This study was conducted with one group pre-test and post-test design. A total 31 the aged participated in 4 weeks of intervention. Data were analyzed as SPSS ver. 21.0 using descriptive statistics and paired t-test. We have identified that hypertension specific self-efficacy(t= -3.46, p< 0.000***) and disease awareness(t= -5.69, p<0.000***) significantly increased. We found that 4-weeks is appropriate for hypertension self-management education program. We suggested that for over 80's, customized program should be provided.

Data were collected from August 1st to October 30th, 2020 using open-ended questions by in-depth interviews of the participants in one-on-one setting. Participants were nurses who have experience of caring LGBT patients(n=6). Interview data were analyzed using Colaizzii's method of phenomenology. Nurses' experiences toward nursing with LGBT patients in this study had varied, often understanding and sometimes conflicting. As results of the interviews, the 4 categories and 9 theme clusters were identified. The 4 categories included 'Ambivalence', 'Careful and difficult nursing practice', 'Lack of training for diverse and professional care', 'Becoming a nursing professional'. Nurses in this study had expressed diversely nursing experiences about LGBT patients. Most participants showed complex understanding. This study highlights the lack of adequate didactic and clinical preparation makes nurses feel difficult to care for LGBT patients. Therefore, it should be developed effective training and education programs on LGBT health that nurses received from their educational programs.

  • Nursing students, as prospective nurses, are expected to act as child abuse reporters and advocates for child targets. Therefore, this study aimed to provide a basis for developing a child abuse prevention education program for nursing students by determining the extent of nursing students' perceived target vulnerability and target advocacy, child rights awareness, and intention to report child abuse, and analyzing the relationships among the variables. This study is a descriptive survey study to identify the effects of target vulnerability, target advocacy, and child rights awareness on intention to report child abuse among 154 nursing students, and the data collection period was from July 3 to July 31, 2023, and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 program. As a result of identifying the influential factors on nursing students' intention to report child abuse, child abuse education, championing social justice as a sub-variable of target advocacy, and target vulnerability, the explanatory power of these variables was 35.8%. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that it is necessary to increase activities through the development and application of simulation education based on actual clinical cases in order to increase nursing students' interest in and education about child abuse.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop a self-assessment tool to evaluate program outcomes of nursing students in Korean nursing undergraduate education. Methods: The instrument development process consisted of literature review, focus group interviews, and item validation. A total of 117 items were analyzed through content validity testing. Data was gathered from 302 nursing students in Korea and analyzed using SPSS 21.0. Results: To construct validity, principal component analysis and Varimax rotation were used, and 12 factors, with a cumulative explanatory variance of 69.16%, were determined from 79 items. For internal consistency and reliability, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was .91. The half-split reliability results were .84 and .85, and the ROC curve showed an optimal cutpoint at 227. A five-point Likert scale was used for scoring. Conclusion: This instrument was found to have fair validity and reliability as a self-assessment tool for nursing student learning outcomes. Therefore, it can be used to evaluate program outcomes indirectly in nursing schools.

  • This study aims to explore the development and application of a simulated skills package designed to improve nursing students' knowledge integration and their system thinking(ST) skills about congestive heart failure(CHF) and to identify the change in students' ST levels using a ST-based learning approach. A simulated learning support package was developed by nurse educators and ST experts. The developed program was implemented with 35 third-year nursing students from S university in Seoul. The subjects improved their ST skills regarding CHF after intervention. Mean test scores for students completing the program were significantly higher than pre-intervention scores, including measures of direction of causality, polarity of causal relationship, feedback loop, polarity of feedback loop (reinforcing, balancing) and time delay (t=2.26~6.53, p=.030~p<.001). It is suggested that more educational programs be developed on various topics in order for nursing students to improve their ST skills as well as knowledge integration in clinical nursing practicum packages.

  • This research aims is to confirm the effects of cultural competence of an action learning based teaching method in multicultural nursing education. Cultural competence was composed of cultural knowledge, cultural awareness and cultural acceptance. A total of 118 college students were enrolled in this study. Both before and after learning, the students were guided to fill out a questionnaire regarding culture competence. The students from each group studied multicultural nursing by different teaching types: the Traditional Lecture-based Teaching method (TLT) and Action Learning based Teaching method (ALT). Data analysis was carried out by SPSS 21.0. A pre-post comparison within the group was performed using a paired t-test and the comparison between groups was performed using ANCOVA. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the culture competence in both teaching methods. In addition, ALT showed higher cultural acceptance results than TLT; however, there was no difference in cultural knowledge and cultural awareness between the two groups Therefore, ALT should be considered as a teaching method to enhance cultural competence in multicultural nursing education for Nursing students. Further studies on instructional design according to the task types, nursing performance, and the validity of ALT will be needed.

  • This study is a non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental design to test the effectiveness of educational programs on human tissue donation for nursing students to change the perception of human tissue donation. The subjects of the study were 75 nursing students located in U city, 38 in the experimental group and 37 in the control group. The data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 23.0. The average age was 22.39±0.75 years old, women 84.2% and there was no difference in general characteristics and prior data between the two groups. Knowledge (F=-8.921, p<).001, Attitude (F=-5.414, p<).001, perception of death (F=-3.075, p=).004) showed a significant difference, and the educational intervention of nursing students developed to promote human tissue donation showed a positive effect on human tissue donation. When programs to be applied to educational institutions that train not only medical personnel but also experts in other fields must be developed, the establishment and stability of the human tissue donation culture will be solidified. It is also suggested that health care campaigns and education in public educational institutions should be conducted together.
