Visualization and Localization of Fusion Image Using VRML for Three-dimensional Modeling of Epileptic Seizure Focus (VRML을 이용한 융합 영상에서 간질환자 발작 진원지의 3차원적 가시화와 위치 측정 구현)

  • In medical imaging, three-dimensional (3D) display using Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) as a portable file format can give intuitive information more efficiently on the World Wide Web (WWW). The web-based 3D visualization of functional images combined with anatomical images has not studied much in systematic ways. The goal of this study was to achieve a simultaneous observation of 3D anatomic and functional models with planar images on the WWW, providing their locational information in 3D space with a measuring implement using VRML. MRI and ictal-interictal SPECT images were obtained from one epileptic patient. Subtraction ictal SPECT co-registered to MRI (SISCOM) was performed to improve identification of a seizure focus. SISCOM image volumes were held by thresholds above one standard deviation (1-SD) and two standard deviations (2-SD). SISCOM foci and boundaries of gray matter, white matter, and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the MRI volume were segmented and rendered to VRML polygonal surfaces by marching cube algorithm. Line profiles of x and y-axis that represent real lengths on an image were acquired and their maximum lengths were the same as 211.67 mm. The real size vs. the rendered VRML surface size was approximately the ratio of 1 to 605.9. A VRML measuring tool was made and merged with previous VRML surfaces. User interface tools were embedded with Java Script routines to display MRI planar images as cross sections of 3D surface models and to set transparencies of 3D surface models. When transparencies of 3D surface models were properly controlled, a fused display of the brain geometry with 3D distributions of focal activated regions provided intuitively spatial correlations among three 3D surface models. The epileptic seizure focus was in the right temporal lobe of the brain. The real position of the seizure focus could be verified by the VRML measuring tool and the anatomy corresponding to the seizure focus could be confirmed by MRI planar images crossing 3D surface models. The VRML application developed in this study may have several advantages. Firstly, 3D fused display and control of anatomic and functional image were achieved on the m. Secondly, the vector analysis of a 3D surface model was defined by the VRML measuring tool based on the real size. Finally, the anatomy corresponding to the seizure focus was intuitively detected by correlations with MRI images. Our web based visualization of 3-D fusion image and its localization will be a help to online research and education in diagnostic radiology, therapeutic radiology, and surgery applications.

  • In the present, most lighting simulation programs are based on luminaires data produced at overseas. Currently, it is difficult to use proper domestic luminaire database in most lighting simulation programs, because there are only oversea luminaire database available. Therefore, in this study, domestic luminaire database were developed and categorized, and applied to Internet Web-based RADIANCE rendering system. Luminaire database are constructed with 3D modeling, materials, and IES candlepower distribution data of each luminaire.

  • Since the world wide web, simple and convenient tool, has proposed, the Internet became the most simple network resource which provide many informations of the world. Furthermore, various methodologies are developed to support the dynamic service such as 3D View web service. We will propose the volume rendering view program that interactively visualize the 3D data on the web. The 3D Data is obtained by stacking the 2D images along the z-direction. We also employ the COM based OCX control which is a kind of Active component. This web program will contribute the diagnosis of the diseases through the 3D visualization and image analysis functions at remote places.

  • Bioinformatics is concerned with the creation and development of advanced information and computational technologies for problems in biology. It is divided into genomics, proteomics and metabolimics. In metabolimics, an organism is represented by metabolic pathway, i.e., well-displayed graph, and so the graph drawing tool to draw pathway well is necessary to understand it comprehensively. In this paper, we design an improved drawing algorithm. It enhances the readability by making use of the bipartite graph. Also it is possible to draw large graph properly by considering the facts that metabolic pathway graph is scale-free network and is composed of circular components, hierarchic components and linear components.

  • OpenFlow 는 인터넷 스위치(라우터 포함)를 부분적으로 개선하여 연구자가 기존 네트워크의 정상적인 서비스를 간섭하지 않으면서 새로운 네트워킹 기술을 테스트할 수 있는 미래인터넷 (Future Internet) 연구를 위한 프로토콜이다. 하지만 OpenFlow 기반 테스트베드의 상태 정보를 확인하고 발생한 플로우들을 제어할 수 있는 도구(tool)가 부족하여, 연구자가 실험의 다양성을 제공 받기 어렵다. ENVI(Extensible Network Visualization & Control Framework)는 OpenFlow 네트워크 가시화를 위한 프레임워크로, 사용자의 목적에 맞는 인터페이스를 만들도록 제공해 준다. 본 논문에서는 OpenFlow 기반 테스트베드의 토폴로지 정보 및 플로우 상태를 쉽게 확인하고, 플로우 경로를 제어하는 OpenFlow 제어기 응용의 개발과 ENVI 의 확장을 설계하고 이를 구현을 통해 검증한다.

  • Because of the invisible nature of software and the bad coding habits (bad smell) of the existing developers, there are many redundant codes and unnecessary codes, which increases the complexity and makes it difficult to upgrade software. Therefore, it is required a code visualization so that developers can easily and automatically identify the complexity of the source code. To do this, it is necessary to construct SW visualization tool based on open source software and redefine the coupling and cohesion according to the object oriented viewpoint. Specially to identify a bad smell code pattern, we suggest how to plug-in diverse parsers within our tool. In this paper, through redefining coupling and cohesion from an object oriented perspective, we will extract bad smell code patterns within source code from inputting any pattern into the tool.

  • In this paper, we developed the GML Map Server which visualized the map based on GML as international standard for exchanging the common format map and for interoperability of GIS information. And also, it should transmit effectively GML map into the mobile device by using dynamic map partition and caching. It manages a partition based on the visualization area of a mobile device in order to visualize the map to a mobile device in real time, and transmits the partition area by serializing it for the benefit of transmission. Also, the received partition area is compounded in a mobile device and is visualized by being partitioned again as four visible areas based on the display of a mobile device. Then, the area is managed by applying a caching algorithm in consideration of repetitiveness for a received map for the efficient operation of resources. Also, in order to prevent the delay in transmission time as regards the instance density area of the map, an adaptive map partition mechanism is proposed for maintaining the regularity of transmission time. GML Map Server can trace the position of mobile device with WIPI environment in this paper. The field emulator can be created mobile devices and mobile devices be moved and traced it's position instead of real-world. And we developed POIM(POI Management) for management hierarchically POI information and for the efficiency POI search by using the individual tagging technology with visual interface.

  • 용접은 산업계의 기계 조립 및 접합을 위한 공정의 주요한 작업으로 조선, 중공업, 건설 등 산업현장에서 사람에 의한 수동적인 작업으로 대부분 수행된다. 이러한 용접 작업을 수행하는 용접 기술자는 산업 현장 훈련원과 직업 교육 학교에서 양성되지만 용접 훈련 과정은 실습 초보자에게 위험하고, 장시간 교육하기에 어려울 뿐 아니라 재료 낭비, 의사 소통의 한계, 즉석 결과 평가의 한계, 공간부족 등 다양한 문제가 있다. 그러므로, 안전하고 반복적인 실습 환경 제공하고 장시간 및 다수 교육참여 지원 등이 가능한 시스템을 구축하여 숙련된 우수 인력 조기 확보와 훈련 비용을 절감할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 실제와 동일한 상호작용을 제공할 뿐만 아니라 고품질로 훈련 환경을 가시화하여 용접 상황을 동일하게 모사하는 가상 현실 기반 용접 훈련 시뮬레이터를 제시한다. 이 시스템은 용접의 형상과 환경의 고품질 가시화, 경험 DB를 통한 용접의 비드 형상 데이터 획득, 용접 토치를 이용하는 사용자 상호작용, 용접 훈련 결과 평가 및 최적 작업 가이드, 용접 콘텐츠 저작, 다양한 용접 훈련을 가시화하는 하드웨어 플랫폼으로 구성된다. 고품질 가상 용접 가시화는 경험 DB 기반 비드 형상 데이터와 신경회로망을 이용한 비드 형상 예측을 통해 실시간 비드 표현이 이루어지며 쉐이더 기반 고품질 모재 및 비드 표현, 아크 불꽃 효과 표현을 포함한다. 사용자 상호작용은 현장 작업 도구와 일치된 토치 인터페이스와 위치추적을 이용하여 토치의 작업각, 진행각, 속도, 거리 등을 반영할 수 있으며 진동과 소리 등 용접 훈련의 사실적 상호작용도 재현하였다. 용접 훈련 평가 및 최적 작업 가이드는 훈련자의 용접속도, 거리, 각도 등의 사용자 작업 결과를 그래픽으로 표현하고, 애니메이션을 통한 훈련 자세를 추후 분석할 수 있도록 하였고, 가상토치, 기준선, 수치계기 등을 이용한 최적 작업 훈련 가이드 제시하였다. 훈련 콘텐츠 저작은 메뉴UI 기반으로 용접의 전류, 전압 등의 조건과 상황을 선택하도록 제시하였고, 하드웨어 플랫폼은 워크벤치형 입체 디스플레이 방식으로 용접 환경을 가시화하였고, 위, 정면, 아래보기 등 다양한 용접 자세 변경을 지원 할 수 있도록 구축하였다. 이러한 가상현실 기반 훈련 시뮬레이터는 아크열 발생에 따른 장시간 훈련의 어려움을 극복할 수 있고, 다양한 실습 환경을 바꾸어 가며 반복적인 훈련이 가능하고, 실 재료를 사용하지 않아 재료의 낭비를 줄일 수 있는 환경 친화적인 안전하고 효율적인 훈련 실습 환경을 제공할 수 있다.

  • The study of available genotypes (biodiversity analysis) in bacterial communities is of growing importance in several fields such as ecology, environmental technology, clinical diagnostics, etc. These culture-independent genotyping techniques, especially amplifying 16S rRNA genes, attempt to overcome some shortcomings of conventional cultivation method. Biodiversity analysis based on molecular technique were laborious for base-calling chromatogram, trimming primer sites, correcting strand directions, electing representative operation taxonomic units (OTU), etc. Also, biologists wanted intuitively to confirm results of the above processes. For making up these demands, we developed the web application based on Folder-Process-Filter (FPF) modeling with correspondence to classical Model-View-Controller model. The model of web application leads to keep virtues of simplicity and directness for development and management of the stepwise web interfaces. The web application was developed in Perl and CGI on Linux workstation. It can be freely accessed from http://home.pusan.ac.kr/~genome/tools/rat.htm.

Safety Distance Visualization Tool for LTE-Based UAV Positioning in Urban Areas (도심 지역 LTE 측위 기반 무인항공기 안전거리 생성 알고리즘 연구 및 시각화 도구 개발)

  • We developed a surveillance tool for collision avoidance of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in urban areas. In our tool, users can visualize the safety distance on the actual 3D map of urban area. The estimated positions of UAVs are assumed to be obtained based on the long-term evolution (LTE) signals. The safety distance is defined to include two or more signals with bias. The safety distance calculation method used in this paper enables simulation similar to the actual urban areas where signals are frequently biased due to multipath. In the simulation, the parameters were set based on the measured values, and the change of the safety distance according to the number of faulty signals was simulated. As a result, increasing the number of faulty signals led to a longer safety distance as expected.
