The users of a chatbot messenger can be better engaged in the conversation if they feel intimacy with the chatbot. This can be achieved by the chatbot's effective expressions of human emotions to chatbot users. Thus motivated, this study aims to identify the appropriate emotional expressions of a chatbot that make people feel the social presence of the chatbot. In the background research, we obtained that facial expression is the most effective way of emotions and movement is important for relationship emersion. In a survey, we prepared moving text, moving gestures, and still emoticon that represent five emotions such as happiness, sadness, surprise, fear, and anger. Then, we asked the best way for them to feel social presence with a chatbot in each emotion. We found that, for an arousal and pleasant emotion such as 'happiness', people prefer moving gesture and text most while for unpleasant emotions such as 'sadness' and 'anger', people prefer emoticons. Lastly, for the neutral emotions such as 'surprise' and 'fear', people tend to select moving text that delivers clear meaning. We expect that this results of the study are useful for developing emotional chatbots that enable more effective conversations with users.
The purpose of this study is to develop a learning coaching model suitable for the mathematics subject by reflecting the characteristics of the mathematics subject and the mathematics teaching/learning process in the CARE learning coaching model that supports students' self-directed learning. The mathematics learning coaching model developed in this study is a 'step' and 'element' to apply coaching, and a 'strategy' for carrying out it. Mathematics learning coaching model evaluated rapport, trust, state management, and math pre-test as elements of 'creating a comfortable atmosphere', and problem recognition, hypercognition, restructuring, initiative, and math learning ability as elements of 'improving perception'. Self-efficacy, learning readiness, confirmation (feedback) as elements of the 'reawakening of learning immersion' stage, voluntary motivation and success experiences as elements of the 'empowerment' stage, and various math learning strategies to perform each element presented. The math learning coaching model can be used to help math teachers motivate students to learn and help students solve their own problems.
Objectives: Stage 1 sleep provides important information regarding interpretation of nocturnal polysomnography, particularly sleep onset. It is a short transition period from wakeful consciousness to sleep. The lack of prominent sleep events characterizing stage 1 sleep is a major obstacle in automatic sleep stage scoring. In this study, utilization of simultaneous EEG and EOG processing and analyses to detect stage 1 sleep automatically were attempted. Methods: Relative powers of the alpha waves and the theta waves were calculated from spectral estimation. A relative power of alpha waves less than 50% or relative power of theta waves more than 23% was regarded as stage 1 sleep. SEM(slow eye movement) was defined as the duration of both-eye movement ranging from 1.5 to 4 seconds, and was also regarded as stage 1 sleep. If one of these three criteria was met, the epoch was regarded as stage 1 sleep. Results were compared to the manual rating results done by two polysomnography experts. Results: A total of 169 epochs were analyzed. The agreement rate for stage 1 sleep between automatic detection and manual scoring was 79.3% and Cohen’s Kappa was 0.586 (p<0.01). A significant portion (32%) of automatically detected stage 1 sleep included SEM. Conclusion: Generally, digitally-scored sleep staging shows accuracy up to 70%. Considering potential difficulty in stage 1 sleep scoring, accuracy of 79.3% in this study seems to be strong enough. Simultaneous analysis of EOG differentiates this study from previous ones which mainly depended on EEG analysis. The issue of close relationship between SEM and stage 1 sleep raised by Kinnari remains a valid one in this study.

We examined the developmental characteristics of dream, daydream, and hope of elementary school students in their 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades, and studied the correlation between three variables. We summarized the results of this study as follows. 1) The contents of dream developed with the cognitive development and socialization process. In detail, appearance of animals, family members, and known persons gradually decreased, and appearance of self, same-sex peers, and strangers gradually increased. These results are comparable with the previous studies of dream. 2) Daydream, hope, and current state also developed with age. In detail, frequency of daydream increased, and the contents of daydream and hope changed toward more self-centered and more realistic. The changes of current state are thought to reflect the specific situation of Korea. 3) There are some correlation among dream, daydream, and hope. Especially happy mood and fearful mood had positive correlation with the relevant contents of dream, daydream, and hope. Also the contents of dream showed positive correlation with the same contents of daydream. This study is the first trial which investigate the developmental characteristics of dream, daydream, and hope of normal children in Korea. We verified that dream and daydream are on the continuous line of ‘reality-imitation-play-daydream-dream’ Finally, considering the facts that dream developed with age;responded to meaningful emotional experiences;and had the correlation with daydream, hope, and current state, the results of this study support the psychological meaning of dream.
Several experiments were conducted in growth chambers and a greenhouse to determine the influence of various environmental factors on seed germination and seedling emergence of Indian jointvetch. Fully matured seeds of Indian jointvetch germinated only 42%. The germination percent increased as the storage temperature increased with time. More than 90% seeds germinated when the seeds were kept at $40^{\circ}C$ for seven months, but germination was 58.9 and 55.1% when kept at 25 and $4^{\circ}C$, respectively. Non-dormant seeds of Indian jointvetch germinated 91.1 and 92.4% at 30 and $30/25^{\circ}C$, respectively. Germination percent increased with increasing both prethermal temperature and time. The prethermal temperature of $90^{\circ}C$ for 40 minutes was the best for maximum germination (94.5%). Germination and growth of Indian jointvetch tended to decrease slightly until -0.3 MPa osmotic potential (water stress induction) and then declined drastically and the seeds did not germinate at below -0.5 MPa osmotic potential. Indian jointvetch seems to grow well in moist and flooding conditions since emergence and growth of seedling increased with increasing soil moisture content and the water level.
The study is to examine the psychophysiological responses evoked by negative emotions(fear and disgust) in children. 47 children(11-13 years old, 23 boys) participated in the study. While the children were experiencing fear or disgust emotion induced by audio-visual film clips, ECG, EDA, PPG and SKT are measured. Emotion assessment scale was used to confirm that emotions elicited by the film clips were significantly noticeable, which was measured self-report. The results turned out to be 100% and 89.4% of appropriate for fear and disgust emotions, respectively. Emotional intensity the children had experienced was rated as 4.05, 4.07 on 1-5 scale based on effectiveness of measurement of fear and disgust emotion. ANS reponses by fear and disgust were significantly between the resting state and emotional state induced. The result obtained from the fear emotion showed significant increases in SCL, NSCR, HR, RSA, RESP and HF. There was a significant difference in SCL and NSCR between the two emotions.

This study examines the clinical availability of alpha amplitude, asymmetry and mean frequency in old age as EEG indexes reflecting brain health condition. The EEGs of prefrontal lobes in eye closure state were measured for 4 minutes with 72 male and female elderly people aged 73. Subjects were divided into higher and lower groups based on average values of alpha amplitude, asymmetry and mean frequency. The results of correlations and t-test among EEG indexes were as follows. First, the higher Alpha altitude was, the higher physical and mental stress resistance and left-to-right brain communication were, and the lower mean Alpha mean frequency location was. The higher Alpha asymmetry was, the lower left-to-right communication level was. Second, as Alpha power of right brain was higher than that of left brain, Alpha amplitude and mental stress resistance and left-to-right brain communication level were higher. Third, as Alpha mean frequency location was higher, Alpha amplitude and mental anti-stress level were lowered and arousal level was enhanced. These high correlations and complementary meaning among quantitative EEG indicators demonstrated the possibility of biomarkers reflecting brain health state in old age.
Gwanghwadang-Wonsam was designated as National Folklore Cultural Heritage No. 52 in 1979, it is in good condition. However, a problem is the attached a phoenix insignia badge that did not exist when it was designated recently. As it became known as the only purple Wonsam artifact with "phoenix insignia", raising the need for its conservation. In this regard, scientific analysis was required to correct misinformation about designated cultural assets and restore the original designated state by analyzing the history of the Gwanghwadang-Wonsam, other relics of the phoenix insignia and its making design patterns. An X-ray fluorescence analysis was used to confirm that the Phoenix insignia's metal threads were titanium-plated silver. Phoenix insignia using titanium-plated gold thread was not identified in Gwanghwadang-Wonsam photographs in 1986, and the TiN-type membrane plating method was used in various industries in the 1990s, which can be estimated to be attached in the early and mid-1990s. Especially, the scientific analysis results from the X-ray fluorescence analysis in this study provide key evidence for conservation processing. This study demonstrates the importance of investigating relics and similar artifacts in the conservation process of inherited relics and as a precedent for restoration that corrects misinformation about designated cultural properties.
Chobun refers to a temporary grave covered with straw thatch that contains a corpse until its flesh is gone. When all the flesh has rotted away, the straw grave is disassembled and only the bones are retrieved. Therefore, Chobun is an example of a secondary burial custom (German : Doppel Bestattung) that is composed of a first temporary funeral for processing the corpse's flesh, and a second permanent burial of the final remains (bones or ashes). The duration of the temporary burial is determined by the time needed for decomposing the flesh of the deceased. Building a Chobun progresses putrefaction and reduction to bone. In the literature of alchemy, putrefaction and new life occur simultaneously. The purpose of rotting is to make the flesh disappear, leaving only its essence. It is making the physical body enter a spiritual state, so that the dead can enter into a different world. One must endure the unstable rotting process until the smell of flesh has faded. The rotting process is the attitude of accepting the terrible, polluted aspect of the corpse, while maintaining a helpless, passive posture, in order to allow new possibilities. When we try to approach an archetypal aspect of the unconscious, it is often experienced in threatening, aggressive ways. In the individuation process, the unconscious offers us the blessing of a new spiritual awakening and renewed sense of life, only when we have the courage to see this terrifying and contaminated side of our psyche. This is exactly what putrefaction means. Bone and skeleton symbolize the indestructible, imperishable, and essential elements of life. Bone is the minimum unit and foundation for regeneration, where new life can grow. Reduction to bone is moving back to the origin of life, to the womb. Psychologically, it means discarding one's ego-centeredness and allowing the Self to lead the entire process of individuation. Going through the painful process of reduction to a skeleton for the purpose of further development is a declaration of the death of the ego, aiming at the liberation from perishable flesh and acquisition of the spiritual, regenerative, and immortal elements of life. Chobun also denotes the yearly decay and revival of life, especially of vegetal life. In Chobun, this symbolic meaning of the vegetal cycle of life is emphasized to represent the part of life that survives even after death. Vegetation related to Chobun deals with the continuity of life and psychologically with the Self. Images of vegetation are closely related to the existence of life beyond death, which is the existence of the Self, the source of energy that constantly renews and rejuvenates the consciousness.
