This paper describes recent developments and trends of digital reference services. A brief overview of selected research on issues surrounding digital reference service is provided. It also discusses how technological developments in libraries have led to the emergence of new service paradigms. This paper briefly reviews reference and information services provided by libraries, those from publishers, those provided by experts, and those where users need to conduct a search and find information through the web. The current trend shows that the cooperative model is increasingly popular. Some projects on collaborative digital reference services(CDRS) are introduced. Librarians will need to continue analyzing the need for cooperative work in the reference service in a digital environment.

The purpose of this study is to develop a practical model for enhancing cooperative virtual reference services of public libraries in the nation. The research methods include an examination of model cases from Europe and the V.S. and also an electronic questionnaire survey of 375 public librarians (73% response rate). The study results suggest the need for 'a collaborative virtual reference room' which consists of the collaborative reference database, virtual reference desk, guidance and instruction designed by age groups and/or subjects.

This study is designed to research principles for establishing cooperatively virtual reference shelves of university libraries. To achieve the goal, this study establishes theoretical foundations for virtual reference shelves. Also, we discuss why the virtual reference shelves are necessary via cultural subject of libraries. Second, this study investigates current circumstances of virtual reference shelves' usages. This Investigation is conducted in terms of nine evaluation indexes. The results are used to justify the cooperative establishment for virtual reference shelves. Last, this study discusses actual methods and procedures for establishing cooperatively virtual reference shelves, associating with roles of related institutions.

University libraries need the development of a common Internet-based reference request system in order to prevent duplicated investment and provide interoperability among them. This paper proposes a standard of Internet-based reference recluest system that serves reference request-responses and that provides reference source sites on the world wide web. Using this system, university libraries can cooperate other libraries with reference databases and may perform tasks of reference service efficiently.

The purpose of the research is to 4ind out its problems and to suggest its solution by investigating and analyzing the present condition of the Virtual Reference Shelves establishment in Chinese university libraries. To achieve the goal, this study establishes theoretical foundations for virtual reference shelves. The evaluation standard was set up on the basis of this theoretical foundation. The 38 university libraries, which had been selected in 985 Project were analyzed by this evaluation standard. The results are used to justify the cooperative establishment for virtual reference shelves.

네트워크 기능 가상화(Network Function Virtualization, NFV) 기술은 기존에 물리적인 장비 형태로 제공되던 네트워크 기능들을 소프트웨어로 구현하여 가상의 인스턴스 형태로 제공하는 것을 말한다. 이런 NFV 기술을 통해 가용한 네트워크 자원들의 효율적인 활용과 가변적인 시스템 상황에 대한 유연한 대응이 가능하다. 이러한 NFV 기술이 점차 발전하면서 네트워크 보안 분야에서도 보안 서비스 벤더들이 자신들의 클라우드 시스템을 통해 소프트웨어 기반 다양한 네트워크 보안 기능들을 제공하는 시스템 형태가 점차 나타나고 있다. 본 논문에서는 NFV 기반 네트워크 보안 서비스 제공 시스템을 위한 참고 아키텍처로서 국제 인터넷 기술 표준화 단체인 IETF의 Interface to Network Security Functions (I2NSF) working group에서 제안한 I2NSF 시스템을 소개한다. 그리고 이러한 시스템 모델을 기반으로 NFV 기반 네트워크 보안 서비스 제공 시스템 설계 및 개발 시 고려해야 할 주요 연구이슈들에 관해 논의한다.

In these days, the practical training education is getting highlighted in IT curriculum. This study is for the Cloud computing based Virtual Desktop Service Plan of IT education and its efficient operation and management plan. With the implementation of a virtual lab environment system, the training environment which is customized by the curriculum is able to be provided. Also in the case of the limited system, the curriculum is able to be provided for each subject in advance. Therefore if the Cloud Training (or Practicing) Portal system for the multiple cyber universities is implemented according to this study's estimated scale and operation managing policies, the virtual training education service system could be provided in more efficient and more effective ways.

한국은 평창 동계올림픽을 통해 세계 최초 5G 상용화 서비스를 시연하였으며, 대부분의 사람들이 5G 스마트폰을 사용하고 있다. 전 세계적으로도 5G 스마트폰의 사용자수와 5G 네트워크를 이용한 헬스케어, 자율주행, 스마트제조, 가상융합, 대용량 데이터처리 등 산업체 중심의 활용 및 서비스가 계속해서 증가되고 있다. 5G 네트워크는 속도, 대기 시간, 대역폭 측면에서 4G 보다 개선되었지만, 5G 코어 네트워크 자체에 존재하고 있는 보안위협과 5G 네트워크를 구축 및 운영하는 관점에서 다양한 보안 문제들이 존재할 수 있다. 이러한 보안 문제들을 해결하기 위해 UN 산하 정보보호 국제표준을 개발하고 있는 ITU-T SG17에서는 통신사업자 및 부가서비스 제공자들이 5G 네트워크를 구축하고 운영할때에 요구되는 보안 지침에 대한 국제표준을 개발하고 있다. 본 논문은 ITU-T SG17에서 추진되고 있는 5G 보안 국제표준화 동향에 대해 살펴하고자 한다. The research reports the results from an investigation of various measurement elements and techniques appropriate for the economic assessment of academic libraries, with a view to apply them in future evaluation of academic libraries in Korea. Two libraries participated in the pilot study. In one library, CVM (contingency valuation method) was applied to services ranging from circulation, electronic collection, reference, user education and facility. In the second library, three different methodologies--time value, alternative service value and CVM--were all applied to measure the value of electronic collection. The research provides analyses of measurement elements used, study procedures and measurement results. Based on these analyses, the study also makes suggestions in the areas of measurement goals, service, users and the calculation of B/C ratios that need to be taken into consideration in order to execute reliable and valid assessment of academic library's value.
