Comparative Study on Coda Attenuation of the Korean Peninsula (한반도 코다 $\varrho$의 비교 분석)

  • Recently intrinsic and scattering quality factor ($\varrho_i^{-1}$ and $\varrho_s^{-1}$) was successfully separated from total quality factor ($\varrho_t^{-1}$) on the seismic data of the Korean Peninsula. From this result, we theoretically calculated the expected coda quality factor ($\varrho_{Cexp}^{-1}$) based on multiple scattering model, and compared with other quality factors such as $\varrho_t^{-1}$, $\varrho_i^{-1}$, $\varrho_s^{-1}$, and observed coda quality factor ($\varrho_c^{-1}$) obtained by single scattering model. While the $\varrho_{Cexp}^{-1}$ values are comparable to the $\varrho_i^{-1}$ values, the $\varrho_c^{-1}$ values are close to the values of $\varrho_t^{-1}$ rather than $\varrho_i^{-1}$ and $\varrho_{Cexp}^{-1}$ except for the 24 Hz frequency. This results suggest that the assumption of uniform scatterer in the Korean Peninsula is unrealistic.

  • The source of rock breakage by explosive blasting is the energy released from an explosive. It is transmitted to the surrounding rock mass causing various types of fracture of rock material. The reaction of explosives and the resulting action on the surrounding rock mass are completed in very short tine, making it almost impossible to observe the processes occurring in the interior of the rock mass. In this study several input parameters are investigated by numerical modelling of blast source and dynamic response of rock mass. It is shown that damping coefficient and rising time are major parameters affecting dynamics response of rock mass.

  • Shallow sub-bottom reflection recorders are obtained using dual frequency (15/100 KHz). The main goal of this study is to enhance the resolving power and penetration for the sub-bottom reflection of the sub-marine seismic exploration. The Fresnel zones of spherical waves for the near-field are of great importance to reach the high resoluton. In case a target to detects than the Fresnel radius, a diffraction hyperbola on the recorder is observed. A larger attenuation of sand makes less penetration than the smaller attenuation of silt and clay. It is found that the selective frequency as well as the seismic energy generation is the most important factors for sub-marine exploration. This technique of using dual frequency sub-marine exploration may be applied to detect the sub-bottom sludge soil, ocean contamination and marine archaeological relics.

A Study on the Attenuation of High-frequency P and S Waves in the Crust of the Southeastern Korea using the Seismic Data in Deok-jung Ri (덕정리 지진자료를 이용한 한국남동부지역 지각의 P, S파 감쇠구조 연구)

  • The attenuation characteristics($Q^{-1}$) are important factors representing the physical properties of the Earth interiors, and are essential for the quantitative prediction of strong ground-motion. Based on 156 earthquakes including 76 single-station record on the seismic station located Deok-jung Ri, southeastern Korea, we made the simultaneous measurement of P and S wave attenuation($Q_P^{-1}\;and\;Q_S^{-1}$) by means of extended coda-normalization method. Estimated $Q_P^{-1}\;and\;Q_S^{-1}$ decreased from $1{\times}10^{-2}\;and\;9{\times}10^{-3}$ at 1.5 Hz to $6{\times}10^{-4}\;and\;5{\times}10^{-4}$ at 24 Hz, respectively. This can be expressed by $Q_P^{-1}=0.01\;f^{-1.07}\;and\;Q_S^{-1}=0.01\;f^{-1.03}$ which indicate strong frequency dependence.

  • This study is to choose the most proper model for AGV throughout simulation of behavior of suspension to reduce trial and error because there is no AGV treating heavy weight at harbor loading and unloading at home. Therefore, we estimate the vibration modes of the various suspensions applied to AGV, which is over 75 ton included the weight of two containers using the Matlab in the case of G and 5G, one of the simulation programs.

  • 파쇄 암석의 파쇄도는 발파효율을 나타내는 중요 척도로서 적재와 분쇄 작업에 큰 영향을 미친다. 그러나 현장에 쌓여 있는 발파암 더미로부터 파쇄도를 조사한다는 것은 용이한 작업이 아니다. 본 연구에서는 석산 발파에서 가장 중요한 요소인 천공방식과 암질의 변화가 파쇄도와 발파진동에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 파쇄 입도에 영향을 미치는 중요한 변수인 천공방식, 암질등급(RMR), 현지 암반의 블록 크기, 발파진동 등의 영향을 파쇄암의 평균입도(MFS)와 상위 5개의 대괴 평균치$(L_5)$로 나타내었다. 연구결과, 파쇄암의 평균입도는 상위 5개의 대괴 평균치와 선형적인 관계를 보였다. 발파방법과 파쇄도 평가 결과 재래식 발파에서는 파쇄도를 예측할 수 없었고 커다란 옥석이 생성되었으나, 벤치발파에서는 평균파쇄암의 크기가 비교적 양호한 파쇄 상태를 유지하였다. 현지 암반 블록 크기는 평균 파쇄암의 크기와 선형적 관계를 나타내었다. RMR값이 커짐에 따라 발파진동 추정식의 진동상수 K와 감쇠지수 n의 절대값과 평균 파쇄암의 크기, 그리고 상위 대괴의 크기는 대체적으로 증가하는 경향을 나타내었고, 진동상수 K와 감쇠지수 n도 증가하는 경향을 보였다.

  • 스테레오 음향 반향 제거기는 채널신호간에 상호상관(cross-correlation) 때문에 적응필터 계수가 수신실의 반향 경로를 정확하게 추정하지 못한다. 본 논문에서는 상호상관을 줄이기 위해서 채널신호간 차의 절대값과 시변 감쇠상수를 이용하는 새로운 전처리 필터를 제안한다. 시뮬레이션을 통해서 제안하는 전처리 필터가 기존의 방법에 비해서 우수함을 보인다.

  • As a general-purpose device, the microprocessor has made a large impact on many area of engineering, In this paper, a controller has been implemented using microprocessors allowing the damping ratio ζ to be changed dynamically in control systems. The results show definite improvement in response time.
