This study examined the influence of patient safety culture and safety care activities of general hospital nurses. The participants were 178 nurses working in a hospital in D and G cities. Data were collected from June to July, 2015 through Questionnaires that included the Measure of Patient Safety Culture by Kim et al.(2007), and the Measure of Safety Care Activities by Lee(2009). The collected data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise Multiple regression. A statistically significant positive relationship was observed between the nurses perception of the patient safety culture and their safety care activities (r=.407, p<.001). The findings show the patient safety culture accounted for 43.3% of the variance in the safety care activities for hospital nurses followed by the importance of hospital work environment among nurses to improve the safety care activities. These findings highlight the need to develop effective programs to improve the perception of patient safety culture and safety nursing guideline.

The three variables were positively correlated. The factors affecting the nurses' terminal care performance were hope and resilience in the subcategory of positive psychological capital and experience of death of family members, relatives or friends within the past year; The explanatory power was 32.1%. This study was conducted to determine the types of nurse's image in nurses and nursing students by using Q-methodology. Total 40 Q-samples were extracted from Q-population consisted of the 385 statements, which were collected from 135 nurses with more than one year clinical experience in H city and 250 nursing students at H university. The Q-sample classification was conducted by 10 nurses and 40 nursing students, and data were analyzed by using PQ method program. As results, the types of nurse's images were derived as 'textbooked', 'realistic' and 'periodic.' This study was meaningful in analyzing the types of nurse image from both nurses and nursing students. In order to improve the image of nurses, we propose not only to develop a systematic nursing curriculum but also to develop health and medical policies reflecting reality of care settings.
This descriptive study was aimed to identify factors which influence safety performance through evaluation of nurse's perception of patient safety culture and safety control in general hospital. Self-administered web surveys were conducted by 342 nurses who employed in general hospital from May 09 to May 13, 2014. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 21.0 statistical program. The results of analysis revealed that the score of safety culture perception was 3.34, safety control was 3.50, safety performance was 3.53 and all scores were higher level than usual. There were significant positive correlation between safety performance and perception of patient safety culture, safety control (r=.463~.645, p<.001). The positively influencing factors of safety performance are marital status, frequency of accident reports, general perception of patient safety and safety control. Explanation ratio of the variables for the safety performance was 52.0% in this study(F=4.252, p=.004). This study aims at developing dialog system to improve the quality of life of the elderly with a dementia. The proposed system mainly consists of three modules including speech recognition, automatic search of the time-sorted dialog database, and agreeable responses with the recorded voices of caregivers. For the first step, the dialog that dementia patients often utter at a nursing home is first investigated. Next, the system is organized to recognize the utterances in order to meet their requests or demands. The system is then responded with recorded voices of professional caregivers. For evaluation of the system, the comparison study was carried out when the system was introduced or not, respectively. The occupational therapists then evaluated a male subjects reaction to the system by photographing his behaviors. The evaluation results showed that the dialog system was more responsive in catering to the needs of dementia patient than professional caregivers. Moreover, the proposed system led the patient to talk more than caregivers did in mutual communication.
This study was done to identify the perception of cancer pain among nurse and 4th grade medical school and to apply it to the development of systematic educational program. The subjects were 258 nurses and 211 4th grade medical school students. The results of the analysis using the SPSS WIN 18.0 statistical program showed statistically significant differences in the next question between the two groups ; "Cancer patients don't get addicted to painkillers the more often they use them.", "Cancer pain can occur regardless of age.", "Injections or neurotheraphy are not temporary, but effective over a long period of time when cancer patients have pain.", "Cancer patients are not easily addicted to painkillers compared to other patients." Therefore, it is necessary to establish the educational direction and related education programs for the theory and practice of systematic cancer pain in both groups.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control affect nurses' pressure ulcer (PU) prevention behavior among general hospital nurses based on the theory of planned behavior. A total of 111 nurses in four general hospitals in Korea participated in this study and replied to a survey on attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, and behavior regarding PU prevention. Data were analyzed with multiple regressions by all participants, education level, working department, and hospital size group. In all participants, the more positive attitude and the higher subjective norm, the more PU prevention behavior. However, in the group of 'more than bachelor degree' and 'tertiary hospital', the more clinical experience, the more behavior. In the group of 'surgical ward & intensive care unit', the higher attitude, the more behavior. In the group of 'more than bachelor degree', the higher subjective norm, the more behavior. Therefore, personalized and tailored intervention for nurses may be provided depending on nurses' education level, work department, and hospital size to enhance PU prevention behavior by means of improving nurses' attitude, subjective norm toward PU prevention.
