This study aims at selecting contents of a text book, 'Understanding on Steel', and at presenting compilation methods of that book based on the previous researches on teaching young meister of steel industry. To do that, this, first analyzes subject profiles of textbooks on 'Understanding on Steel' to make questionnaires for the textbook compilation. Second, this study selects textbook contents improved through interviews. Third, this study revises, and complements broad contents, and selects detail units by selected professional committee which is composed of textbook researchers and editor groups. The research results are as follows: First, this study confirms that the formation of the broad contents of 'Understanding on Steel' presented in textbook profiles are appropriate, Second, this study selects subjects of detailed units along with the middle units of 'Understanding on Steel' by selecting parts needed to be improved in terms of the textbook formation. Third, this study presents the text formation system for the broad, middle and detailed units of the textbook, 'Understanding on Steel'.
