The Effect of Aquatic-Exercise on Skeletal Muscle Weight and Myofibrillar Protein Content of Rats with Steroids Injection (수중운동이 스테로이드를 투여한 흰쥐의 골격근 무게 및 단백질 함량에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to know the effect of aquatic-exercise on muscle atrophy which induced by steroid injection. The forty-eight Sparague-Dawley adult male rats were assigned to the 4 groups; Group I (distilled water injection), Group II (steroid injection), Group III (distilled water injection with aquatic exercise), Group IV (steroid injection with aquatic exercise). We observed their body weight, muscle relative weight, myofibrillar protein content. The results of this study were as follows; 1. Body weight was decreased rapidly on steroid injection groups in comparison with distilled water injection groups after 2 weeks (p<0.01), but that was almost recovered as before test on steroid injection group with aquatic exercise. 2. The relative weight of gastrocnemius muscles was decreased on steroid injection groups in comparison with distilled water injection groups. however, Decrease of it on steroid injection group with aquatic exercise for steroid injection group was fallen. There was very significant difference after 4 weeks (p<0.01). 3. Myofibrillar protein content of gastrocnemius muscles was decreased on steroid injection groups in comparison with distilled water injection groups. however, Decrease of it on steroid injection group with aquatic exercise for steroid injection group was fallen. There was significant difference after 4 weeks (p<0.05).

Analysis of Bone Mineral Density and Incidence of Osteopenea in Type II Diabetic Patient's (제2형 당뇨환자의 골감소증 발생빈도와 골밀도 분석)

  • Purpose: This study aims to suggest clinical basis of physical therapy to skeletal system complication in type II diabetic patients through a variety of analysis methods. Methods: 75 subjects(type II diabetic patients; age from 40 to 80) of this study were participated in BMD(Bone Mineral Density) and Dual energy X-ray absorptiometry, blood test to their skeletal system. Results: Incidence of osteopenea was higher than normal group as women(91.2%) and men(53.5%) in diabetes group. However, women were showed no significantly difference in comparison group. Above age 60(in diabetes group; men and women) showed to highly incidence of osteopenea as well as significantly difference in osteopenea(peripheral neuropathy). As a result of analyzing blood through presence and absence of osteopenea in diabetes group, men were showed significantly difference in DPD/creatinine ratio and women were showed significantly difference in Alkaline phosphatase, Corrected Calcium. Conclusion: This study shows that decreased BMD and increased osteopenea through type II diabetes. Women were particularly lower BMD and higher incidence of osteopenea than men and men influence of type II diabetes on change of BMD was greater than women.

A Case of Skin Eruption Occurred after Switching Formulation of Quetiapine Fumarate (Quetiapine Fumarate의 제형 변경 후 발생한 피부 발진 1예)

  • Adverse drug reactions are very common in clinical practice, and skin is one of the most frequent organs for adverse drug reactions. We report a case of a 71-year-old male patient who developed skin eruptions after switching formulation of quetiapine immediate release(IR) to quetiapine extended release(XR). He had been taking quetiapine IR(400mg/day) for treatment of manic episode which was developed one year ago. The patient showed great improvement of symptoms after taking quetiapine IR for about one year, thus dosage of medication was reduced to 50mg/day on the average. Unfortunately dose reduction has tended to worsen symptoms, so dose of quetiapine was increased again to 200mg/day with formulation changes to XR. Two days after he took new formulation, erythematous papules were occurred over his anterior neck and ventral side of left wrist. As he stopped quetiapine XR, the skin lesions gradually subsided. And he was successfully treated with readministration of quetiapine IR without any skin lesions.

Finite element analysis for surface hardening of SM45C round bar by diode laser (다이오드 레이저를 이용한 SM45C 환봉 표면경화 열처리의 유한요소해석)

  • Surface heat treatment of SM45C round bar by diode laser was simulated to find it's condition by using commercial finite element code MARC. Due to axisymmetric geometry, a quarter of model for SM45C round bar was considered and user subroutines were applied to boundary condition for the heat transfer. Material properties such as conductivity, specific heat and mass density were given as a function of temperature. Rotation speed of round bar and feed rate of beam were considered to design heat source model. Shape parameter values of heat source were determined by beam profile. As results, Three dimensional heat source model for diode laser beam conditions of surface hardening has been designed by the comparison between the finite element analysis results and experimental data on SM45C round bar. Diode laser surface hardening for SM45C round bar was successfully simulated and it should be useful to determine optimal heat treatment condition.

  • 연구목적 : 수심 깊이에 따른 수중운동이 하지근력에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 연구방법 : 신경근골격계 질환이 없는 여자 10명을 대상으로 하였고, 무작위로 수성 0.7m 그룹과 1.4m 그룹으로 배치하였다. 수중운동은 1회 40분, 주 3회 6주 동안 적용하였다. Ultrasound MyLab25(Esaote, Italy)를 이용하여 하지근육의 우모각과 밀도를 실험전과 후에 측정하였다. 연구결과 : 골격근 구조의 역학적 특성을 나타내는 우모각 변화를 비교한 결과 0.7m 그룹의 오른쪽 넙다리곧은근과 왼쪽 넙다리곧은근, 앞정강근 그리고 장딴지근에서, 1.4m 그룹의 오른쪽 앞정강근과 장딴지근, 왼쪽 넙다리곧은근에서 통계학적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났으나(p<.05), 수심 깊이에 따른 유의한 차이는 없었다(p>.05). 또한, 질적 특성을 나타내는 근육 영상 밀도 변화를 비교한 결과 0.7m 그룹의 오른쪽 넙다리곧은근, 장딴지근과 왼쪽 넙다리곧은근, 앞정강근, 장딴지근에서 1.4m 그룹의 양쪽 넙다리곧은근, 앞정강근, 장딴지근에서 통계학적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났고(p<.05), 특히 1.4m 그룹에서 현저한 증가를 보였으나 수심 깊이에 따른 유의한 차이는 없었다(p>.05). 결론 : 본 연구에서는 수심 차이에 관계없이 수중운동 후 근밀도와 우모각에 영향을 미치는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Chemical investigation of the stem bark of Alnus hirsuta Turcz var. sibirica (Betulaceae), one of the indigenous Alnus species growing in Korea has led to the isolation of five diarylheptanoids. Structures of these compounds were identified as hirsutenone (1), hirsutanonol (2), oregonin (3), (5S)-1,$7-bis-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-heptan-3-one-5-0-{\beta}-D-glucopyranoside$ (4) and (5R)-1,$7-bis-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-heptane-5-0-{\beta}-D-glucopyranoside$ (5) by the analysis of spectroscopic evidences and comparison with the data of authentic samples.

  • 소각로를 포함한 다양한 산업설비의 배폐열은 열병합 등의 다양한 방법을 통해 재활용되고 있으나 에너지의 효율적 사용과 편의성을 고려할 때, 단순한 온수공급 등의 방법보다는 전력으로서의 재활용이 매우 필요하다. 특히 재활용이 어려운 $400^{\circ}C$이내의 중저온급 폐열원을 발전할 수 있는 유력한 방안으로 열전발전기술이 최근 부각되고 있다. 열전발전은 발전모듈의 변환효율이 7~10%이고, 시스템 효율은 5%내외로 증기발전에 비해서는 낮지만 기계적 가동부분이 없어 고장발생이 적고 기동정지가 용이하며 열이 있으면 바로 발전이 가능한 차세대 친환경 발전기술이다. 본 연구에서는 현재까지 시도, 개발되지 못한 $100^{\circ}C$에서 $400^{\circ}C$내외 온도영역인 중저온급 소각폐열 회수를 위한 목적으로 중온용 열전발전소재 및 모듈과 저온과 중온에 각기 대응하여 폐열발전의 효용성을 높인 복식열전발전시스템을 개발 중에 있다. 본 고에서는 현재까지 진행된 일부 연구내용들을 소개하고자 하였다.

Preliminary cost estimation for large-scale nuclear hydrogen production based on SI process (초고온가스원자로 열원 SI 공정을 이용한 원자력수소생산시스템 비용 예비 분석)

  • As a preliminary study of cost estimates for nuclear hydrogen systems, the hydrogen production costs of the nuclear energy sources benchmarking GT-MHR are estimated in the necessary input data on a Korean specific basis. G4-ECONS developed by EMWG of GIF in 2008 was appropriately modified to calculate the cost for hydrogen production of SI process with VHTR as a thermal energy source rather than the LUEC. The estimated costs presented in this paper show that hydrogen production by the VHTR could be competitive with current techniques of hydrogen production from fossil fuels if $CO_2$ capture and sequestration is required. Nuclear production of hydrogen would allow large-scale production of hydrogen at economic prices while avoiding the release of $CO_2$. Nuclear production of hydrogen could thus become the enabling technology for the hydrogen economy. The major factors that would affect the cost of hydrogen were also discussed.

  • This study was carried out in order to estimate the greenhouse performance for Ground filtration water source heat pump which was installed for supplying the heat to the paprika greenhouse in Jinju city. Experimental area of Greenhouse was $3,300m^2$, For keeping the heat from greenhouse, single plastic covering and double thermal screen was installed. With considering all of greenhouse insulation condition and designed heatng temperature, heating capacity for experimental greenhouse was calculated as 320,000kcal/hr. Coefficient of performance(COP) of Ground filtration water source heat pump was gauged and greenhouse heating performance was tested from Febuary 1 to Febuary 28 in 2011. The result showed that COP of heat pump was in the range of 3.7~4.7 and COP of heating system was in the range of 3.0~3.5. The vaule of COP was very high and the temperature inside greenhouse was well corresponded to the setting temperature of greenhouse environment controlling system. lots of Ground filtration water made the the number of well fewer and the expense for installing heating system cheaper than that of geothermal system used custmarily. and this system went beyond the limitation of intaking amount of groundwater in normal Groundwater source heat pump.

Limitations and improvement of the in situ measurements of ground thermal conductivity in Korea (국내 지중열전도도 측정 방법의 한계 및 개선 방향)

  • The borehole heat exchanger of Geothermal Heat Pump (GHP) system should be sustainable and cost effective for long term operation. To guaranty the performance of the system thermal Response Tests (TRTs) with simple recommended procedures have been applied in many countries. Korea government developed a standard TRT procedure in order to control the quality on GHP projects. In the TRT procedure interpretation method has a rule that data set has to be interpreted by the line source model(LSM). The LSM employes some assumptions that surrounding medium is homogeneous and the line source is infinite and constant heat flux, however real ground condition is unisotropic and heterogeneous, and showing regional or local ground water flows in many cases. We need to develope improved evaluation models to estimate accurate ground thermal conductivity with respect to geological and influence of ground water because current TRT standard test procedure has limitations to be applied for every locations and system. This study surveyed the uncertainty of the thermal parameters from the interpretation method considering different evaluation period. The interpretation of 208 TRT data sets represents limitations of LSM application that some obtained ground thermal conductivities are statistically unstable and convergence time of ground thermal conductivity over test period shows trends responding the length of test period. This evaluation study will be helpful to provide some effective procedure for the thermal parameter estimation and to complement current TRT standard procedure.
