Measurement of Diaphragm in Normal Human (정상인의 가로막(diaphragm) 높이와 만곡도 계측)

  • General anatomy classifies diaphragm as muscle of boundary between chest and abdomen, while radiology divides it into right and left hemidiaphragm, because it is more advantageous in radiological diagnosis on chest and abdomen. Based on these anatomic characteristics of diaphragm, this study aimed to measure the height and curvature of right and left diaphragm in simple chest radiography. As a result, this study came to the following conclusions : 1. For all subjects who joined this study, it was found that their mean transverse diameter in internal diameter of thorax(ID) amounted to 293.3 mm(min. 221.0 mm, max 335.3 mm). 2. For the right and left height of diaphragm, it was found that 81.4% showed higher right diaphragm ; 16.2% showed equivalent height between right and left diaphragm ; and only 2.4% showed higher left diaphragm. 3. For higher right diaphragm, it was found that the mean height of right diaphragm amounted to 15.2 mm(min. height = 2.0 mm, max. height = 41.7 mm). 4. For higher left diaphragm, it was found that the mean height of left diaphragm amounted to 11.5 mm(min. height = 4.7 mm, max. height = 30.4 mm). 5. The mean curvature of right diaphragm amounted to 22.9 mm(min. curvature = 10.4 mm, max. curvature = 37.3 mm). 6. The mean curvature of left diaphragm amounted to 22.4 mm(min. curvature = 11.3 mm, max. curvature = 42.2 mm). 7. For possible associations between ID and right/left diaphragm curvature, it was noted that ID was in significantly positive correlations with right diaphragm curvature(r= .427, p<.001) and left diaphragm curvature(r= .425, p<.001) on statistical level. 8. For possible associations between right and left diaphragm curvature, it was found that right diaphragm curvature was in significantly positive correlations with left diaphragm curvature(r= .403, p<.001).

  • 이 연구의 목적은 EMG 바이오피드백을 이용한 가로막 호흡 재교육 운동이 전방머리자세 성인의 들숨 기능의 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 이연구 결과 EBDBEG에서 최대들숨압(PIP) 유의하게 증가하였다(P<.0.5). 따라서 바이오피트백을 적용한 시각적 되먹임을 통해 가로막호흡운동 시 보다 정확하게 가로막의 수축과 이완의 움직임을 인지하고 호흡 보조근을 억제를 유도할 수 있을 거라 생각되며 좀 더 장시간의 적용은 호흡기능 및 전방머리자세에도 긍정적인 역할을 할 것이다.

  • The propose of study analyze a TEMA(Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association) E shell and tube heat exchanger performance with 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 baffles and 16, 20 tubes. In this investigate measured a variation of the heat exchanger cooling capacity change within each number of baffle and tube number and determined optimal number of baffle. designs for industry applications are optimized using the analysis of test results.

  • This study aims to compare chest mobility, diaphragm contraction, and lung capacity when wearing a bra and per breast size. The subjects of this study included 10 adult women who were attending Chungnam B University: 5 women who wear underwear size 75A (group A) and 5 who wear underwear size 85B (group B). The chest mobility using a tape measure, the diaphragm contraction using ultrasound, and the lung capacity was measured using a Pony FX before and after bra wear. The chest mobility and diaphragm contraction were significantly reduced when bras were worn in group A and B. Lung capacity was significantly decreased only in group A. There was no significant difference between the groups. This study suggests that women's bras can have a negative effect on diaphragm movement, chest mobility, and lung capacity.

Early Onset Renal Failure in Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome associated with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia by WT1 Gene Mutation (WT1 유전자 돌연변이에 의해 선천성 가로막 탈장이 동반되고 조기 신부전이 초래된 선천성 신증후군 1례)

  • We experienced a female neonate with congenital nephrotic syndrome (CNS) associated with congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). Because of the rare combination of two conditions, we report this case with literature review. CDH was found immediately after birth and emergency operation was done for hernia repair. But on the next day, generalized edema and oliguria(0.59 mL/kg/hour) was found and her blood chemistry showed hypoalbuminemia (1.6 g/dL), increased BUN (27.7 mg/dL) and serum creatinine( 1.8 mg/dL) along with heavy proteinuria (4+). We started albumin infusion with a bolus of intravenous furosemide. We suspected the neonate had congenital nephrotic syndrome and her 24hr urine protein was 1,816 mg/day. In spite of immunosuppressive therapy, the nephrotic syndrome and renal failure progressed. We started peritoneal dialysis on the day of life 22 but it was not satisfactory. She was complicated by intracranial hemorrhage and multi-organ failure and expired at 34 days of age. Kidney necropsy was performed which showed diffuse mesangial sclerosis (DMS). Her chromosome study revealed 46, XX and her gene study revealed a heterozygous missense mutation, Arg366His, in Wilms tumor suppressor gene (WT1). This case deserves attention on account of the 4th case of CNS with CDH revealing the Arg366His mutation in the WT1 gene and G the 1st case of early onset renal failure without male pseudohermaphroditism and Wilms tumor with CNS, CDH and the Arg366His mutation in the WT1 gene. So, this report gives support to the hypothesis that Arg366His mutation in the WT1 gene can result in CNS and CDH.

Effect on Respiratory Function of the General Adult by Gait Training Based on the Way in a Speed Pattern (속도 방식에 따른 보행훈련이 일반 성인의 호흡기능에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of gait training based on the way in a speed pattern on the respiratory function of general adults. A total of 37 people were divided into three groups to conduct fast, standard, and interval gait training. For gait training, a treadmill was used. Three groups were trained for 60 minutes, three times per week, for a period of 6 weeks. Inspiration pressure, maximum inspiration volume, and the size of diaphragm movement were measured. Repeated Measures ANOVA was used to compare times, groups, and interactions. For inspiratory pressure, maximum inspiration volume, and size changes in diaphragm movement, there were significant differences depending on the time and interaction between times and groups. For size changes in diaphragm's movement, there was a significant difference between interval gait training group and standard gait training group. Therefore, interval gait training had effects on size changes in diaphragm movement.

Relationship between Breathing Pattern Disorder and Pain in Patients with Chronic Low Back Pain (만성요통환자의 호흡패턴이상과 통증과의 상관관계)

  • To investigate the relationship between breathing pattern disorder and pain in patients with chronic low back pain(CLBP). One hundred four patients were measured the End-tidal CO2(EtCO2) and respiration rate(RR) using capnography. Also, The Breathing-hold time(BHT), Nijmegen Questionnaire(NQ), and Thoracic excursion examinated. There was a significant correlation between EtCO2 and BHT, thoracic excursion(r=.302, r=.281)(p<.01), and a low negative correlation with RR, VAS(r=-.253, -200)(p<.05). There was a significant correlation between NQ and RR(r=.237)(p<.05). There was a low correlation between thoracic excursion and VAS(r=-.370)(p<.01). There was a significant difference in the EtCO2, RR, BHT, thoracic excursion, and VAS between the thoracic and diaphragm breathing pattern(p<.05). There were no significant differences in the NQ(p>.05). There was a correlation between EtCO2 and BHT, thoracic excursion, RR, VAS in patients with CLBP. In addition, There was a correlation between RR and NQ, thoracic excursion, and VAS. As a result, it was found that there is a close relationship between breathing pattern disorder and pain. There was a significant difference in the EtCO2 level, RR, BHT, thoracic excursion and VAS value in the comparison of thoracic breathing pattern and diaphragm breathing pattern. This is a meaningful result of suggesting a breathing pattern treatment approach in the rehabilitation and pain management of chronic low back pain patients in clinical practice.

  • 협회는 7월5일 IPTV 서비스의 조속한 도입과 아울러 합리적인 제도 마련을 촉구하는 관련업체의 의견을 담은 건의서를 국회 방송통신특별위원회에 전달했다. 또한 국무조정실 방송통신 융합지원단과 정보통신부 융합전략팀에도 전달했다. 협회는 건의서에서, 이해 관계자들의 소모적인 논쟁이 결과적으로 IPTV 서비스 도입정책 지연과 더불어 관련 산업 활성화를 가로막아 산업계의 첨단기술 및 제품들이 사장될 위기에 있으며 국가적으로도 막대한 손실로 이어질 수 있다며 IPTV 서비스의 조속한 도입을 촉구했다. 특히, 협회는 국가 100년 대계를 생각해 더 이상 소모적인 논쟁을 종식하고 국가 신성장 동력인 IPTV 상용화를 통해 IT강국의 위상을 제고해야 하며, 이를 위해 정부의 신속한 제도마련과 뉴미디어에 걸맞은 규제제도 완화가 병행돼야 한다고 주장했다.

Formation Process of the Second Mujechi Moor (무제치 제2늪의 형성과정)

  • The purpose of this paper is to elucidate the formation process of the Second Mujechi Moor at Mt. Jeongjok. For doing so, 1 analysed the formation process of valley which moor is located in, and the formation process of block field damming the valley: First, it is not a valley but a hollow which the Second Mujechi Moor located in. Hollow was formed as weathering bedrock weathered deeply along joints under warm and wet climatic conditions was denudated by rain wash. Second, the Second Mujechi Moor had been a marginal lake. Block stream developed during the last glacial period of Pleistocene, and it dammed the mouth of hollow. Afterwards sediments transported from slope filled the marginal lake, thus the lake changed to the moor where aquatic plants could grown. Third, the Second Mujechi Moor is drained and dried out by removal of matrix material from the block stream dam of the mouth of moor. For keeping moor's present conditions, we must control moor's drainage by filling open space in block stream with fine material.
