Leak Test for Propulsion System of Launch Vehicle (발사체 추진 시스템의 기밀시험)

  • There is close correlation between the reliability of the launch vehicle and the leakage of the propellants or gases from the launch vehicle. This paper describes the definition of the leak rate to determine the quantity of the leakage and introduce the unit conversion of the leak rate. The main parameters for the leak rate were considered. The requirements for the gaseous for the leak test of launch vehicle and various leak test methods were introduced. Leak test method and procedure used in space launch vehicle were briefly described.

  • 가스사고 중 단순 누설, 누설에 의한 폭발 및 화재사고가 ‘77년부터 ‘95년까지 전체사고의 97,2%를 차지하고 있고, ‘95년 한해동안에는 90%를 초과하여 발생하였으나, 사고의 원인은 명백하게 규명하면서도 폭발 또는 화재발생에 따른 가스의 누출량을 입증하기 위한 자료나 실험자료가 없어 사고조사에 곤란을 격고 있었으며, 이에 따라 가스의 누출량을 추정할 때 조정기의 용량이나 일반적인 누출량 계산식에 근거하여 가스의 누출량을 추산하여 폭발 및 화재발생의 원인을 추정하고 있는 등 사고발생과정을 설명하는데 미진한 부분이 많아 실제로 LPG의 누출량을 측정하여 그 기록을 사고조사시 활용하고 사고 발생과정을 과학적으로 입증하는데 다소 보탬이 되도록 하기 위하여 이번 실험을 실시하게 되었고 본 실험의 통계적인 수치를 전적으로 실제 사고에 적용하기란 아직까지 미흡한 점이 많다고 생각되나 정확한 사고원인조사가 가스안전관리 정책수립의 기본 바탕이 되어야 함으로 이러한 실험이 계속 발전적으로 실시되어 자료로 활용될 수 있기를 바라며, 다소 아쉽고 미흡한 점도 많은 실험이었으나 가스의 누출량에 대한 첫 실험이었다는 점에 의의를 두고, 앞으로 이와 같은 실험이 지속되어 가스안전에 관한 시험 및 자료수집이 활발해 질수 있기를 바란다. Assessment of Gas Leakage for a 30-inch Ball Valve used for a Gas Pipeline (가스 파이프라인용 30인치 볼 밸브의 누설량 평가)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the gas leakage for a 30-inch ball valve. The ball valve was designed and manufactured for a natural gas transportation through a long-distance pipeline mainly installed in the permafrost region. The gas leakage assessment is based on the pressure testing criteria of international standards. Pressure conditions of the gas leakage test was employed 70 bar, 100 bar, and 110 bar. The amount of the gas leakage at each pressure condition was small and had a value under the pressure testing criteria, ISO 5208. Gas leakage with respect to the test pressure was predicted by the polynomial curve fitting using the experimental results. It is found that the gas leakage rate according to the pressure is proportion to a second order curve.

Effect of Construction Joint on Leakage Resistance of Gas in Reinforced Concrete Pressure Vessels (철근콘크리트 압력용기에서 시공이음이 가스의 누설저항에 미치는 영향)

  • In the nuclear power plant, the steel or polymer liner plates are adopted to prohibit the inner concrete surface from contacting with gas or liquid materials. If there is an accident, the plate may be damaged, and, in this case, concrete shall have the final responsibility to safety requirements. In this paper, an experimental research was carried out to investigate the effects of construction joint and wet and loading conditions on the permeability of concrete. The test results showed that, under a construction joint in the wet condition, leakage of gas pressure has been started from $1kg/cm^2$. However, when there are no construction joints, it is initiated from $2kg/cm^2$. In addition, under the air dried and unloading condition, regardless of with or without the presence of the construction joint, since the gas passage that exist in concrete is constant, leakage has a constant tendency to increase. Finally, under the loading condition, as described in Reference 1, since leakage is inversely proportional to the thickness of the wall, and, considering the wall thickness of the actual plant, it is found that there will not be no problem in the sealing of the gas.

  • Dynamic seals have been continue to be one of the major technical problems facing stirling engine designers. Most of the modern engines use some version of the dry ring seal for piston and displacer seals. Friction power losses associated with seals are typically several percent of gross output power, with piston ring seals usually being the main contributor. Much effort has been expended to develop the seal mechanism of piston, but the performance of these seal devices is very poor. This study was conducted to examine the efficiency of the various types of the trial-made piston seal mechanism with reference to leakage of working fluid and friction losses. This paper described the successful hardware implementation of a stainless steel bellows element in stirling engine application with test data in power performance. The indicated power by use of the bellows was more than two times as that by use of the piston ring types. As the result of this study, bellows was provide as a reliable and efficient seal mechanism for any stirling engine application.

$Ar/O_2$가스비에 따른 (Ba,Sr)$TiO_3$ 박막의 유전특성에 관한 연구

  • 본 논문에서는 RF Magnetron Sputtering 방법으로 Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3 박막을 Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si 기판위에 증착하였다. Ar과 O2의 가스비는 90:10부터 50:50까지 O2의 함유비율을 10씩 증가시켰으며, 모든 조건에서 증착온도는 실온으로 설정하였다. Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3 박막의 증착후 각 가스비에 따른 동일한 샘플에 대해 RTA(Rapid Thermal Anneal) 장비를 이용하여 $600^{\circ}C$에서 열처리는 하여 열처리 효과에 대한 특성도 조사하였다. 최종적으로 제작한 BST 커패시터는 Pt/BST/Pt 구조를 갖는 MIM(Metal-Insulator-Metal) 구조의 커패시터였으며 상.하부 전극은 전기적 특성이 우수한 Pt를 사용하였다. 제작된 BST 커패시터를 대해 유전 특성을 조사하기 위해 C-V 측정을 한 결과 산소 함유량이 증가함에 따라 유전율의 증가를 보여주었으며, 제작된 샘플 중 산소 함유량이 30인 샘플은 300이상의 우수한 유전율을 나타내었다. 또한 누설 전류특성에서는 모든 샘플에 대해 1.0V의 인가전압에서 1.0$\times$106A/cm2 이하의 누설 전류 밀도 값을 가져 전기적으로도 안정된 커패시터 구조임을 확인하였다. 또한 막의 증착상태와 미세구조관찰을 위해 SEM 측정을 하였고 구성성분 결정 구조를 알기 위해 XRD 측정도 시행하였다. 결과적으로 본 논문에서 제작된 커패시터 중 Sr/O의 비율이 70:30인 샘플이 가장 우수한 유전특성을 나타내었고, 이 샘플의 유전특성과 누설 전류 특성은 차세대 메모리인 1GigaByte급 DRAM에 적용 가능한 조건들을 만족시켰다.

  • Recently, There are many studies in progress in order to improve the efficiency of the gas turbine. Leakage in losses of the gas turbine account for the largest proportion. Seal is a sealing device to reduce the flow from leaking by the pressure difference inside the turbine. Compressor has another value according to the shape and pressure conditions in each stage. Thus, it is necessary to seal design for boundary conditions in order to minimize leakage. At the actual operating conditions of the compressor, numerical analysis of honeycomb labyrinth seal was performed in accordance with pressure, temperature, rotor speed for CFD. As a result, when the temperature increases, the leakage is decreased. Also, when the pressure increases linearly with increased leakage, and there was no effect of the rotation speed.

Research on MFL PIG Design for the Inspection of Underground Gas Pipeline (지하매설 가스관의 검사를 위한 누설자속탐상 PIG 설계에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes the magnetic flux leakage(MFL) type non-destructive testing(NDT) system to detect the 3D defects in underground gas pipe. Magnetic systems with permanent magnets and yokes are analyzed by 3D non-lineal finite element method(FEM) with optimum design. In case of under-saturation of gas pipe, sensing signals are too weak to detect. In case of over-saturation, the changes of the sensing signals are too low to detect the defects sensitively. So, the operating points of the magnetic system are optimized to increase the changes of the MFL signals. The effects of the depth and size of the defects on the sensing signals are analyzed to define the range and resolution of the MFL sensors. To increase the sensor's sensitivity, the back-yoke sensors are introduced and tested.
