Selection of Systemic Chemicals and Attractiveness of Sunflower to Ricania spp.(Hemiptera: Ricaniidae) Adults (갈색날개매미충 성충에 대한 해바라기의 유인력과 침투이행성 약제 선발)

  • Sunflower, selected as a trap plant that can be controlled by attracting Ricania spp. adults via attraction has the highest attractiveness during the preoviposition period. Considering the ecological characteristics of Ricania spp., adults are distinguished by the preoviposition and oviposition periods and the attractiveness of sunflower to Ricania spp. adults was 91.4~95.2% higher than that of blueberry during the preoviposition period. On August 20, when Ricania spp. adults entered the oviposition season, sunflower attractiveness was low at 9.8~11.6% owing to preference for tree species. Based on the result of the selection of systemic chemicals that could be used concomitantly with sunflower, all chemicals, except etofenprox, showed a high controlling effect of over 90%, and among them, dinotefuran showed the highest insecticidal rate of 95.8%. The systemic chemicals acetamiprid, dinotefuran, thiamethoxam, and imidacloprid persisted for 13 days (survey period). Therefore, the concomitant use of sunflower and systemic chemicals can reduce the density of Ricania spp. entering farmlands and their populations in surrounding habitats, which are expected to help in stabilizing the ecosystem.

  • 본 시험은 산란계에 생균제를 급여하였을 때 산란계의 산란능력과 계분내 유해가스 감소에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위하여 실시하였다. 산란계용 사료에 생균제를 0.2%와 0.5%를 처리한 구와 무처리의 3개 처리구를 두고 처리당 6반복, 반복당 4수씩 총 72수의 갈색 산란계(36주령)를 공시하여 6주간(42일) 사양 시험을 실시하였다. 산란계 사료에 생균제의 참가량을 증가함에 따라 산란율은 증가하였으며, 사료 섭취량은 감소하였다. 한편 계란의 품질에서는 생균제의 첨가량을 증가함에 따라 난중, 농후난백고, HU 및 난항색도가 증가하였다. 산란계의 영양소 이용율에서는 가용무질소물을 제외하고 건물, 조단백질, 조지방 및 조섬유 이용율이 생균제를 첨가함에 따라 증가하였다. 계분내 유해가스 발생량에서는 암모니아, 황하수소 및 멜캅탄 가스의 감소에 효과가 있었으며, 특히 황화수소의 감소에 효과가 있었다. 이상의 시험결과를 종합해 볼 때 산란계에 첨가한 생균제는 산란율을 증가시킬 뿐만아니라 계란의 품질 향상에 효과가 있었다. 또한 영양소 이용율을 개선하고 계분내 유해가스를 감소시키는 효과가 있었다.

Effect of LED Light Colors on Egg Production, Egg Quality and Reproductive Hormone Concentrations of Plasma and Oviduct in Brown Laying Hens Housed on Floor (LED 조명의 색이 평사 사육 갈색 산란계의 산란성적, 계란 품질 및 혈액과 난관 내 번식 호르몬 농도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the effect of LED light wavelength (color) on reproductive hormones and egg production of brown laying hens raised on floor. Red, blue, green and white colors of LED light were four treatments with four pens per treatment. One hundred forty four Hy-line brown laying hens (47 wks old) were allocated in a floor pen for six weeks trial. Egg production, egg quality, yolk cholesterol and hormones ($17{\beta}$-estradiol, progesterone) concentrations in plasma and oviduct were analyzed. Egg production of red group was higher (P<0.01) than that of green group. Haugh unit of eggs from red group was higher (P<0.01) than that of blue and green groups. Egg weight of green group was heavier (P<0.05) than that of red group. Shell of blue group was stronger (P<0.05) than that of red and white groups. Shell color of white group was browner (P<0.01) than that of blue and green groups. Yolk cholesterol of red group was higher (P<0.01) than that of others. Plasma $17{\beta}$-estradiol of red group was higher (P<0.05) than that of others at $3^{rd}$ week, but that of white group was highest (P<0.05) at $6^{th}$ week. Oviduct progesterone of green group was higher (P<0.01) than that of others. The result showed that the LED colors affect the reproductive hormone concentrations, egg production, egg weight and egg quality. This study suggested that red LED would be the most appropriate color for floor raising brown laying hens to sustain the egg production when it begins to decline with aging.

Effects of Dietary Protein and Energy Levels on Egg Production and Egg Weight of Laying Hens (산란계 사료의 에너지와 단백질 수준이 산란율과 란중에 미치는 영향)

  • Three experiments were conducted to investigate effects of dietary energy and protein levels on performance of laying hens. A total of 360 hens each of 352-day old Manina Brown (Exp.1), 280-day old Brown Warren (Exp.2) or 3174ay old Brown Warren (Exp.3) was divided into 20 pens of 18 birds. Each pen was assigned to one of the four dietary treatments with 5 replications according to a 2${\times}$2 factorial design, consisting of all possible cominations of two levels of metabolizable energy (2,500 and 2,800 kcal/kg of diet) and two levels of crude Protein (13 and 16%). All hens were housed two birds per cage. Exp.1 and 2 were conducted for four weeks and hens were fed experimental diets ad libitum, and Exp.3 lasted two weeks and feed consumption was restricted to 130g/hen/day. In Exp.1 and 2, increasing either energy or protein level in the diet numberically improved egg production. However, in Exp. 3, where feed consumption was restricted, egg Production was affected significantly 〈0.05) by the energy levies and numerically by the protein levels. Neither protein nor energy level influenced egg weight in Exp. 1 and 2, but in Exp. 3 the higher level of energy improved egg weight numerically, In all three experiments increasing either protein or energy level increased egg mass. Higher levels of either protein and energy tended to decrease feed consumption and improve feed conversion rate numerically. It should also be noted that the higher level of energy improved egg mass produced per unit intake of protein and the higher level of Protein improved egg mass produced per unit intake of energy.

Effect of Feeding the High Levels of Microcapsulated Inulin on Egg and Blood Lipid Profile in Laying Hens (산란계의 혈액 및 계란지질에 관한 고수준의 미세캡슐화 이눌린 급여효과)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the feeding effects of microcapsulated inulin (MI) from Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus L.) on blood lipid, fatty acid composition and cholesterol of egg in laying hens. Hyline brown layers of 25 weeks old were subjected to one of the following treatments for 4 weeks: a control group without MI, 800 ppm, 900 ppm, and 1,000 ppm. Compared with control group, levels of triacylglyceride and cholesterol in blood and egg cholesterol decreased significantly in groups MI groups. Egg saturated fatty acid was lower in MI groups than control group but not unsaturated fatty acid was significantly high in MI groups as compared to the group without MI. The results suggest that the addition of microcapsulated inulin to a laying hens' diet can improve egg quality by reducing blood lipids.

가금티푸스 발생현황과 대책

  • 1992년 8월 국내 최초로 갈색 산란계에서 발생한 가금티푸스는 1994년 폭염으로 인해 전국적인 발생을 보여많은 양계농장에 고통을 안겨왔으며, 현재까지도 지속적인 발생을 하고 있는 실정이다. 작금의 국내 양계산업은 갈수록 태산이라는 말이 적절할 정도로 새로운 질병이 발생되어 있으며, 또한 과거에 발생하였던 질병도 끊임없이 발생하고 반복되고 있다. 뉴켓슬병(ND), 전염성F낭병(IBD),가금티푸스(SG), 가금인플루엔자(AI),전염성기관지염(IB), ORT등이 현재 우리나라 양계장에 만연되어 있는 질병이다. 혹서기에 접어들면서 예외없이 많은 농장이 가금티푸스가 발병되고 있는 바 필자는 가금티푸스의 예방과 대책에 대하여 양축가의 이해를 돕고자 한다.

  • 갈색난의 색이 옅으면 상품가치를 저하시켜 난가에 영향을 주게 된다. 닭은 빛에 의해 비타민 D를 체내 합성을 할 수 있으므로, 고농도의 비타민 D3수준을 유지하면서 자외선에 노출 될 경우 독성으로 난각 색이 옅은 알을 산란하게 된다. 기존의 비타민 D3양을 공급하더라도 자외선에 노출 되지 않을 경우 난각 색은 정상으로 돌아온다. 산란 계의 간에서 비타민 D3독성은 난각 색 저하의 주된 원인으로 꼽히므로 사료 내 비타민 D 함량은 항상 일조량을 염두에 두고 결정 해야 한다.

  • 본 연구는 사료내 인분해효소 phytase을 첨가하여 곡류내 유기태인의 이용성을 최대화하고 인의 배설량을 최소화하므로서 저공해성 산란계 사료 개발에 기초자료로서 활용하는데 목적이 있다. 부화 후 64주령된 갈색 하이라인 24수(평균체중 1.9kg, 산란율 78.4%)를 공시하였다. 대조구는 옥수수-대두박 위주로 배합된 사료, 처리구는 대조구 사료에 각각 phytase를 200 unit/kg, 400 unit/kg 그리고 600 unit/kg 첨가한 구로서 4처리 3반복, 반복당 2수씩 완전임의 배치하였다. 건물과 질소 이용률을 보면 처리간의 차이는 보이지 않았다(P>0.05). 광물질 중 회분과 칼슘의 경우 phytase를 200 unit을 첨가한 구에서 가장 높은 이용률을 보였다(P<0.05). 인의 이용률은 phytase를 600 unit 첨가한 구가 57.64%로 다른 처리구보다 이용률이 높은 것으로 나타났다(P<0.05). 칼슘의 섭취량과 배설량을 고려한 결과 칼슘의 축적량은 phytase를 200 unit와 400 unit 첨가한 구가 대조구와 phytase를 600 unit 첨가한 구보다 높았다(P<0.05). 산란계에 대한 각각의 인의 섭취량을 보면 phytase를 600 unit 첨가한 구가 대조구, 200 unit 첨가한 구, 400 unit 첨가한 구보다 많은 양을 섭취하였으나(P<0.05), 인의 배설량에는 별다른 차이가 없었다(P>0.05). 그로 인해 인의 축적량 또한 phytase를 600 unit 첨가한 구가 다른 처리구에 비해 많이 축적되었다(P<0.05). 혈중 칼슘의 함량은 phytase를 400 unit 첨가한 구와 600 unit 첨가한 구, 대조구간에는 서로 유의적인 차이가 없었고, phytase를 200 unit 첨가한 구보다 그 함량이 높게 나타났다(P<0.05). 결론적으로 산란계 사료에 phytase를 첨가할 때 환경문제를 야기시킬 수 있는 인의 배설량을 감소시키고 값비싼 무기태 인의 일부를 대체하는데 크게 기여할 수 있으리라 사료된다.

Effects of Additional Calcium Additive on Egg Production, Feed Efficiency and Egg Shell Quality in Laying Hens (산란계 사료에 대한 칼슘 공급제의 추가공급이 산란능력과 사료효율 및 난각질에 미치는 영향)

  • Forty-wk-old 480 ISA Brown layers were used in a 10-wk feeding trial to investigate the effects of additional various levels of limestone to a low calcium diet without any calcium additives on the performance of laying hens. There were significant differences in average egg weight (P<0.05) without any specific trend among treatments and hen-day egg production was not influenced by the dietary treatments. Daily intake and conversion per kg egg of feed excluded the calcium supplement were significantly reduced (p<0.05) as the level of additional calcium supplement increased in both types of layer diet, while those of feed included the calcium source were significantly increased (P<0.05) as the level of additional calcium supplement increased. Egg specific gravity, eggshell breaking strength and thickness were increased as the level of additional calcium supplement increased, however the significant differences were found only in egg specific gravity It would be possible to reduce the daily feed intake and feed conversion and to improve the eggshell quality by feed the low calcium diet devoid of calcium supplement from the conventional laying hen diet and by supply the additional calcium source at 3 to 4 p.m. instead of the continuous feeding of conventional high calcium diet.
