  • This study aims to understand the research trends in visiting nursing through an analysis of 282 research papers published in Korean journals between 1993 and 2018. The number of research papers has consistently increased since 1993 while it slightly decreased in 2014-2018. Of the three types of visiting nursing in Korea, more than 50% of the studies(154, 53.5%) were conducted for hospital based home care services. For the research topics, many studies addressed visiting nursing services(40, 13.8%) and program and technology development of visiting nursing(38, 13.1%). Also, there were many quantitative studies(269, 95.4%) compared to qualitative(9, 3.2%) or mixed methods(4, 1.4%) studies. The study findings suggested the needs for further studies that develop programs for patients and strengthen competencies of visiting nurses. Also, more experimental, qualitative, or mixed methods study designs need to be applied.

Among them, 78.3% of the papers adopted quantitative research method. Concerning the IRB, 64.3% of the papers got an approval. It is expected that the present study can shed some lights on hospice care field by analyzing the trends of terminal care studies.

  • This study aims to identify the domestic research trends on nursing leadership and provide basic data that can be used for nursing leadership-related research and intervention development in Korea. To extract topics related to nursing leadership from 335 papers published in domestic academic journals from January 2012 to December 2021, the topic modeling technique was used. Keywords were extracted from abstracts, and literature searches were conducted in five domestic databases including DBpia, KISS, RISS, KM base, and Nanet. The study found that academic papers on nursing leadership have been steadily increasing, with self-leadership, self-efficacy, and education being identified as major topics. In addition, since self-leadership was the most frequently appearing keyword among the types of leadership, the study concluded that research on various forms of leadership should be more actively conducted. These research results are expected to contribute to enhancing understanding of nursing leadership in Korea. This study provides a new perspective on understanding the research trends on nursing leadership in Korea and analyzed the knowledge structure of domestic nursing leadership research, which is meaningful.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify trends in nursing research on multicultural family in Korea and suggest the direction for future research. A COSI model was used to guide the search process between the years 2008 and 2016, using the keywords 'cultural diversity', 'women', 'spouses', 'family', 'children' and 'nursing'. Of papers 137, 19 were doctoral dissertations, 10 were master's theses and 108 were from academic journals. Nursing research on internal married immigrant women has been steadily increasing since 2011. True experimental studies began in 2014 and most of the experimental studies were quasi-experimental studies. The research subjects were married immigrant women, and research on children, husband, mother-in-law and couple was very poor. The lack of information on the validity/reliability of the translated instruments were noted. The overall findings of this study suggest that future research should include more well-designed experimental studies. It is necessary to extend the study to husband and mother-in-law living with married immigrant women. Considering the ethnic background of the subject, it is necessary to develop a research tool with well-translated validity and reliability.

  • This study was conducted to analyze the research trends of 87 published studies in domestic journals on resilience of nursing students and propose some directions for future research. The main findings are as follows; First, the concepts of resilience were used in 6 different ways. Second, the number of quantitative research was overwhelmingly bigger(99%) than the ones of the qualitative and mixed research. Third, the protective, risk and changing factors were found in most studies around individual and university level. Throughout this study, it is confirmed that resilience is a very important factor that play a significant role in nursing students' adaptation. But it is required to clarify the concept of resilience and choose appropriate measurement scale. Also it is needed to conduct research with various designs in the future.
