구강내에서 분리한 Candida속에 대한 동정실험 (The Indentification of Candida Species Isolated From Oral Cavity)

  • From September to November 1967, Isolation of Candida species from oral cabity was attempted with 270 cases who made visit at outpatient Oral Surgery Department at Soo Do Military Hospital. 1. Out of 270, yeast like organisms were isolated in 108 cases. 2. Among these yeast like organism, 87 proved to be candida species and 21 to be undetermined group. 3. Eighty seven Candida species are consisted of 26 of C. albicans, 31 of C. krusei, 6 of C. Stellatoidea, 9 of C. tropicalis, 4 of C. guilliermondii, 6 of C. parapsilosis. and 5 of C. Pseudotropicalis.

지역 간 철도 이용객의 접근통행 패턴 연구 (An Analysis of Access and Egress Mode Choice to Regional Railway Station using Transit Smart Card Data (a case of Seoul station))

  • This study analyzed passenger's access modes that connect to regional railway station and developed a model of access mode choice based on transit smart card data of Seoul station as a case study. The study boundary includes sixteen bus stops around the station. The results show that most passengers access to station have less than two transfers. Of total 15000, eighty percent of passengers use metro and the rest of people take a bus. Interestingly, it is found that almost same proportions of passengers use metro and bus for egress the station. Consequently, metro is found to be most likely used mode compared to bus for both access and egress trips.

웹기반 피드백 유형이 대학생들의 영작문 능력과 태도에 미치는 영향 (The effects of web-based feedback types on college students' English writing abilities and attitudes)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine whether the teacher feedback (TF) group and the peer feedback (PF) group exhibit significant differences in their English writing abilities and attitudes toward English writing. The subjects of this study are eighty-three college first-year students enrolled in a college English reading class. The subjects' first and final writing samples are used to measure the improvement of English writing abilities and a set of pretest and posttest questionnaires is administered in order to find their attitudes. The qualitative and quantitative analyses of the data collected show the following results. First, the two groups show no significant difference in their holistic scores. Neither do the two groups display any significantly different development in their analytic scores. Second, the two groups show no significant differences in attitude factors but writing confidence. These findings suggest that peer feedback can be used to encourage EFL college students to develop their writing abilities.

  • Aldose reductase (AR) plays a central role in the development of the diabetic complications. Eighty one Korean herbal medicines have been investigated for inhibitory activities on AR. Among them, fourteen herbal medicines exhibited a significant inhibitory activity compared with 3,3-tetramethyleneglutaric acid (TMG) as positive control. Particularly, Xanthium strumarium (fruit, whole plant), Ilex cornuta (stem and leaf), Vitex rotundifolia(stem), Sophora flavescens (whole plant), Platycarya stobilacea (flower) showed two times more potent inhibitory activity than 3,3-tetramethyleneglutaric acid (TMG).

  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate the age-related differences in recall and to assess effects of presentation modality, encoding condition and cue modality on recall in terms of encoding specificity principles and dual-coding theory. Eighty children in each of 3grades(first, third and fifth) were presented a 30-item set of pictures or words on cars for recall in a study-test procedure. The experiment was designed as a 3(age) x 2(presentation modality:picture or word) x 2(encoding condition:random or category) x 2(cue modality:picuture or word) factorial design. Statistical analyses were with four-way ANOVA and $Scheff\acute{e}$ test. It was concluded from these results that when the stimulus was presented by pictures, encoded by category and the cues were also presented by pictures, recall increased in all ages. These results were interpreted in terms of encoding specificity principles and dual-coding theory.

학령전 아동의 대인간 문제해결 능력에 관한 연구 (Interpersonnal Problem-Solving Strategies of Preschoolers)

  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate children's interpersonal problem solving strategies. Specifically, the number and categories of interpersonal problem solving strategies were examined by age, sex, and source of problem (friends or mother). The subjects were eighty 4,-and 6-year-old boys and girls. The instrument was based on Shure and Spivack's (1974) Preschool Interpersonal Problem Solving (PIPS) test. The test was administered to the children individually in the preschool setting. The data were analyzed by two-way ANOVA, frequency, percentage, and Kendall's Tau. The results showed that the older children had higher PIPS scores; that is, the 6-year-olds suggested more alternative problem solving strategies than 4-year-olds. Children suggested more alternate strategies and different strategies for solving problems with friends compared to solving problems with mothers.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the use patterns of traditional fermented soybean products(Jang) in Yangsan city. Two hundred eighty seven housewives living in Yangsan joined this survey practiced by Yangsan City Agricultural Development Center. 49.0% of these housewives graduated from a highschool, and 77.4% is in 30s or 40s. Most(69.3%) of respondents themselves have made Jang at home and the preparation frequency of Jang became higher with getting older. This survey showed that the preparation frequency of Jang in large family living with parents is higher than in nuclear family. The Jang preparation tendency of housewives living in the independent home was higher than that of apartment. Most of respondents replied the preparation method of Jang has been learned from mother or mother-inlaw. On the other hand, in the case of no making Jang at home, they bring it generally from relatives or buy it at the market. And 59.8% of housewives anted to participate in the education of Jang preparation.

  • This study investigated the relations among children's strategies in peer conflict situations, social behavior and children's peer acceptance. Eighty-seven kindergarteners were asked about their strategies in response to 8 hypothetical peer conflict situations. Classroom teachers completed the social behavior rating scale to evaluate children's behavioral characteristics. Children's peer acceptance was measured by peer acceptance rating scale. Results indicated that children's strategies for responding to peer conflicts and their social behavior correlated with peer acceptance, although the linkages were different for boys and girls. Furthermore, children's strategies correlated with their social behavior.

  • This study was undertaken to find out the characteristic craniofacial morphology of Class II Division 2 malocclusions in children by means of roentgenocephalometry. The subjects consisted of twelve boys and thirteen girls with Class Ii, Division 2, thirty seven boys and fifty three girls with Class II, Division 1, and forty six boys and eighty one girls with normal occlusion, ranged from 10 years old to 18 years old. The following results were obtained; 1. The anteroposterior relationship of the maxilla to the cranium in the Class II, Division 2 malocclusion similar to the normal occlusion, but the mandible was the posterior position in th the cranial anatomy. 2. There were no significant differences in the anteroposterior relationship of the maxilla and the mandible between Class II, Division 1 and Class II, Division 2 malocclusions. 3. In Class II, Division 1 the axes of maxillary incisors showed labial inclination, but lingual inclination in Class II, Division 2 malocclusions. 4. Overbite was prominent one in Class II, Division 2, on the other hand overjet was distinguished in Class II, Division 1.

  • This research focuses on rationality of behavior of children purchasing, using, and disposition in consideration of the importance of children consumers, also the purpose of this research is to provide the basic material of consumer education for children. This research was conducted a questionnaire survey of enrolled children and their mothers at 4 public and private elementary schools in Seoul and Kyonggi-do area. It progressed from September 2 to September 7 in 2002, and tea three hundred eighty six reponses except false entries were analyzed using SPSS/PC+ program. The results of the research are as follows; rationality of consuming behavior of children is higher when they are girls, their grades are lower, allowance' amount is larger and children record their allowance, children have lots of the experience of consumer education, children are less influenced by their group.
