고분해능 XRD를 이용한 150 mm 사파이어 웨이퍼의 정밀한 면방위 측정

  • 사파이어 단결정은 LED 소자의 기판으로 널리 사용되고 있으며 현재 소재 수율을 향상시키기 위하여 6인치 이상의 대구경 웨이퍼를 만들기 위하여 많은 노력을 경주하고 있다. 단결정, 특히 반도체 단결정 웨이퍼에서($00{\cdot}1$), ($11{\cdot}0$) 등의 어떠한 결정학적인 방위(crystallographic orientation)가 표면과 이루는 각도, 즉 표면방위각(off-cut 또는 misorientation angle)의 크기와 방향은 제조된 LED 소자의 물성에 영향을 끼치므로 웨이퍼를 가공할 때 정확하게 컨트롤해야한다. 본 연구에서는 고분해능 X-선을 이용하여 표면이 결정학적 방향과 이루는 면방위각을 정밀하게 결정하는 측정법을 연구하였다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 ASTM 의 측정법과는 다른 원리를 이용하고 웨이퍼의 휨(bending)이나 측정고니오 회전축의 편심과 무관하게 표면방위각을 결정하는 새로운 이론적 모델을 제시하고 그 모델을 적용하여 표면의 수직축이 대구경 사파이어($00{\cdot}1$) 축과 이루는 표면방위각을 정확하게 측정 분석하였다. 그리고 이러한 측정방법의 장점을 이용하여 ASTM의 측정법과 면방위 측정 결과를 비교 분석 하였다. 150 mm 사파이어 웨이퍼를 ASTM의 방법으로 면방위를 측정하였을 때 고분해능 장비에서 회전축 ${\Phi}$의 기준을 다르게 설정함에 따라서 수직/수평 면방위 측정결과가 많은 차이를 보였다. 그러나 본 연구에서 사용한 측정법에서는 이러한 수직/수평 면방위의 값들이 거의 변화하지 않고 일정하게 나타나는 것을 확인 하였으며, 측정한150 mm 사파이어 웨이퍼의 표면방위각은 $0.21^{\circ}$이고 표면각이 나타나는 방향은 웨이퍼의 primary edge 방향으로부터 $1.2^{\circ}$벗어나 있는 방향이었다.

  • 한반도 국가바람지도(김현구, 2009)는 한국에너지기술연구원에서 지식경제부의 부처임무사업으로 구축되었으며 현재 웹서비스(http://www.kier-wind.org)를 통하여 정보를 제공하고 있다. 국가바람지도는 수치기상예측(NWP; Numerical Weather Prediction) 모델을 이용하여 영토, 영해에 대해 $1km{\times}1km$의 고해상도로 작성한 뒤(이순환 등, 2009) 풍력자원 정보로 재가공되었다. 한반도 국가바람지도는 5년의 장기간에 대한 시계열 수치기상예측에 의하여 구축되었기 때문에 데이터베이스(DB; database)의 효율적 관리가 필연적으로 요구된다. MM5 또는 WRF 모델의 고유 출력포맷의 자료구조는 풍력자원분석에 필요한 기상요소 외에도 대기과학자에게 필요한 수많은 기상인자를 종합적으로 포함하고 있다. 따라서 2차원 층(layer) 또는 3차원 공간분포 분석 및 계산격자인 셀(cell)에서의 1차원 시계열 분석 등 다양한 자료축출에는 비효율적인 자료구조가 된다. 이러한 자료구조의 불편을 해소하기 위해서는 기상요소별로 독립적이고 빈번한 시계열 자료 추출에 효율성을 가지며 어떤 프로그래밍 언어를 사용하든지 직관적으로 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 바람지도 데이터베이스의 재구성이 요구된다. 이에 대용량 수치자료의 처리 측면에서 장점을 가지는 과학기술 프로그래밍 언어인 IDL을 기반으로 국가바람지도의 자료구조를 효율화하여 데이터베이스화 하였으며 IDL에 내재된 그래픽 기능을 활용하여 가시화를 구현함으로써 연구개발자의 입장에서 국가바람지도의 활용성 및 효율성을 향상시키고자 하였다.

  • Historically, internet is the fastest growing media together with the ICT development and the key of the development is contents. Digital contents indicate information which covers voice, DB, game, publications and music etc. and the areas have been creating new technology business opportunities. The value chain of digital contents consists of production, collection, processing, services, connection and navigation and is expected to be reorganized around business players of production and distribution areas. This paper presents on those changes occurring in business environment and examples of business models, and further provides industries and academias with technology commercialization strategies.

  • Stock price index option investing is a scientific investment method and various index and investment strategies have been developed. The purpose of this study is to apply the variety of option investment strategies that have been introduced in the market and validate them using past option trading data. Option data was based on an actual stock exchange market tick data ranging from September 2001 to January 2007. Visual Basic is used to propose an option back-testing model. Validation process was carried out by transferring the tick data into ten-minute intervals and empirically analyzed. Furthermore, most option-related strategies have been applied to the model, and the usefulness of each strategies can be easily evaluated. As option investment has high leverage followed by high risks and profit, the optimal option investment strategy should be used according to the market condition at the time to make stable profit with minimum risk.

A Study on the Thermal Enhancement for a Plane Contact Interfaces of Electronic Systems (전자소자의 평면 접촉계면에 대한 열전도성 향상에 관한 연구)

  • In the present study, measurements of thermal contact resistance (TCR) were conducted for joints of brass and aluminium cylinders of 30 mm in diameter, 45 mm in length, when their interfaces were; ⅰ) under vacuum, ⅱ) charged with a pure silicone grease and ⅲ) charged with a mixture of silicone grease and powder of aluminium (#325). Also the data were compared with analytical calculations using Fouche's model. The data of TCR for joints under vacuum state varied in the range of (2∼100)${\times}$10$\^$-5/(㎡$^{\circ}C$/W) depending on their surface roughness. When the contact surfaces were carefully ground, a reduction of 30∼50% in TCR was obtained. But the surface treatment with silicone grease gave rise to a reduction of about 5∼10 times more than that of vacuum state. The analytical prediction by Fouche's model showed a good agreement within 10~30%, for the case of contact surface charged with silicone grease.

  • Ships' tracking data are being monitored and collected by vessel traffic service center in real time. In this paper, we intend to contribute to vessel traffic service operators' decision making through extracting ships' tracking patterns and models based on these data. Support Vector Machine algorithm was used for vessel track modeling to handle and process the data sets and k-fold cross validation was used to select the proper parameters. Proposed data processing methods could support vessel traffic service operators' decision making on case of anomaly detection, calculation ships' dead reckoning positions and etc.

  • The new deregulated economic environment in the power utility market is forcing fundamental changes in the investment and operational decisions regarding transmission lines. Hence, it has come to be an important issue to evaluate their current utility in order to increase conductor ampacity based on conservative assumptions of worst case weather conditions. Static thermal rating has born still applied in most power companies worldwide, however some of them have been done various trials such as monitoring dynamic line ratings to increase line ratings in real time. This study is an attempt to access the static line ratings in Korea Electric Power Corporation(KEPCO) transmission lines, which were specified by weather model. Several environmental performances for determining static line ratings are examined by using the past weather data of Korean Meteorological Administration. As a result, it is shown that seasonal or regional line ratings could be adopt to the KEPCO's transmission lines, and their line ratings could be more increased without refurbishing current conductors in service to new high-temperature ones.

  • Performance optimization of a small engine intake port has been studied through computational and experimental approach. Port angle, flange area and port shape are very important design parameters affecting performance of an intake port. Especially, radius of curvature of intake port inner surface has major effect on the flow coefficient of an intake port. As increasing port angle and flange area, flow coefficient is increased because pressure distribution and pressure gradient in the intake port are improved. Even though computational results over-predict maximum 8% compared with experimental result, they describe the tendency of flow coefficient according to the design parameters. Optimized intake port shows about 4.5% improved flow performance.

  • Recently the improvement in vehicle performance trend to increase in accordance with the weight of this part. Outer tie rod is small when compared to the other vehicle part by weight, but there is a need to reduce the weight of the outer tie rod in order to improve fuel efficiency of the vehicle. Therefore, from previous studies, a model of outer die rod is proposed using Design of Experiments and Meta model satisfying the buckling performance. Outer tie rod are manufactured through forging process, in this study, we compare the size of the forming load in accordance with the change in the moving speed through the die forging analysis of the outer tie rod on the basis of the actual molding process.

  • With recent progress of related multimedia computing technologies, it is necessay to retrieve diverse types of multimedia data based on multi-media content and their relationships. However, different from alphanumeric data, it is difficult to provide relevant multimedia information, be-cause multimedia contents and their relationships are implied in multimedia data. Therefore, in case of a multimedia news service system that is a representative multimedia application, most of new services provide relevant news about text articles and retrieval of multimedia news such as video news or image news are provided independently. In this paper, we present an XML-based multimedia news management system, which provides integrating, retrieval, and delivery of relevant multimedia news. Our data model composed of media object, relationship object, and view object represents diverse types of multimedia news content and semantically related multimedia news. In addition, a proposed view mechanism makes it possible to customize multimedia news, and therefore provides multimedia news efficiently.
