U-SmART - SMALL APERTURE ROBOTIC TELESCOPES FOR UNIVERSITIES

  • A group of universities have come together with the aim of designing and developing Small Aperture Robotic Telescopes (SmART) for use by students to observe variable stars and transient follow-ups. The group is deliberating on the components of the robotic system; e.g. the telescope, the mount, the back-end camera, control software, and their integration keeping in mind the scientific objectives. The prototype might then be replicated by all the participating universities to provide round the clock observations from sites spread evenly in longitude across the globe. Progress made so far is reported in this paper.

  • Design of shape fur visco-elastic vibration isolation elements, which are very cost-effective and so popular in many applications is fi?equently based on experiences, intuitions, or trial and errors. Such traditions in shape design make it difficult for drastic changes or new concepts to come out. In this paper, both topological method and shape optimization method are combined together to find out a most desirable isolator shape efficiently by using two commercial engineering programs, ABAQUS and MATLAB. The procedure is divided into two steps. At the first step, a topology optimization method is employed to find an initial shape, where density of either 0 or 1 for finite elements is used fur physical realizability. At the second step, based on the initial shape, finer tuning of the shape is done by boundary movement method. An illustration of the procedure is presented fur a mount of an air-conditioner compressor system and the effectiveness is discussed.

  • ABEEK's professional liberal arts education reflecting critical thinking, has been well received by professors and students in the engineering discipline. Also, the demand for further utilization of critical thinking within the engineering curriculum is increasing. To meet such demand, there is a need for experts in the area of critical thinking education and engineering education to come together and search for the most effective method in using critical thinking in engineering design education courses. In this paper, we were able to confirm, through specific application cases, that the problem-solving process of critical thinking can be effectively transferred to an engineering design process, and the elements and criteria of critical thinking can be used as a successful design tool. Also, we explore the possibility of further improving engineering education on the basis of critical thinking.

  • Two-dimensional (2D) materials have been attracting attention since graphene monolayer was firstly separated. However, after an explosive boom, there is always quandary and stagnancy following and soon will come the refractory period of capital market. To avoid that undesired future, a paradigm of quasi 2D monolayer has been contemplated and devised in this article, with examples studied theoretically. The results show the general dynamic nonlinearity, and the expected tunability of bandgap without extra doping or substitution. These together suggest its intriguing both electronical and mechanical properties, which will enrich the arsenal of potential 2D materials.

  • The purpose of the study is to find how the family moral principles are placed in the Buddhist Sutra how they come up to the surface through certain course. We set up the following five kinds of question for aim of this study First in which form are the family moral principles placed in the Buddhist Sutra ? That is are they shown devided into two between the fundamental though of Buddhism and the concrete description? Second how are the family moral principles melted into the fundamental though of Bud-dhism ? Buddhism takes a cognitive method of pursuiting one from divesification,. If that is so the family moral principles will establish the fundamental thought of Buddhism melted along with other phenomena. When the fundamental thought of Buddhism is restored to the family moral principles which image are they presented with us? Third if the family moral princprinciples melted into the fundamental thought of Buddhism in itself came up to the surface ? Buddhism has a and is mixed together. The family moral principles of Buddhism are named from the fundamental thoughts to the family moral principles and do not come up to the surface but are melted into the important concepts of Buddism that is charity kama nirvara emptiness the principle of middle way. The aspects of the family moral principles which are melted into theses thoughts: 1) The concept of loving-kindness including equality non-self practice is shown in the family moral principles. 2) The thought of karma includes the moral principles for interdependence between the building up of home and family members. 3) Home should be a place of self-realization from the suffering realization This kind of home salvation should be set up by family members themselves and the consciousness of the master that such salvation is neither to be made by others not to be given by god is presented one should be the master of one's life 4) The thought of emptiness includes the social extension of home and those of the moral principles of collective body of family. 5) The Buddnist family is morality is based on the principle of the middle way shich means neither too extrim nor lacking.

노인장기요양보험제도에 있어 방문물리치료서비스에 대한 보건소 방문사업팀의 인식도 조사 (A Survey on Home Care Team's Perception in Health Center about Home-based Physical Therapy among Home Care Service for Long Term Care Insurance)

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of home care team's home based physical therapy in public health center Method: We surveyed 11 questionnaires for hone care team in health center from 1st to 30th, November in 2008. Results: The person who recognized the exclusion fact of home-based physical therapy in long term care insurance was 64.2% in whole 109 people. About necessity of home-based physical therapy, "absolutely necessary" as the person answer was 43.1%. Home-based physical therapy in the insurance must come to be provided with a precedence was 81.3%. About starting time of hereafter home-based physical therapy "after 1 years" the opinion which was 60.7%. Opinion about operation institution of home-based physical therapy "the pubic hospital or health center" was 52.3%. In composition form of the home-based physical therapy team "with the physical therapist and occupation therapist come together" was investigated with 37.4%. Conclusion: As long term care insurance will be developed, discussion about quality- of-service must be continuous and depth. Relates hereupon, the academic, researchers, and the persons concerned must consider the best quality of life improvement of the citizen and prepare the ground which systemic, rational, and actual on starting of home-based physical therapy in long term care insurance.

  • 홈네트워크 시스템의 본격적인 보급과 함께 가정용서비스 로봇의 최근 연구 성과들은 인간과 지능로봇이 가정에 공존하며 서로 의사소통을 할 수 있는 시대가 가까운 미래에 현실화 될 수 있음을 보여주고 있다. 한편 가정의 환경적인 특징은 open이기 때문에 그러한 환경에 적응하고 주어진 임무를 수행하는 데는 단일 로봇 또는 단일 홈서버보다는 로봇을 포함하는 홈네트워크 시스템 내의 여러 장치들이 어울려 분산처리를 수행하는 multi-agent 시스템이 일반적으로 더 좋다고 알려져 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 홈네트워크 시스템을 가진 가정에서 필요한 agent들을 정의하기 위해 framework 모델을 구축하고 각 agent 간의 통신 protocol architecture를 제시한다. 이를 위해 로봇 또는 홈서버의 단일 지능이나 기능보다는 그 안에 존재하는 복수개의 agent instance들의 집합으로서 agent를 정의하고, 각 agent 내외에서 agent들 사이의 협력(cooperation)과 타협(negotiation)을 통해 환경과 적응하는 방법 및 사람과 교감(interactive)하는 방법을 제시한다.

  • Symbolism found in a certain object inherits characteristics from the culture that contains the objects. The purpose of this study was investigate the formative beauty of Korean trousers twisted the pieces together based on the way of Korean thinks and the Topology. The shape is formed by cutting from the fabric. From the perspective of semiology, the fabric and the pattern shape correspond to ground and figure. Ground and figure are identical with the principle of the whole and the part, which is the same in Korea, China, and the West. But In Korea, the 3-dimensional garment is made by adding a twist. This is very important and defines the difference in the way of thinking and topology. Korean trousers consist of three parts : Hury, Marupok, and Sapok. The small Sapok can be made by removing the Marupok and large Sapok (figure) from the fabric (ground) when making Korean trousers. A Mobius strip is made when the large Sapok is adjoined with the small Sapok by reversing the small Sapok, making a 180$^{\circ}$twist and then stitching together. The theory of Mobius strip can be applied in Joining Bajiburi. thus when the trousers are completed the Klein's bottle is seen because of the 2 existing Mobius strop. 재현과 수행으로서의 관광객 사진: '러버덕 프로젝트 서울'을 중심으로 (Tourist Photography as Representation and Performance: Focused on Rubber Duck Project Seoul)

  • 석촌호수 일대는 러버덕으로 인해 '평화', '기쁨', '희망', '치유'의 장소로 포장되었지만, 그 이면에는 대기업의 숨은 의도가 내포되어 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 관광객들은 언론매체를 통해 접했던 러버덕을 직접 보고, 확인하기 위해 석촌호수를 방문하고, 사진 촬영을 통해 낭만적 이미지의 노란 고무오리를 재생산한다. 따라서 그들의 사진 작업은 해석학적 순환의 마침표로 자리 잡는다. 그러나 러버덕을 무대삼아 이루어진 다양한 사진 수행으로 인해 석촌호수 일대는 다양한 정체성의 장소로 나타날 수 있다. 가족을 사진기에 담으면 '사랑하는 가족성'을 생산하는 장소가 될 수 있고, 피사체가 연인일 경우는 '애정의 장소'가 되며, 혼자만의 촬영이 이루어지면 '자기애'의 장소로 변모될 수 있다. 이때 '나'와 '우리'라는 주인공을 위해 고무 오리, 호수, 도시는 사진의 배경이 되어준다. 따라서 석촌호수 일대에서의 사진 수행은 석촌호수의 '지리'를 소비하고 반영하는 것에 머물러 있지 않는다. 그것은 새로운 '지리'를 생산한다.

[ N2H+ ] OBSERVATIONS OF MOLECULAR CLOUD CORES IN TAURUS

  • We report the millimeter-wave radio observations of molecular cloud cores in Taurus. The observed line is the $N_2H^+$ emission at 93 GHz, which is known to be less affected by molecular depletion. We have compared starless (IRAS-less) cores with star-forming cores. We found that there is no large difference between starless and star-forming cores, in core radius, linewidth, core mass, and radial intensity profile. Our result is in contrast with the result obtained by using a popular molecular line, in which starless cores are larger and less condensed. We suggest that different results mainly come from whether the employed molecular line is affected by depletion or not. We made a virial analysis, and found that both starless and star-forming cores are not far from the critical equilibrium state, in Taurus. Together with the fact that Taurus cores are almost thermally supported, we conclude that starless Taurus cores evolve to star formation without dissipating turbulence. The critical equilibrium state in the virial analysis corresponds to the critical Bonnor-Ebert sphere in the Bonnor-Ebert analysis (Nakano 1998). It is suggested that the initial condition of the molecular cloud cores/globules for star formation is close to the critical equilibrium state/critical Bonnor-Ebert sphere, in the low-mass star forming region.
