광자감쇠 분광기의 오차요인 분석)

  • We calculated the deviation of decay time owing to intensity noise of ring-down signal and the sensitivity owing to shot noise, dark current, and bit resolution error of the data acquisition device. We verified the sources of systematic errors caused by the drift of cavity loss depending on bias voltage and the oscillation of decay time caused by interfering effect of mirrors.

Accelerating Levenberg-Marquardt Algorithm using Variable Damping Parameter (가변 감쇠 파라미터를 이용한 Levenberg-Marquardt 알고리즘의 학습 속도 향상)

  • The damping parameter of Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm switches between error backpropagation and Gauss-Newton learning and affects learning speed. Fixing the damping parameter induces some oscillation of error and decreases learning speed. Therefore, we propose the way of a variable damping parameter with referring to the alternation of error. The proposed method makes the damping parameter increase if error rate is large and makes it decrease if error rate is small. This method so plays the role of momentum that it can improve learning speed. We tested both iris recognition and wine recognition for this paper. We found out that this method improved learning speed in 67% cases on iris recognition and in 78% cases on wine recognition. It was also showed that the oscillation of error by the proposed way was less than those of other algorithms.

  • NLMS 알고리즘을 채용한 음향반향제거기는 주변잡음에 대해서 적응필터의 계수가 오조정되어 반향제거기의 성능이 저하된다. 본 논문에서 음향반향제거기의 마이크 입력신호와 추정 오차신호의 상관도를 이용해서 주변 잡음신호에 의한 계수 오조정이 작은 적응 알고리즘과 잔여반향을 제거하기 위한 후처리기로 구성된 음향 반향 제거기를 제안한다. 기존의 NLMS 알고리즘이 입력신호의전력으로 적응상수를 정규화하지만 제안하는 알고리즘은 마이크 입력신호와 추정 오차신호의상관도와 입력신호 전력의 합으로 정규화한다. 적응필터가 반향 경로를 추정한 경우, 추정 오차신호에는 근단화자 신호가 대부분을 차지한다. 따라서 근단화자 신호가 있는 경우에는 상관도 값이 커져서 적응 상수가 작아지고 근단화자 신호에 의한 계수의 오조정을 줄일 수 있다. 후처리기도 마이크 입력신호와 추정 오차신호의 상관도를 마이크 입력신호의 전력으로 정규화한 값으로 추정 오차신호를 감쇠시킴으로써 근단화자 신호는 감쇠를 적게 하고 잔여반향을 감쇠시킨다. 멀티미디어 PC를 이용한 실험을 통해서 제안하는 알고리즘이 기존의 알고리즘에 비해서 우수한 성능을 보임을 확인했다.

  • 공동광자감쇠 분광학(Cavity Ringdown Spectroscopy, CRDS)은 고감도의 흡수분광법으로 미량기체의 농도나 흡수분광선의 연구에 사용되어 왔으며 화염이나 플라스마에도 응용되고 있다. 이 분광법은 시간에 따라 지수함수로 감쇠하는 공동광자감쇠신호의 감쇠상수를 측정하는 기술인데, 레이저의 밴드폭이 흡수선폭보다 넓으면 감쇠신호가 지수함수에서 벗어나 오차를 발생하게 된다. 그러므로 오차를 줄이려면 좁은선폭의 레이저를 사용하거나 공동광자감쇠신호의 주파수를 분리하여야 한다. 분광선폭보다 매우 넓은 선폭의 레이저를 사용하고 분광기를 이용하여 공동광자감쇠신호를 분리하는 방법들이 제안되었다. Study of the error chsracteristics in a mirror loss measurement system using an exqonential decay metod (지수감쇠 기법을 이용한 반사경 손실측정 시스템의 오차특성 연구)

  • Error characteristics of a mirror loss measurement system using an exponential decay method were studied, with the two samples having about 200-ppm-loss and 30-ppm-loss, respectively. In order to minimize the decay signal deviation from an exponential curve due to cavity length fluctuation, a data average method was tried. The data average method significantly improved the exponential curve fitting error of the decay signal, so that for a 6 decay signal data average the loss measurement error was reduced by about 2.4 times for the 200-ppm-loss mirror and 1.3 times for the 30-ppm-loss mirror compared with a single shot measurement. Day-to-day mirror loss repeatability error for the two samples was investigated. The repeatability error was measured to be about 5% for the 200-ppm-loss mirror and about 26.4% for the 30-ppm-loss mirror. Low decay signal average effect and high repeatability error in the low loss mirror measurement were explained with non-uniform spatial loss distribution of the sample and contamination from the environment, in addition to the error sources of the mirror loss measurement system itself. The influence of cavity length fluctuation and cavity length measurement error on the mirror loss measurement system performance was theoretically calculated. It confirmed that the requirement for the cavity length parameters was not so strict in the mirror loss measurement system of several ppm resolution. ution.

An Evaluation of Loss Factor of Damping Treatment Materials for Panels of Railway Vehicles (철도차량용 패널 감쇠처리재의 감쇠계수 평가)

  • This paper is a study on the evaluation of loss factor of damping treatment materials to reduce the noise and vibration for panels of railway vehicles and automobiles. In order to determine the modal parameters of damping materials, beam excitation tests were carried out using different type PVC coated aluminum and steel base beam specimens. The specimens were excited from 10 Hz to 1000 Hz frequency range using sinusoidal force, and transfer mobility data were measured by using an accelerometer. The loss factors were determined by using integrated program, based on theories of Half Power Method, Minimum Tangent Error Method, Minimum Angle Error Method and Phase Change Method, which enable to evaluate the parameters using modal circle fit and least squares error method. In the case of lower loss factor and data of linear characteristics, any method could be applied for evaluation of parameters, however the case of higher loss factor or data including non-linear characteristics, the minimum angle error method could reduce the loss factor evaluation. The obtained dynamic properties of the coating material could be used for application of Finite Element Method analyzing the noise control effects of complex structures such as carbody or under-floor boxes of rolling stock. The damping material will be very useful to control the structural noise, because the obtained modal loss factors of each mode show very good effect on over $2^{nd}$ mode frequency range.

ATC-55 Based Friction Damper Design Procedure for Controlling Inelastic Seismic Responses (비탄성 지진응답 제어를 위한 ATC-55에 기반한 마찰감쇠기 설계절차)

  • The purpose of this paper is to present a design procedure of a friction damper for controlling elastic and inelastic responses of building structures under earthquake excitation. The equivalent damping and period increased by the friction damper are estimated using ATC-40 and ATC-55 procedures which provide equivalent linear system for bilinear one, and then a design formula to achieve target performance response level by the friction damper is presented. It is identified that there exists error between the responses obtained by this formula and by performing nonlinear analysis and the features of the error vary according to the hardening ratio, yield strength ratio, and structural period. Equations for compensating the error are proposed based on the least square method, and the results from numerical analysis indicate that the error is significantly reduced. The proposed formula can be used without much error for designing a friction damper for retrofitting a structure showing elastic or inelastic behavior.

Optimization of the Number of Filter in CNN Noise Attenuator (CNN 잡음감쇠기에서 필터 수의 최적화)

  • This paper studies the effect of the number of filters in the CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) layer on the performance of a noise attenuator. Speech is estimated from a noised speech signal using a 64-neuron, 16-kernel CNN filter and an error back-propagation algorithm. In this study, in order to verify the performance of the noise attenuator with respect to the number of filters, a program using Keras library was written and simulation was performed. As a result of simulation, it can be seen that this system has the smallest MSE (Mean Squared Error) and MAE (Mean Absolute Error) values when the number of filters is 16, and the performance is the lowest when there are 4 filters. And when there are more than 8 filters, it was shown that the MSE and MAE values do not differ significantly depending on the number of filters. From these results, it can be seen that about 8 or more filters must be used to express the characteristics of the speech signal.

A Signal-Level Prediction Scheme for Rain-Attenuation Compensation in Satellite Communication Linkes (위성 통신 링크에서 강우 감쇠 보상을 위한 신호 레벨 예측기법)

  • This paper presents a simple dynamical prediction scheme of the signal level which is attenuated and varied due to rain fading in satellite communication links using above 10GHz frequency bands. The proposed prediction scheme has four functional blocks for discrete-time low-pass filtering, slope-based prediction, mean-error correction and hybrid fixed/variable prediction margin allocation. Through simulations using Ka-band attenuation data obtained from the data measured over Ku-band by frequency-scaling, it is shown that the slope-based prediction with the mean-error correction has as small standard deviation of prediction error as below 1 dB, and that the error is about 1.5 to 2.5 times as small as that without the mean-error correction. The hybrid prediction margin allocation requires smaller average margin than those of both fixed and variable methods.

  • 본 연구에서는 점탄성감쇠기가 설치된 비비례 감쇠 구조물의 바람에 대한 확률적 응답을 진동수영역에서 구하였다. 복소수 고유치 및 고유백터를 바탕으로 모드중첩법을 이용하여 응답의 RMS 값을 구하고 그것을 근사적인 방법인 모드 변형에너지법에서 얻은 결과와 비교하였다. 또한, 가력 진동수에 따라서 변하는 점탄성감쇠기의 강성 및 감쇠 계수를 상수로 모형화하였을 때의 풍응답 해석 결과의 정확성을 진동수영역에서 검증하였다. 해석결과에 의하면 감쇠기의 진동수 의존 특성은 구조물의 1차 고유 진동수에 의해서 비교적 정확하게 표현되었고, 모드 변형에너지법은 대체로 정확한 결과를 도출하였지만, 가속도 응답을 구할 때에는 다소 큰 오차를 유발하였다.
