Optical study of environmental and light induced effects on 8-hydroxyquinoline derivative metal complex small molecules thin films

  • We report on the synthesis and film formation on a variety of small molecules such as $Alq_3$, $Znq_2$, and $Inq_3$, used as light emitting material in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) . The organic materials are usually susceptible to environmental aging and photo-oxidation, which influences their viability for commercial utility. Here, we examine the effects of oxygen and light on these organic materials to enhance the efficiency and lifetime of OLEDs. Optical techniques - ellipsometry, photoluminescence and infrared spectroscopies- have been used to study of environmental and light induced effects on 8-hydroxyquinoline derivative metal complex small molecules thin films

Lithium Quinolate Complex as an Electron Injection Layer in Organic Light Emitting Devices

  • We investigated the effect of lithium 8-hydroxyquinolinolatolithium (Liq) as an electron injection layer on the performance of organic light emitting devices (OLEDs) and optimized the device efficiency by varying thickness of Liq layer. The device with 1nm Liq layer showed significant enhancement of the device performance and device lifetime. We also compared $Znq_2$ and LiBBOX with Liq as an electron injection layer.

A Study on the Development of Electrophotographic Photoreceptor by Metal free-Phthalocyanine Dye Sensitized System (무금속프탈로시아닌 색소계를 이용한 전자사진 감광체의 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The object of this study was to improve electrophotographic photoreceptor using metal free-phthalocyanine dye sensitized system. In here a various types of metal free-phthalocyanine and polymers and hydrazone were used as charge generation material(CGM) and binder, respectively, and also the hydrazone derivative or zinc complex was used as charge transport material(CTM). It was found that $x-H_2Pc$ showed the highest sensitivity among the ${\alpha}-$, ${\beta}-$ and x- metal free-phthalocyanine($x-H_2Pc$) as CGM. The photoreceptor made by $x-H_2Pc$ and hydrazone derivative as CGM and CTM, respectively, showed the highest ratio of dark decay having 73.1% and the good sensitivity of $1.50lux{\cdot}sec$ compared to other photoreceptors.
